every good team that plano has played this season has racked up serious rushing yds against them this season, of course the plano east, plano west,
irv mac, and jesuit's of the world didnt fare too well, but i said good teams,
no dissrespect to those mentioned, but everbody else put up serious numbers,
even duncanville had well over 300 yds last week, and now they are getting ready to play one of the best rushing-ball controll teams in the state??
if plano wins the coin flip sat, i would definitely take the ball, no deferring,
for i dont think that would be wise..plano could win this game BUT, if they
follow suite with what they have done so far this season against good
teams, they may not get the ball but 4 or 5 times the whole game, unless
turnovers occur of course, good health to both teams sat night...

ps. again this is just an observation... not meant to harm or anger.......

I agree. I think Plano will score some points. they might even score on 75 % of their possessions, but that could mean 3 or 4 possessions of scoring. people laugh that we say Trinity purposefully call plays that extend drives, instead of quick strikes, but they don't understand. Trinity can score just a fast as anyone. I remember SEVERAL drives that covered 80+ yards and consisted of 2 or 3 plays under 1:30 taken off the clock. They work to get the lead, and the "Time Warp" offense comes out. If Plano cannot stop the run, they will be in trouble. And Like I said, if they score 75% of the time, that is about 28 points.

I guess the counterpoint would be most of Trinity's games(6 of 11) haven't come as easy as many fairly or unfairly thought. I've taken to not underestimating Trinity's ability to bring out the very best in it's opponents this year, and I expect to see the same from a 10-1 Plano team on Saturday. Also without a doubt turnovers, giving the Plano offense more possessions is something that can compensate for any defensive deficiency.

Does anyone have any statistics on scoring efficiency for Trinity? Seems like someone on this board used to post those stats.

You're just now noticing this? You'd better go tell Lineweaver, he also may be unaware...

I agree with the two posts above- #1 Trinity's opponents tend to play there very best against them- they know that beating trinity would make their season. Also, on the games I've seen on TV, the score doesn't really reflect how Trinity dominates the LOS with their big O-line and ball control. When they want to, they can esily keep the ball 6-8 minutes at a time- I think Trinity will control the ball & the clock and beat Plano handily.

We're waiting for Matt Diggs official pre-game analysis and will just pass that along to him.

If there are no turnovers by EITHER team....Trinity wins

If Plano wins the turnover battle, Plano might win.

Okay, Please! No more posts antagonizing Plano with stats! Please! With all due respect.

In my opinion, all these stats. are out the window! Plano will come into this game with something to prove, and with revenge on their mind. That can't be put down on paper. Every team in the playoffs is a different team than week 3, week 5, etc. Just look at all the adjustments we have made, have many holes we have plugged and the adjustments we make from week to week. It is no different at Plano, and this is high school football where we don't know what team is going to show up each week.

I say leave the rest on the field. We can win a war of words on a football blog, but it doesn't mean anything on the field.
