View Full Version : The worst day ever on this forum

This is the worst day ever on this forum. We have cocky, arrogant fans everywhere. We have fans taunting and talking all kinds of trash after wins this week.

This was Week 13. All the teams that got this far should be applauded. All the teams that play next week have done something special in the playoffs.

Please respect past and future opponents.

band wagoners and new to the regionals types are feeling their oats. you have a few extra post because of it however. you just didn't hardly have time to get a dozen posts in edgewise as per normal.

lonny, I couldn't agree more. I started a new post on Lufkin vs Cove because of all of the trash on the first one. I respect you as someone who is a mainstay on this board, and I appreciate you calling us on it.

I want to call for the Lufkin fans to rise above the fray and show the class that our players and community exhibit and deserve.

I know they're feeling their oats, but it seems like today is worse than I ever remember. I wouldn't have said anything if it wasn't coming from all sides. Not everything is coming from rookies, though.

I don't even worry about how many posts I'm getting, but it has been quite a few today.

It's not all just trash talking, either. I've seen a bunch of stupid things said, too.

I've seen stuff in numerous threads. I just refuse to fight the stupidity I see.

You guys should hear these announcers for Abilene Wylie and Gainesville! I don't how these guys can have a voice after hollering for 6 games over the last 2 days at Texas Stadium!:D

It also sucks for those of us who just now joined in order to talk serious tx football and become regulars on this site, then because of our post count, instantly get discarded as no credit noobs. i've been vivisting this site for years just never signed up and as soon as I do you have these clowns on here talking nonsense, sad really.

I wouldn't say it's the worst day ever - it's the same every year - Cove 05 replaces Lake from 04 - add a few others and it's the same just different year.

Crank_It, I can only speak for myself. I don't discount anyone's posts because of their post count. However, there have been times when their post count verified my suspicion because of something that they posted. Most of the time I don't even look at the post counts. We all started at 0, and we've all posted ignorant posts. It's part of the learning curve.

Thanks for posting here, I look forward to engaging you in some serious football talk. I think you will find the administrators (KT2000, ktchamp97, and others) do a great job on this board.

At the begining of the playoffs, I was kind of a closet CC fan. Hoping they did well.

Frankly, I am looking forward to a 40 point loss to either Lufkin or SLC.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with post count. Nobody thinks low post counts is a sign of having a lack of intelligence to speak. I will say that you see a lot of people that really get off on the wrong foot in their first post and my first thought is that they won't be here very long. I've seen some real good posters from the first post. Some will tell you a bunch of posts isn't a sign of intelligence, either!;)

Be patient folks. In about 3 weeks everything will return to normal. Cove has some good fans. I met a lot of them when we went to thier house earlier this year. These ones ruining it for all of them will dissapear when they get a dose of reality in the next couple of weeks. I'm not wishing anything bad on them or thier team, I just know that the inevitable is coming. Lufkin posters are taking it all in stride. I'm surprised the Garland folks are enging them at this point. We see it every year about this time. Let's just keep it cool and they will be thier own demise.

At least I didn't run and hide and never be seen again whenever my team lost after I hyped my team before the game. And even the most optimistic high school football fan can't deny the fact that Trinity's path to the state semis has been a cakewalk

The only experiences I have are with Cove fans. I don't know if it was because we both have a lot of support on this board or what, but that was the most trash talk I've ever seen on this board in about 2 years of visiting it.

as someone said earlier in the thread its just the excitement of fans who's teams are doing well. Cove arent used to being this deep, and so their fans are naturally excited about it...and some dont know how to handle it. Things will be back to normal soon.

i have noticed a lot of new usernames with low post counts within the past couple of weeks

You know i think some of you may just be intimidated or something. To constantly point the fingers at Cove is crazy. I know Lufkin has done it, Judson has done it, and Garland for sure.
Yeah we may be excited as this is our first time this far in the playoffs but give a little break cause every school has had some posters that get a little crazy with their posts. Almost every member of this board has said something that has offened someone at some point.
To those i may offend from time to time i apologize and for the "rookies" that are really giving the rest of the Cove supports a bad name i apologize for them.

Most of the really inflamatory posts have come from new members, and most (not all, but most) of them are from kids. But not all new members are that way - the good ones will stick around, the posers will be gone by Christmas.

Some veteran posters get drawn in, too. We are all passionate about our teams on this site. That's what makes it so good (and addicting).

Cove, by no means, has a corner on the market of trash talking. Most of their posters are pretty cool, and its been fun bantering back and forth with them.

Three great weeks to go - best of luck to those who remain.

True and i can agree that we Cove fans have 3 or 4 that can stir the pot of stupidity. Including myself at times when i get drawn in to the "trash talk".
I usually kick myself afterward but so is life to make mistakes and go on.

I definately think the moderators are watching the trash talking a little closer now and shutting the truely trashy stuff down.

Good job.

Plano / SLC

AMC / Trinity

Cove / Lufkin

to name a few.....

I do believe that this will be the biggest game in school history for Cove, and in front of the biggest crowd, I'm sure the Purple nation will be out in force, saw it last year at Cedar Park game..

looking forward to some good and insightful banter with the LP fans

Plano is one of the most resepctful progams in not only the metroplex but the entire state. Lewisville and Plano are rivals on the field but I know many Famer fans are pulling for Plano and have gained encouragement from their comeback from the cellar. This week you will see how passionate Wildcat fans are and the tradition and spirit that is Plano football.
They also have one of the better bands you will see.

every program will do that on a message board. I know when Lewisville gets back to respectability that we will have some jackass fans come on here talking a lot of crap. It comes when you win. Lose with dignity and win with grace is how I think people should approach things but I know in this world people dont do that.

Hey, I'm one of the new posters on this forum so I hope I'm not lumped in with the rest. I agree that part of it, at least from the Cove fans, is the excitement of being in this stage of the playoffs for the first time. And I would venture to say, I can't prove this, but most of those that are stirring up trouble are kids. One thing I take pride in with our team is that they play hard and with a lot of class. And our community, for the most part, is the same way. We all have our knuckleheads. But I am proud to be a Dawgs fan and will continue to be proud no matter what the outcome is on the field. I think we'll win Friday, but if we don't, I'll be man enough to come back in here and congratulate Lufkin and wish them well.

I read the topic and figured the thread would be about the day lonny made up a game, got it posted on here and read over the radio as truth, and then was followed by an untimely mock article from the "Expense News" about the UIL claiming 26-5a had an unfair advantage in Region 4 so they were doing away with the fourth region. I found both humorous, but had they been from up north, I probably would have believed also.
