3 Teams have pitched shut outs. Carroll's was the most impressive.
R1 seems to be the strongest while R4 is getting it done from 1 district.
Trinity has scored the most while Katy has allowed the fewest.
Katy has outscored the most while Falls has the least.
I combined both divisions. Hope that does not frustrate people. Like to hear thoughts on these stats. Sorry I didn't comment on R2.
Sorry for the confusion. These points are for these teams only. They are points for and against thus far through 3 rounds in the playoffs. The region points are for these teams only also.

Every game is as different as the teams from the 4 regions are different.
I'm not sure these stats mean anything really, too many variables.

When you tee the football up on the 40 yard line, it is any team game.
GOOD LUCK this weekend to all teams.

Questions for the final 12
1. How many teams are still pulling their starters out in the third quarter?
2. How many points of the points allowed has the second and third string given up?
3. How big of a lead is needed before your team starts working on the clock?
This is what I have seen from Katy.
1. In the second round they pulled them out early in the fourth. In the first and third round it was early in the third quarter.
2. I think of the 22 points allowed through 3 rounds 15 was allowed by the second and third string.
3. I think coach Joseph lets them go all out. I think he lets the 2nd and 3rd string go all out but the call selection is one of more clock management.
I'm pretty sure Carroll's starters are pulled early so they can answer? Are their any other teams still pulling starters?

SV pulls them after the half, after maybe one drive.
SV's points allowed after 2nd, 3rd. and JV goes in, about half of what you see
SV works the clock from the first snap, I keep saying that. Just cause you dont score 55 points on someone does not mean you are not doing well.

What this tells me is Region I has had a cake walk.
and I though Region IV had an easy way to State. What are they doing out in Region I playing against JV Squads?

I agree - I mean Allen was a joke - an absolute joke - terrible team. Down by 21 and it looked like they were running an offense similar to the four corners in basketball. Calling delays and draw plays on 3rd and long. Ridiculous. Abilene was not much potter - o-v-e-r-r-a-t-e-d. Trinity played 2 cupcake squads too. Neither team will be tested until they play a region IV team.

Lets just say that the starters at SLC have played only the first half of all three games. With the starters in SLC has outscored the oppenets about 120 - 0. The seconds have started the 3rd quarter and all the points scored against SLC have come with the seconds in or the game on cruise control.
In the first half against Imac, Imac had a total of 40 total yards. Allen had -13 yards in the first half. Abilene had about 100 total yards in the first half.
The first half of all three games was as dominating a performace as I have ever seen in all my years of watching High School Football.

As far as points on SLC's starters,
In the first 2 games the ONLY FIRST DOWN in the first half was a penelty in the Allen game. 3 games 0 points in the first half, Abilene did get 3 first downs in the first half.
Second half SLC plays a lot of kids and also plays a soft D giving up short stuff but not allowing the big play. Overall based on when it counts SLC has give up 3 first downs total, 0 points in 3 games.
The biggest mistake people make is overlooking SLC's defense.

I noticed the win spread last week and finally started to agree with pulling the starters and letting the bubbas play.
But it stills bugs the crap outta me when we let one slip by after 3 quarters of flawless defense.

Sure they can. Change your offensive make-up. Dump the spread. When you have the best spread offense in the game, you certainly ought to be able to defense the also-rans.
That's why I believe the state game will be Cove vs. Katy.
Spread be gone.

It's reigning Cats and Dawgs on SLC and they are getting it done very impressively. Katy is also, just on teams with weaker records.

Southlake has a great team. I do not want to diminish that at all. I really believe that they will win it all. They also have very good fans.
Southlake did not pull their starters until the middle of the 4th and then it was only McElroy and maybe a few others. Some defensive starters were pulled with about 4 min to go. The O line was never pulled. SL was still throwing the ball while up 40+. That my friend is running it up. That is the only beef I have with your program. Coach Warren would have never shot for the end zone with just minutes to go had the tables been turned. Your definition of pulling your starters is much different than mine. My understanding is that Dodge was trying to prove something. I thought it was classless. I know for a fact that Sr backup lineman never saw the field.

I love teams like SV where they have the ball inside the ten when they are up by 20 with 2:30 left and they run the clock out. The game was ended on the one yard line. That is how you play classy football. A win is a win no matter how big or small the margin.

Agreed. Hill does not care about hype of getting front page blowout news. I think this is one reason they stay under the radar, and make it as far as they do. People see stats, and dont take them for what they are really worth. Dont undertand clock/ball control football and the stats/scores that it produces. I will take 1 point wins in every game if I knew my team was going to make it into not just the playoffs, but all the way to semi/quarter/ or state finals.

Clock/ball control show superior coaching rather than superior talent. I love football teams that are smarter, not stronger.
