Since I am here in the press box - I will be the first to congratulate Hebron on a terrific season. That was the 3rd greatest game I have seen this year, keep in mind this is probably my 32nd game or so.
Hebron played well and Wylie was up to the challenge. I hate to see Hebron's season end this way, but you guys will be back next season and better than ever. Again, congrats to Hebron on the great season.

Congrats to Wylie! Nice comeback after being down early. Although there were too many mistakes and penalties on both sides, sometimes we forget these are just high school kids. Just a great effort by both teams!

+1... Not a very good day so far for 6-5A :(
I've got a ton of respect for Wylie, but I really thought today was Hebron's day... Way to battle Hawks!!
Come on Coppell!!

Too many mistakes, penalties and bad calls on both teams. To Wylie's credit, they played a much cleaner game the second half and won. My hat's off to them for a well played game... and good luck next week. If you can get by Bowie you may go all the way. :notworthy:notworthy

Hebron, we commiserate with you. But yours was very close, you almost had it.

Hebron keep your heads high. You as well as SLC have two of the finest classiest programs in the state. Good tough game. Tough loss. I feel for both programs. I have no doubts that your winning ways will expand next year.
I heard your new horn on the radio. Sounded good:) Sounded louder that FLower Mounds.

I am just back from TS. Congrats to the Pirates! Our Hawks made too many mistakes today to pull out the win.
Very close game.
Good job, Pirates. Hope you go far.

Both teams made some crucial mistakes... and as I stated in the other thread... it came down to a special teams play... or 3.

Wylie won....I eat my crow. Nothing more nothing less.......

And now there are none! Thought 6-5A was suppose to be one of the toughest districts in the state? Sure didn't seem like it today.

This is lame. The district lost to Trinity, Allen, Cedar Hill, and Wylie. Trinity and Allen could very likely be the 2 best teams in the state this year, and Cedar Hill & Wylie are talented enough to beat anyone (and both could have very easily been beaten today). To suggest that 6-5A isn't one of the better districts in the state is ignorant.

All I have to say is,
Nikita Whitlock
Can we borrow him when you guys are done with him?
Don't get me wrong, I love the hole pluggers we have now, but ... to have a 240lbs NT who looks like he's being shot out of a cannon on passing downs is absolutely SICK.

:D Yep, that kid is one serious football player! We might need him just a bit longer though! ;)

First off, congrats to Wylie. You played an excellent game and took advantage of the Hebron miscues and made the most of your opportunities. Yog fought back and weathered the initial Hebron onslaught. The drive after the controversial fumble, albeit hard to watch from the opposite side, was impressive. For those reasons you are a deservant winner. Good luck and hope you continue your playoff run. If Hebron was going to beat in the playoffs, it is easier to swallow by saying you got beat by the best.
Hebron, hold your head up high. You have nothing to be ashamed of. If ever the cliche' "Heart of a Champion" was to be used, it would apply to this Hebron team. You have played with class this whole year. The drive at the end of the game to tie it up showed the heart and soul of this team. You never gave up, and you should be commended for that. Seniors, good luck in your future, whatever that may be. You have had an extremely impressive four years. A 45-9 record and a State Championship over the past four years is something to be very proud of. Juniors and Sophs, learn something from this group of Seniors. Work hard in the off season, come back stronger, remember that feeling walking off of Texas Stadium Saturday night and not wanting to feel like that again. If you accomplish those things, a second State Championship is within reach.

As we were sitting there in the stands the first half my wife ask me if we had a chance with the 15/0 score. I told her this is the playoffs and anything can happen and besides our boys shine in the 2nd half. When your kicker missed that field goal she turned to me with tears in her eyes and said you were right :D:D she herself thought Hawks were going to walk away with the win. Awsome game Hawks, My hats off to your boys.
