if america's team means the team that everyone except southlake fans love to see lose, then i'd say yeah, and keep it coming.

Thats crap and you need to shut it. Carroll's players are not faster or stronger than the other good teams in Texas. They're just better.

Thats right..they had to widen all the doors at the high school & put heavier springs on the busses...thats so when they lift-em they can throw em down with out hurting them...c'mon weber..surely you can bring it better than that....

no, all that means is that SLC was that good and executed their gameplan. A-High was just not on SLC's level last nite.

the team you heard about that had several members who admitted to be using steroids was colleyville heritage. no gvine or slc players were implicated.

well if tu ever scores again it'll be too soon. they are definitely not america's team. they aren't even for a majority of texans.

SLC will never be america's team, texas' team or anything but southlake's team as long as there's other teams in other areas trying to do the seemingly impossible and take them from the top, but it can be done:D

Well ddaddy, since you're going off against my Longhorns today, I'll have to point out that I agree with your last post, quoted above, since structurally "they are not worthy of any love" refers to "rice".
BUT HOW ABOUT THEM DRAGONS!!!!!

No high school will EVER be America's team. There are over 14K in America. Many people have never even heard of SLC.
No college team will EVER be America's team. There are almost 120 D1 schools and many people hate the state of Texas and all our teams.
The Dallas Cowboys were NEVER America's team. Even in a 26 team NFL, I doubt the Cowboys were more than 20% of the fans favorite team. A few years ago, the Cowboys were the most popular NFL team, but only had 10% of the vote.

they may well be "americas team" but i think i will stick to some down home football out here in mansfield where when our boys put on their pads and helmets they know that there is going to be a game, not a blowout.

i guess you would rather not be the best team on the field, but instead be competitive. i'll take the best team we can field, and let the chips fall where they may.

Deep following outside of the community? YES
I have met people from various areas who follow SLC every week once they hit the playoffs!!

I'll cut him some slack because he said they could be the next dynasty, which makes it contingent on winning this year.

I know they'll pick up a few fans, but I bet they don't have any kind of market share on being a lot of people's favorite team. I'm doing a poll on this subject to find out who we like.

i would much rather watch good football then watch blowout every week. there is no doubt your team is one of the best out there and they do put their best talent on the field as everyone does. im not trying to take anything away from you organization, but your games are boring plain and simple.

I will try to explain character success to you as simply as possible. Since our society has become one of instant gratification and a corporate world that will compromise anything to gain a buck, we do not understand success that is derived from hard work, perseverance and respect. We can't believe that anyone gets ahead or wins from hard work, sweat and trusting teammates as if they were family. The reason we can't believe is because we've cheated ourselves out of the greatest joy there is within winning and that is the price you have to corporately suffer to achieve. So you can either buy in with the unbelievers who are too lazy to understand what character success is or, you can learn a little bit about this (and other successful character programs) and admire the kids and the coaches who have worked to give you a few hours of enjoyment from a team that is truly special.

on the other hand, when it's your kids doing it, it isn't quite as boring. watching thru the sides of the aquarium, i see why you say that. wearing the rings after 16 of these wins is completely different. instead of complaining to slc, maybe you should be railing on the opponents for not keeping up.

SL has very good athletes. No need to bring up a negative. They may not be stronger but I would have to say that has to be one of the fastest receiving corps to ever play on the same HS football team.
As far as destroying Abilene: The fact is the stars would have to have been aligned in a big way for us to win, however, Abilene committed 4 turnovers that were killers. You cannot do that against a high octane offense. I am very heart sick today about the way this ended. Abilene is a better team than what we witnessed last night. Oh well it was a great season. 24-2 in the last two years and both losses to SLC.
Hey we beat their tennis team and basketball team this year.
Good luck to SL. You have a great team and a great fan base.
I will have trouble jumping on the band wagon due to the fact Dodge never really pulled the dogs off. That kind of grits against my West Texas roots. It seems he has migrated to a run it up mentality since first breaking into the elite team category in 03. One of these days one of the stars are gonna get hurt when the game is well in hand and his judgement will be questioned.
Never the less, a great team.

he takes trash talking by his fellow coaches to heart. he did take mc out after a running play so everyone could acknowledge his play. the seconds on slc play like our firsts, so the skill people don't drop off in ability when they are in. congrats to the eagles on 2 great seasons in a row. cosidering where you were just a few short years ago, it's been a great run.
