i don't think its right that just because the saints are playing 3 games there we can't play there. The Cowboys play many games a year at Texas stadium and HS plays there also.

who needs a dressing room. We can get ready in the hall way. It just sucks when your the visiting team at the alamodome because you have to go in the bay doors and go ALL THE WAY AROUND in the hallway so you can get to the locker room.

Yes it is true. I don't personally like the dome - nor any dome for that matter - but I can see why everyone is pissed. Texas stadium is hosting/hosted 4 NFL games between November and New Years Day, while the Alamodome is hosting 1 NFL game during that time - on Christmas Eve, one week after the last playoff game! I don't know what the locker room situation is at Texas Stadium, but that was the excuse the SA people gave out in regards to their decision on the Alamodome.

I"m guessing maybe with the money the Saints have put into the coffers, they didn't need the UIL money this year like in years past. I'm sure in the past, HS football was a necessary income for the place.

What money? When the Cowboys came during the summer, only SAISD was smart enough to charge them a rental fee. Football is meant to be played out doors.

IMO outdoors is much for fun to go watch, also the sun and wind becomes a factor, which can determine the outcome of a game, i.e. game winning field goals.

It has nothing to do with Money, or how many NFL games are being played there. The Saints have moved there whole operation to the Alamodome. They practice there they have there personal everyday locker rooms there, even there front office staff has set up shop in the Alamodome. At Texas Stadium all the Cowboys do is play games. They don't practice at Texas Stadium, they don't have their permanent lockers there, they don't have there front office there. The Cowboys use the facility 8 times a year; the Saints are using the Alamodome everyday.
Could they hold HS games? Sure they could, but the logistics alone would be a nightmare for both sides. I for one like the Alamodome but it sure is nice to have a change of pace around here. Sure I have to decide if I want to go see Madison-SV or Judson-SW but that’s what makes it fun, and that’s High School football.

how big are the hs stadiums being used for sa games this week? i've got to think the sv-mad game will overfill anything available. i know there won't be any riverwalking for state games this year. it's a shame.

Alamo Stadium held a DI State final a few years back between SA Taft and Mesquite. It holds around 22K+. That game was not well attended but it was a driving rain storm that day. I had plans to go but stayed home after I saw what the weather was like.
This week SV and Madison play at Comalander, NEISD and Madison home field. It's listed at 11k but Yesterday I was at a game there and the Athletic Department said they were bringing in some portables for the end zones. SV and Madison are not huge fan bases but above average I would say, the fact it's a Saturday day game hurts a bit but the place should be SRO.
Judson vs SW is a Farris, it is listed at just over 10K and is the home stadium to O'Connor, Taft, Marshall. It's a new facility and very nice but it all depends on how SW travels. I went to the SW-Judson regular season game at Judson a few years ago and the SW side was a ghost town, but back then they were just starting to get good and it was a regular season game. Judson will more than likely have some fans on the visitor side as their home stadium is listed at 12k+ and they do a good job of packing it
Seats this week will be at a premium for sure but I think playing out doors in overflowing stadiums will be a nice change to paying in the Alamodome with no one in the end zones and upper deck.

In addition, the NCAA volleyball championships will be in the Alamodome on Dec 15 & 17.

The Saints HQ is in the dome. everything they do is comeing right out of there and they don't want a bunch of highschoolers kicking them out i mean they really have no where else to go. i wish we could still play there but SA is hosting the Saint we need to give them what they need.

If getting an NFL teams means no high school playoff's, they then they can keep it we don't want NFL anymore.

That's another Benson homerun. He ruined it for everybody. He can't/won't commit to stay but he has the authority to take away something that is wrth a lot more to SA than just 3 games at the dome. There is not a lot of revenue from gates at the dome for high school football, but the economic impact in SA has to get a big boost from the travelers during play-offs. I know the valley brings the house when they travel. I wish the Saints would go back to NO. They can play in Baton Rouge and not upset our traditions here.

I enjoyed the Alamodome in 2003. The games are comfortable and the Riverwalk added to the fun. I probably spent $500 buck in SA for room, restaurants and shopping.
I would hope a try for Reliant would be made for the state game. If it is a SLC/Katy matchup, it will be a huge crowd.
