And the correct answer is: Other
Trinity 1992 Div 1. The team with the best record in Region 1 that year was San Angelo Central at 7-3, and most of the other teams were 5-5 or 4-6. SAC totally dominated Trinity statistically at their home stadium, but Trinity came away with the unlikely win. Trinity's semifinal opponent was Arlington, also 5-5 in the regular season. Trinity didn't play a real football team until the finals, when they encountered Judson, and we know how that turned out. But the unexpected playoff run was fun anyway; it signaled that Trinity was back.

Getting to the Region or State Semi's is never a cake walk. Each team earns that spot. Teams get better as the year goes on and records should be thrown out the door in the playoffs.

Yeah, but my team, or the Irving Tigers, making it as far as Trinity has right now would not be out of the question. Fossil Ridge was beaten by Irving(we beat Irving), Plano East was average at 6-6 and Franklin would do no better than 7th in most DFW area districts.

You beat Irving without their running back - ya'll wouldn't do it again. bhs06 get over yourself - Bell wasn't even close to making the playoffs - but the band that was an awesome 3rd place win for your school. Keep on marching - if you want to be in the playoffs so badly maybe you should pick up an instrument.

YOU GUYS BEAT US WITHOUT MAURO AND BLACKWELL!
My point being that one player does not make a team, they still had all other players on their team for that game and they did not win.

Common opponents do not always tell the story. It was the first game of the season.
Ridge had 4 defensive starters out with an injury during the Irving game. Irving was at full strength.
Also, Ridge had 7 new starters on defense and several sophomores.
Ridge got much - much - better as the year went on when - starters came back and the defense gained some experience.
If you are going to use the Irving game as a battle cry for Bell, you should at least know the story.

BHS06... You are truely amazing. You are an expert about every team in the state of texas. The sad part is that you have no life for someone so young. Face the fact that Bell is terrible, which means you obviously didn't do much to help that team do any better than it did. THS knew you would use the fact that Mauro didn't play in the game which was a total butt kicking even with your pathetic classless excuse of running out of the tunnel during THS alma mater. Look at the sorry numbers Mauro put up for the year. With the awesome record Bell had, do you really think anyone can take your "knowledge" of anything seriously? You don't like THS, it obvious and this is the only venue that you can spew your hatred anyway you can since you sure as hell can't do it on the football field. What is it now...7 in a row that Bell has gotten their butts kicked by THS. I guess i'd use this venue also if my team was so pathetic. Especially, since you have to play there again how many years? Get over yourself. Seeing you create this thread is no surprise. However, it just solidifies yourself as the King of total stupidity and hatefulness!!! Maybe you should disappear again like you did after THS kicked Bells butt 42-0. It was a pleasure not reading your garbage for so long.

You had a chance in the 3rd and 4th quarters with our backups to do something and couldn't - Stop whinning about THS and do something about being a better sport. Good sportsmanship is a lifelong skill that you haven't learned yet. Stop with all the THS bashing - it gets old - it is only useful the week we play and after that it is pointless!!!!!!!
This thread is kinda pointless - whether we think it is easy or hard doesn't really matter - the teams are in the playoffs - they are leaving it on the field each week - one team wins and moves on - the other goes home to get ready for next year. The trophy doesn't say "State Champions via the Easy Path" and "State Champions via the Hard Road"
Support your teams and stop degrading their efforts and the efforts of the other teams. We should all know by now that the playoffs are for bragging rights and because people in Texas would die without football (me included) BUT more than that it is about MONEY for the schools. Why else would we have added a 3rd team let alone add a 4th team next year!

I goto UTSA, so it isn't all that far of a drive for me. I want to thank Lonny for posting the games to watch and directions to all the stadiums for me before the season.
I've seen SV play Raegan, Judson and Macarthur, just didn't leave those games impressed. I've also seen Madison play Roosevelt, Churchill, and SA Clark in the playoffs..again, wasn't too impressed with them either.
I saw Katy play Cinco Ranch, and honestly left that game thinking they could be beat, but what they did to Beaumont Westbrook changed my mind. They moved the ball at will and played extremely good defense. I don't think Madison's or SV's defense would be able to stop the Tiger offense, too balanced. But, Madison and SV could move the ball on offense against the Tigers, but it wouldn't be for more than 1 or 2 scores.
I'll be attending the SV-Madison game this weekend. What time is kickoff? I know they're playing about 5 minutes from me, just need to know what time and day. Friday or Saturday?

