Lufkin, no doubt about it. I think they are the only team in the state that has a chance at knocking off Southlake. However, I still believe that Southlake will roll easily over the everyone this year. They made a believer out of me last night

Lufkin is faster than Cove. Sorry Cove fans, hate to say it, but they are. Cove is fast too, but Lufkin is fast at every position. They remind me a lot of the 2000 Beaumont Ozen team I played against. Lufkin has 4 or 5 really fast receivers and 2 fast backs. Their defense is fast everywhere. That #10 and #7 are exceptionally fast. Cove has the fast RB and 1 or 2 fast receivers and the QB can run. On defense Cove is not near as fast as they were last season but one of their LB and DB are really fast.

Even though Cove was very fast from what i saw, their is no way they are as fast as the Lufkin i've seen over the past few years (if they are anything like that), but i do think that Cove will find a way to pull this game out. I dont know if you would call it an upset, but Cove was a very disiplined team and if Lufkin isnt, then they might get hit in the mouth.

SG v Lufkin game isn't over yet, but I doubt much more will happen in SG's favor, aside from some penalties, as Lufkin seems to be racking them up in the 2nd half.

Man what a game what a game coming up.

Lufkin and Cove.

going to be a great game and the sad thing is someone will loose and get to play etiher SLC or Plano. man the road to state gets harder the last 2 weeks nothing but great matchups the old tradition of Plano vs new powerhouse to 5A in SLC.

you got lufkin and Cove.- Lufkin with tradition of late and a Cove team trying to do something they have not done before.

I think NO DOUBT that this will be the best game all year to this point! Two of the best teams in the state goin at it, u cant ask for much more than that! Cove hasnt been this far and is not just trying...they are proving it every week....with every win, they are proving their program belongs (which they definately do)...and lufkin has recent history (fact--not long time history, but recent history)

BTW....are you in Troop 82?...Cub Scouts or Weblos?

you're right that Lufkin is slow....yep, i think the fastest guy on the team on a good day is a 4.8-4.9

I watched Lufkin play Harker Heights. They are definitely fast, but so is Cove. Team speed vs. team speed, I'd say it's a toss up. Guess we'll find out for sure on Friday.

I have no doubt CCove is plenty fast - but Lufkin just keeps adding more depth to their speed. Check out super soph Darrius Terry from yesterday:

He suckers the qb and steps in front of a slant pass and heads 60 yards the other direction - not sure how he doesn't score. The kid is a sophomore that played JV this year! Lufkin always brings out a super soph in the po's every year. McKinner Dixon, Dez Bryant, now Darrius Terry - the kid will be awesome next year.
