What is the worst experience you have ever had with a fan/fans at a game?

flower mound kids making fun of us (coppell) for being angry/sad that we were knocked out of the playoffs last year after our game. playing with those seniors last year, it nearly killed me when we lost by 8 and them laughing and taunting us didnt show a lot of class. i sure hope our fans were more cordial when we returned the favor this year.

Mine was Rayville Louisiana. Their team got into it with their coaches. The fans got into it. The game had to be stopped before it actually ended. There was bricks and such being tossed thru our fans car windows and other such mess. It was really a weird scene. But it was only that one time. We went back over there for a playoff game the next year and all was well.
The only Texas fans I've ever had problems with was Longview fans several years back. I had tires on my truck cut. I cant say for 100% certainty who was responsible for it, but it sure looked bad the way the whole thing went down.
Really though, it's all water under the bridge.

I know when I was in high school before they moved the student section at Shotwell to the north end of the visitors side, we would give every team that came down the ramp hell. We would run our mouths and just taunt them so much to where we almost got in fights whether it was pregame or during the game.
But as a Fan, I would have to say in the '90s when i was a huge Abilene Cooper fan before the districts changed. We played Austin Westlake. They were the most takcy people. I distinctly remember them having bumper stickers saying "Were Rich. Were White. Where Westlake."

(Semi-Final) Plano vs Trinity 1993. I was walking up the ramp to leave after we lost and some punk kids kept yelling "Trinity who?" "Trinity who? " I told them to grow up and then a bunch of parents screamed at me to mind my own business. Then the dad threw a drink at me and said y'all suck ,you should practice harder.

Thrown drink = whopped ***.. if it hit you or a family member.
If it missed, smart remark would suffice.

Plano Trinity game '07
it seems weird, after both teams just played their heart out to go to play for a state title. I was walking out of TS after planos defeat, all decked out in maroon and some Trinity fans stared at me and started saying that Plano sucks and what not. I looked up to them to relize they were about 15 years old. What a shame, it didnt bother me at all because i knew that thoes teams that year were the exact same in talent.

The worst would have to be Longview. For the past two times Lufkin has traveled there, the Lufkin Band, Cheerleaders and Drill Team have been pelted with ice, food and who knows what else. This year a few of Longview's finest fans even tried to fight a Lufkin player after the game was over. The main problem is the lack of supervision of the Longview student section. That definitely needs some Administrative attention!!!

Standing at a football game? That's illegal at Abe Martin on the visitors side (except unless you're a Lp fan, then it's legal).

Now, I have more respect for North Shore than I do nearly any other team in the state. A big reason for that is that they have one of the overall greatest group of supporters on this site, and game after game I like the Mustangs more and more. Seeing Katy and North Shore go at it this year was awesome. People had been waiting near 10 years for that game to happen.
Now for my experience.
Some 15-year-old-looking North Shore kid sat on the Katy side and at the end of the game, as Katy fans were filing out after the game, he stood at the top of the bleachers waving a towel, yelling down at us, "Nooooooooooorth Shore! Nooooooooooooorth Shore!"
Had I been 15 too, I would have gone back in an thrown him down the stairs. :D

Highland Park fans heckling and cursing and insulting Ennis fans at Texas Stadium a few years ago from their suites......Skirt aggy strikes again....;)
Oh yeah. After the 2007 Katy/Strake game my friends and I were sitting in traffic when some Strake fans came walking through the Katy side of the parking lot. One of the girls stopped in front of our car and juked* at us. But she was hot, so we let it slide.
*That thing where people pop their head and shoulders forward like they're gonna hit you. I really have no idea what it's called. I think it's juked. Maybe some other j-word.

Everyone has annoying fans. Baylor certainly has a fine share of them. I can deal with the "whooping" and the annoying traditions that the Aggies go through with year after year. However, it is unacceptable when it gets to the point where you are throwing vulgar comments at people who you don't even know and hadn't said anything the entire game.

I sure hope so. Knowing Baylor and having seen us play all year, we'll find a way to screw it up.
Here's the Big XII in a nutshell.
Baylor has a rivalry with A&M.
A&M believes its rivalry is with Texas.
Texas believes its rivalry is with Oklahoma.
*Bob Stoops just wants to play football and run up the score on everybody.
*Insert Mike Leach's name there too.

I agree. They definitely do get nasty. I just see it more as a personal rivalry for A&M. UT seems to not hype it up as much as the Aggies do. I bet UT hypes it up some this year though. It's all Longhorns this Thanksgiving.

