Nothing against Pearland in my vote that they go down. I'll just be really interested to see how they handle the speed of Clear Lake. If CL can keep a handle on the ball, they stand a really good chance in this one.
Not cheering for either team, by the way. May the best team win. :notworthy

You really think Pearland and Trinity are stone cold locks to advance?
Would not be surprised if neither one advances.

Just - irresistible force meets an immovable object.
Haven't you heard of North Shore's state - record consecutive 78 regular-season game winning streak?:notworthy

Trinity/Plano could really go either way. I pick Plano.
North Shore/Hightower is going to be a defensive slugfest. I pick Hightower.
Los Fresnos/McAllen Memorial could go either way. I pick Los Fresnos.
Permian should roll over Burleson.
Pearland should destroy Clear Lake.

how did they make it in??????
They were 4-6 (3-3 in district 3-5A) and came in fourth in district. Due to size, they were the D2 "runner-up".
They played 4-6 (4-2 in district) Arlington Martin in the first round. Martin was in a three-way tie for second in their district, but due to size and tie-breakers were considered the D1 "winner".
Interestingly enough, 4-6 Burleson is the only team from district 3-5A to advance past the first round. 10-0 Abilene lost to 6-4 Mansfield and 9-1 Richland lost to 9-1 Arlington Bowie in D2. Then, 4-6 North Crowley lost to 6-4 Arlington in D1.
Ain't it great when four teams from six or seven team district advance to the playoffs!! Or, look at district 15-5A where 3-6 Langham Creek made it to the playoffs.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack. There was another thread for this subject, but wanted to answer Rocketgrl about Burleson.
