Congrats to EP Parkland Matadors the Mats ... They will be playing Stephenville in the 3rd round at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa at 1pm. Way to go Mats and good luck in the 3rd round .....

I believe they are scheduled for Saturday at Ratliff.

Does anybody have info on Stephenville ? Are they for real , do the Mats have a chance for an upset ? Parkland has a very good QB Assad Taylor and they have alot of team speed on both sides of the ball. The QB Assad Taylor was outstanding, with two passing and three rushing touchdowns last week against SanAngelo Lakeview...

I don't know about this year specifically at Stephenville, but they're generally one of the best 4A programs in the state. Haven't one a title since Briles was the coach there, but they still make pretty good runs and are usually ranked in the top 10.

If Parklands defense can hold I believe the offense is good enough to keep them in the game... Im hoping for an upset at Ratliff on Saturday...

Anybody have any thoughts on how good Stephenville is? I believe if Parkland plays for 4 quarters instead of two like they did last week against SanAngelo. They should have a shot...

In Dallas, Parkland is the best trauma hospital in the southwest......you're gonna need a trauma room once Stephenville gets through with you....;)

I haven't seen Parkland at all, but, your post is dead on! You can NOT take any quarters off against Stephenville. Fort Worth Dunbar can testify to that! Dunbar led 34-20 with less than 3 minutes to go, and got comfortable. Long story short, Stephenville ends up winning 47-41 in overtime.

Now, Stephenville has had some trouble with teams who have alot of speed. Dunbar is one of those teams that was loaded with speed, and athletes. Everman, who Stephenville played in district, is another team loaded with speed (Everman defeated Stephenville 56-3). But, in order to beat the 'Jackets, not only will Parkland have to play a full 4 quarters, but, they also can't commit too many penalties and/or turnovers. Stay focused, and you'll have a shot.

Oh, and lets say that Parkland does beat Stephenville, good luck against Everman.:eek:
