Copperas Cove-20
Converse Judson-19
Both teams were a little bit scrappy cause it was week one of the season, but this game was one to remember! Converse, started out with a 13-0 lead early in the game, Coves QB had some back prob. from the last week. But, that was all Cove needed (senior leadership). Cove stormed back and had a chance to go for it on 4th and 3 with 3 mins left...but we punted! Converse went three and out and the kicker for Converse had already missed two extra points on the day. So...19-13 with 1 minute left! Cove starts off with little passes and gets good position, but the clock was running! SO we called timeout with 16 seconds left (i beleive). Play started heavy rush comming from the left side, we though the game was over...NOPE...Garner get out of the pocket and tosses it up in the left side of the endzone and there was Darrell Armstead wide open in the endzone for 6!! All we needed was an extra point! (our kicker is perfect on the season). HE MADE IT!! The crowd was going insane!! But there was still 4 seconds left on the clock. But the wise thinking of Coach Welch...nobody expected it..an onside kick! We recovered and the game was over...We just came back, one of the best games in Cove history! GOOD JOB DAWGS...FINISH WHAT U STARTED!! BEAT LUFKIN!

The Devine - Liberty Hill Game Last weekend was a classic. I have seen 32 games this year so it's hard to remember one from another it's much easer just to pick the last one I saw.

Strake Jesuit has had the most exciting games in 195a IMO.
Strake Vs FB Marshall and Cy Falls Vs Laporte.
Those 2 were the most exciting for me.

westfield v. cy fair last week. 35-27, westfield. big underdog cy fair surprised what must have been an overconfident westfield. both teams had long sustained drives all game long. very few punts in the game. westfield goes ahead to stay with only 3 minutes left in the game.

I would have to say that last game that Strake played was one of the most pure "fight to the end" games I've seen in a long time.
They just would not quit !!
