What do you think since S.V. will not have to play North Shore , Pearland or even Trinity in the state game so does S.V. have a shot this year????

They still have to play either Reagan or Warren. They are no one to sneeze at.

Well, the road will have to go through Reagan/Warren in region 4.
Region 3, looks like if SV can make it to the semis, they would be playing the winner of next weeks Katy/West Brook game.
SLC, Hebron, Wylie, and Arlington Bowie all look good in R1, but of course by that point they'd only have to play one of them.
R2 is a mystery to me. Lake Highlands looks pretty good. Lufkin is scrappy. But Naaman Forest, Copperas Cove, and Cy Ridge also look good.
So, SV has their work cut out for them, but they're off to a good start.

Not--if you can only beat Pflugerville by 7 points, I'll be surprised if you get to the regional finals or the state semi-finals. Pflugerville had an unusually good football team last year. This year, they're just good. And yes, they beat us also by a similar score--half way through the season.
Good coaching helps--that's always been considered a strength for your team and weakness for Pflugerville. However, your team and my team have a lot of similarities. If either of us get to state finals it will be because we are able to match up with the teams in our draw, not because we're unstoppable. I suspect, like with us, if you face a team with too much superior talent, it's going to negate the coaching advantage. That happened to us with North Shore in 2003, and I suspect you've been there also. By the same token, give us a team with similar strengths and weaknesses, like SLC, and we can outperform expectations.
It's not impossible . . . but I would focus on the games ahead of you, not dream of a state title yet. I don't think you've demonstrated any kind of domination or brilliance that would presage that. And if you're thinking about the state rankings . . . don't forget Judson. That's as much media hype as anything else. You're one of the favored "token" Central Texas representatives because most of those who rank teams never see us play during the regular season.

Well it was a Judson fan who started this thread...and me who egged it on.:o CKE is the only SV fan who has posted, and he said they were focusing on O'Connor.

We will not run inoto a defense better than we played today.You say not beating P-ville by 7 but I guess that you have not heard that almost all of the games today were close..Hebron won in the last 20 sec. and they are proly the best team coming form the other side of the bracket now that Abilene is out.We will take it one game at time like always

Man Reagan vs SV in the Regional Finals would be awesome. Probably in the down with a packed house... hopefully a better result thn last year... but both teams have a lot of work to do. Warren is very good and O'connor is playing good ball also.

Man Reagan vs SV in the regional finals would be awesome.. packed house in the dome most likely... hopefully with a better result than last year. That being said, they both have a lot of work to do. Warren is very solid and O'connor is playing good ball right now.

IMO Judson beat Warren when Judson was on top of their game. SV beat Judson when Judson was on the top of their game and SV wasn't yet.
SV will roll Warren imo and Reagan pshhh....SV will step it up.

After watching them win today and NOT KNOWING the rest of the bracket, I only see them winning one or two more games and that is it.
They are good but not state championship worthy IMO.
Their coaching, QB and #35 will only get them so far.
There QB was sacked I think 4 or 5 times today.

Yeah lets leave out the defense that is only allowing 12 points per game and let Pflugerville get past the 50 only twice and not in filed goal range with a kicker that can kick 50 yards...they won't help at all.

To stop the wing-T you have to have a disciplen Defense which SV has.

You guys were better than that by week 3. Reagan has improved too. So has Warren. IMO, that's the match-up to see. I haven't seen much improvement from O'Connor.
That will be SV's toughest test until the region final with SA Southwest and Pharr San Juan Alamo North as the other two teams in SV's side of the bracket.

Wasn't pretty but this is the playoffs.80 yd drive to winthe game in the last 21 seconds.Covert 3rd and 18 along the way.SV just made a few plays when needed under difficult conditions.That's what I call the sign of a championship contender!

Thats a whole different argument...Judosn lost every game to the decent teams they played this year...It just did not seem like this years rocket team came together like the past years did because we know that the talent tradition and coaching is there...I do think it is time to adopt the forward pass though

Our run defense is very, very good. Our Secondary has been our achilles.

Not sure.....Very athletic team. I think that their D is suspect.......but I could be wrong. We(if we get by Humble) will have to shut down their RB. I think we can do that and make them throw for a lot to beat us. I would love tosee that game tho. But I would also like to see Katy v SV......and then the winner play SLC........thats been the best scenarios of the decade.

Today the first half was not very good, but the 2nd was better. We started bringing the house on the Blitzes. I think it caught them off gaurd.

It was 14-7 and it should have been 14-0 had it not been for the fumble on the punt and a birthday bounce into the hands of special teams for a T.D.! IT WAS TOTAL DOMINATION. Our defense is undersized as well as our offense BUT NOT OUR HEARTS.