Why are you calling Mauro's season a failure? Through his first 4 games he was doing pretty good! Then he sprained his ankle which bothered him the next 2 games against Irving and still led the winning drive. He hurt it worse in the 1st quarter against SGP and he didn't return to the field until Week 8, and in that case we were eliminated from playoff contention so our team started to play musical quarterbacks. He had a great season and it payed off from his scholarship to Northwestern, how many THS players are getting full rides to colleges? Unlike your offense the offense we run relies on the Quarterback... the only person who could have been prepared to play the game against you guys was Mauro and he was hurt. We took someone who knew our offense to its fullest for 3 weeks and has never started a game in his life, not even in Jr. High, and still did pretty good completing over 50% of his passes. He had a TD pass called back late in the 1st half and had he not been hit when he threw his interception that would have been a TD too since DeAndre English had no one within 20 yards of him on that post. Oh, he also had 2 other TD passes dropped in that game because our half back could not hold onto the ball on the screens that were good for touchdowns after watching the game film. The game was not as bad as the score indicated, could have easily been closer had we not made those mistakes.
I know everything from that game, I have a copy of the game film and watch it a lot. I see things that no one else will know or remember.

BHS06..lets stop the crying now. Bell finished 3-7, 2-5 in district. Heck Bell was trailing GP at halftime right. Stop making excuses for the pathetic team you play for. You did predict going 7-0 in district correct? I believe you fell far short of that. But lets look at this. Mauro was 96-196-12 for 1347 yrds with 9 Td's. that is a 49% clip. You consider this a success in a spread offense? I'm glad to see he got a scholarship, however, the numbers speak for themselves. I'm sure being a qb at 6'5 helps. Hopefully the numbers will get better in college, but if you're running a spread offense with 4 or more wide receivers, how would you consider this being good numbers? Maybe its reflective of the Bell team. Stop trying to continuously bash THS. It is old. With your expertise at your age, i'm surprised you aren't somekind of TV analyst with your vast knowledge on every team you post about. Its obvious you don't like THS. Fair enough since you got your butt kicked again and you attend BHS. But accept the facts. Why keep up with all of this? What was the point of the thread anyway. I'm sure it was just to get people like you on here to bash THS. If that is your goal.. Go for it.. But all you have to do is think back. When did Bells season end?

haha, in the words of the late, great rick james "that was, COLD-BLOODED!"
I was at that game and it sure did come down to the wire but sv pulled it through in the end, 24-20 if i remember correctly. Andrew Woodchick bought a lot of time to run the clock out by scrambling his *** off at the end of the game.

To whom are you referring as "Owned" and "Ownedee".
I certainly hope you don't claim to be a Katy Tiger fan.
Last I remember, we (KT) were sent home packing when SV stood in our way to the championship games, getting beaten by SV in 2002 and looking past Clear Lake to SV last year.
That matchup doesn't exist this year. There is only Katy vs Cy-Falls and SV vs. SAMadison.
Everything else is dribble.

Here's my .02 on the local teams.
SV doesn't always look good, but they win games. SV takes their game up a notch in the playoffs and you can't judge their regular season performance as a barometer for the postseason.
Madison typically plays worse as the season moves along. They played better in the Clemens game than the last 2 weeks. They might have a good performance in them, but it looks like SV is further ahead now than last month.
Judson is not the same team now as they were at the beginning of the year. They have multiple RB's and have a healthy line now. They usually get better as the season goes along, but they also play up to their opponent's strength.

Division I has 4 teams playing this weekend. Division II has 8 teams. Anybody think THEIR team has an EASY game this weekend?? Last weekend?? Round 1??
It's OK for us to discuss this 'easy path' thru the playoffs but ANY team that believes in this stupidity will not be there next week to enjoy their 'easy ride'.
Only 2 winners out of 96 teams. Every team will be required to prove itself to win the championship.

The funny thing is the week we should be handing out laurels is the week we trash the most teams. I did firings for fun, but stopped after Week 12. It's hard to advance and I have to give credit to every team that gets to Thanksgiving week and beyond.
