Drgbkr let me correct you. Texas has 12 kids on Rivals 100 list. In fact Texas & California have the most in the nation at 12.

You missed:

LB- Michael Morgan - Dallas
Ot- J. Webb - N. Mesquite
DB- Dan. Johnson - Spring woods
DB- Deon Beasley - West Orange
RB- Mon Williams - Mesquite Horn
Db- Parrish Cox - Waco Univ.
Lb- A. Lewis - Haltom

That Mesquite area has been putting out tons of talent the last 6 or so years.

Also during the Rose Bowl. Keith Jackson said, " I keep saying Mesquite, Tx alot. There sure must be alot of good football players in Mesquite, Texas." :D

Sucks cause Parrish Cox lives right across the street from Waco High...but goes to Waco University all the way across town. He attended Lake Air Middle School right next to Waco High.

Yeah, I heard that too. I nearly fell out of my chair. It's nice to get some recognition every now and then because it hasn't exactly translated to state titles, even though Mesquite High won it in 2001, and lost to Midland Lee in the semis in '99. It's spread out over five high schools.

Ya, I saw the 99 Mid Lee vs Mesquite game. That was like a freak show seeing big ole " marco martin" run that football like he did. That kid is an athlete. Sure wish he would turn it on at UT.

It was just to much Benson that day in 1999.

They must not know anything about Hewitt the cornerback from Lufkin. He,s one of the best in the country.11 picks last year, 4 of them in one game, one with a torn ACL and runs a 4.4 or and his vertical leap is out of the gym, the only one on the basketball team that could dunk at 5,10.

Ya, its hard to believe that Hewitt isnt one of the top 100 kids in America. His legit though. I know those list change about 5 times over the coarse of the year. My bet is his on the Final Top 100 Rivals list come December 2005.

If he stays healthy and applies himself, he will be playing on Sundays in about four years, this kid is for real people, got tons of colleges after him already.

I was also very impressed with the LB- Mandela Roberts. He showed me alot of speed and skill. I'm sure his going to have a few choices of offers come Febuary.

Another name that Geoff Ketchum mentioned was Phillip Payne. He said that when they were doing a list they made 90 players easily but had trouble with the final 10. So they made a list of people on the "bubble" and Phillip Payne was considered on the bubble. Also i did ask him about Hewitt and he said when players have an injury as serious as an ACL tear, you can't just throw them around in rankings, because ACL tears can competely change the way you play, and your mantality (basically when your playing your hoping it doesnt happen again). Because Terrell Reese from Pflugerville Hendrickson was an amazing reciever as a sophomore at Pflugerville (he's a solid 6'4" 190 and was one of the faster people in a fast Pflugerville program). He would be getting alot more recognition if it wasnt for his ACL tear. If Hewitt has a healthy year, he will find his way into the top 100.

yeah that surprises me a little. last year lufkin had 2 on the top 100 in the u.s. in j lane, and m dixon. j lane's brother jermichael finley from diboll was also in the top 100 last year. i figured that longview would have a few and i thought lufkin would have a few in m roberts, and l hewitt. i think lufkin's aj penson is a lock to be on next years list. mark my words. oh well, it just makes a player want to play harder when they get excluded from a top list.

I'm a little surprised to see Mon Williams from Horn instead of Mcgee from Longview. I admit that Mon's size is more suited for RB, but I think Mcgee is the better back at this point.

I agree. I definately think Mcgee should be on the list along with many others. I can't believe no one from Lufkin made the list. I know earlier in this thread they mentioned Hewitt not making the Top 100 b/c of his knee injury, but I still think that is a mistake b/c of his 11 int's last year. Injured or not, Hewitt deserves this list b/c of last year's numbers.

He won't dominate in the Carroll game...you know he did nothing last year against the Dragon D....

If you put Moody on a good team, he rushes for 2000 yards last year.
