WB has an elusive QB. And they have a coach who QB'ed TJ ( P.A. Jefferson) in a state game so he has the smarts but not the talent to hang with Katy.
close 1st QTR but Katy runs away with this one (literally) after that.

WB has more speed than what Katy has seen in the first two rounds. Depth is a big issue for WB, but they do have some talented players. If the Tigers play efficiently like they have for most of this season, they should be fine.

Scooter.... I think it is suppose to rain this weekend like a 70% chance or summin like that.... don't you think that will change the out come of the game?

No not really because WB can run if they want to. That QB can make some plays so it shouldn't matter that much. Now if that ball is wet then he WILL have problem throwing. believe me, he will.

I wouldn't think so. If anything, it'd hurt West Brook since their main strength is speed/quickness and it's tough to cut and let loose on slick astroturf. However, Katy would also have to contend with the elements of course.
They are saying the worst of the storms will hit in the morning and then decreasing chance of rain from noon on. Hopefully, that is the case and the game is started and finished in the normal time frame.

your right KT, becuase we had some trouble with Humbles QB because he was so big and he could run........thats where I think most of the threat will come from.

Yeah, Johnson and Tunley combined for 300 rushing yards but just had 12 points until the very end of the game despite that. It's one of those "weird" things about the Katy defense to outsiders. In 2003, as you remember scooter, Charles rushed for 275 yards but his team lost 34-14. It will take much more than being successful on the ground. They need all facets of the game clicking unless Katy is doing some early gift wrapping.
West Brook brings more to the table in the way of playmaking ability (speed) than the first two opponents the Tigers have played for sure. It will take a disciplined effort all-around from the Tigers as usual.

Katy has been dominant in the air so far and doin pretty good on the ground but its not the same without Aston..
I was just think that with this weather that we are suppose to have our throwing game will not be top notch and Dean will have a hard time hanging on with that football.

Katy should win this and I want them to win since it was my next door town before.

It's a completely different offense from last year (and also diff. than 2001-2003), and they can score a lot quicker than any Katy team I can remember save for 2000. However, the ability to pass can also generate better ball control because any 3rd and medium/long becomes easier to manage.
The Tiger RBs have done well holding onto the ball since about mid-season in my opinion. Dean covers is up now. Of course, ball control is an issue any time you play in wet weather no matter how good or bad you are at it. West Brook has also had issues in the TO dept., and I'm not sure what they've been doing in that area recently.
Both teams will play in the same weather conditions so that's not going to be an excuse either way. It still comes down to who can best execute their game plan during the 48 minutes, and that'll obviously be the team that moves on.

one thing i have seen over the past 40 years is that some teams can execute better in wet weather better than others. i have only seen katy, but, they look like they can execute in any weather. it is just their basic offense and defense schemes that makes me feel that way. they do not seem to be prone to mistakes even if it is wet.

gldneagles, you are right. Katy is a team that has done well in inclement weather. I think they practice under the sprinklers atleast twice a week! HAHAHA!:D

Wet weather and astroturf tends to equalize the teams to an extent. So like KT said, turnovers tend to decide these types of games. I like Katy's chances because of their team discipline and focus in a game like this.

according to their stats, westbrook has fumbled about 2 1/2 times a game this year. Wet weather doesn't bode well for them improving those #s.
