Tony Romo made one man very happy, and it had nothing to do with throwing touchdowns. The Dallas Morning News reported on Wednesday that the Cowboys quarterback took a homeless man to the movies recently.
The man, who goes by Doc, was outside a theater in in Dallas when a man came up and offered to pay his way to see a movie. Planning on passing out fliers for a consignment store across the street, Doc declined. But then he realized that he had just turned down Romo.
He ran across the street, asked for the day off and ran back to the theater. Romo and Doc ended up sitting together watching the movie "Role Model." Doc told the newspaper that he informed Romo that he hadn't showered in days. "Don't worry about that," Romo said, according to the newspaper. "I'm used to locker rooms."
Romo reportedly also changed the tire of a couple on the way home the night of the season opener and showed up to a high school pep rally with actor Will Smith earlier this week. He confirmed the encounter with Doc but wouldn't elaborate.
This latest gesture really impressed Doc. "For me, it was a blessing," Doc said. "It came at just the right time. It gave me some encouragement and faith in mankind. I just wanted to say thank you."

This is what impresses me the most about Tony. He's a class act, and he's a humble, down to earth guy. If the world had more people like him, it'd be a better place. You know the old saying; "Never forget where you come from." Not sure about Tony's past but, he could definitely teach others a lesson.

Yet another example of why the media should get off this kid's back. He also reached out to a certain hs qb after an infamous fumble about this time last year. You look at all he does on the field and off the field and have to believe he's one of the really good ones, maybe even a great one. Now think of all the grief the experts give him. Think of all the guys they've tried to bring down, for one reason or another, who proved them soooooo wrong. Peyton, Eli, Elway ect.... Does it make you sick or are you one of them? I hope it turns y'alls stomach like it does mine. Romo is the real deal, in life and on the field. I respect that.

This! But, they'll NEVER get off of his back. As a matter of fact, I just hope they keep hatin' on him. All he'll do is keep proving the naysayers wrong. First, they said that the bobbled snap in Seattle would ruin his career. As you, and everybody else knows, he bounced back by having a huge year last year. Then, there was the playoff loss to the Giants, and the horrible 14 seconds he had against the Eagles earlier this year. Once again, the man bounced back, and continued to show that he's resilient. He keeps battling, and fighting until the final gun sounds. Too bad you/we can't have all 11 on offense and defense just like him.