No doubt. I think a record will be broken this year. The game is going back to ESPN this year and not ABC. A&M is 9-0 on ESPN all time against Texas. Funny how that works out. One year Texas was ranked #2 and A&M wasn't ranked and some fluke of win happened for A&M. No more streak this year though. Texas rolls.

This one is easy and the reason I despise the Memorial Mustangs to this day - even though my mom's neighborhood is now rezoned to Memorial:(
We were standing on the sidelines in our short skirted drill team outfits in about 19 degrees and sleeting and we were freezing. The Mustangs fans (some kids, some adults) started throwing their food and drinks at some of us. Back then, chaperones didn't go to the other side when you went to perform because we didn't live a weinyville like we do now. So, as disciplined as we all were, we stood there with our hats falling over (those of us who got hit) and wet clothing and didn't move. The chaperone's and I believe the principal of the school came over and fixed everything and it was on with the show! I still can't stand those people - never have never will. Bears were always better than Mustangs anyway!!

I was at the first game the Cowboys ever played in Dallas... at the Cotton Bowl in 1960. Part of the celebration was to have Roy Rodgers ( king of the Cowboys) and Dale Evens drive around the stadium in a convertable and wave at the fans. Free end zone tickets were given out to anybody to get a crowd. When they got to the end zone area on thier drive around, all kinds of things came raining down on them; ice, cans, all kinds of things, it was nasty.
Roy went to the microphone at the 50 and said he didnt like that at all... then sang " Happy Trails". We did get to see Bobby Lane play football that night

As far as the A&M-Baylor thing goes..EVERY college has bad fans and most are just t-shirt fans. If you cant ignore heckling at game...why would you even go? Yes there are A LOT of "Aggies" that are annoying...most notably the corp, which I think is the absolute most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. The corp is nothing but a dying geek club that people enter to try and feel better about themselves..yes they talk a lot of crap at football games b/c they are insecure and idiots. I personally wish we would get rid of the corp.
As far as A&M and Texas not being a rivalry??? You have never been to an A&M-Texas football game. Even when a team is down, it's a rivalry.
As far as worst fans at a highschool game...hands down the Miami Northwestern -vs- SLC lat year at SMU. After the game I have never heard so much chit talking in my entire life, not even at an NFL game with fall down drunks. The Miami folks were dropping f bombs left and right..nobody was even saying anything to them and they just continued to insult people from Texas and cuss at us...I guess that win made them feel good about themselves and they needed to vent? Dont know but it was a joke!

I didn't hear that stuff, but I must admit, when we lose I get out quick because I know what is (probably) going to happen. I got out of Coppell mighty fast, so as far as what I witnessed at those two games personally, I saw happy fans. My daughter saw a bit different since she is with the band at the Coppell game, but not too bad really.
But, since you are an Aggie, :), do you recall a certain Rice game where the Rice Mob did a skit on a certain dog lifting its' leg on a fire hydrant? Some Aggies stood outside with their swords waiting, had the Rice folks cornered for a while inside. I hear those folks were suspended.

All schools have those "fans" that we would like to disown and ban from the games. I have never been to a game where there wasn't some kind of classless remark made by the opponents fans but I have never been to a game when it was ALL bad either.
I do think it's poor planning by ANY district to seat the home student section at the tunnel where the visitors are entering and exiting the field. Just a bad situation every time.

I have been looking forward to this game all year to see how Trent Hunter stacked up against the Longhorn offenese. Guess, I will have to wait until next year since Trent is probally out for the season. Sure made an impact at safety for A&M in the games he did play for a true freshman. T-Fred will have to take up the slack.
Sould be an easy win for Texas...

My junior year at Trimble Tech in 1998, we played our last game of the season against Diamond Hill-Jarvis. Going into the game, DH-J was 5-4, and we were 0-9. We were down 18-0 with 3 minutes to go, and, started a furious rally. With 17 seconds to go, we were down 18-12, and DH-J had the ball 4th and 1 on our 29. They decided to go for it because, we had no timeouts. We ended up stopping them for no gain, and we got the ball back with 6 seconds left. Well, we lined up, and sent everybody deep on that last play, and our QB threw it as far as he could The ball got tipped around a good 4-5 times (had my hands on it TWICE), and one of our recievers came down with it, and took it to the house to cap off a 72 yard TD pass. We kicked the extra point thru the uprights, and we won 19-18. People were crying...y'all would've sworn that we had won the Super Bowl! LOL! But, the drama didn't end there, it had actually started BEFORE the game was even played.
Before, and during the game, there had been tons of trash talking, and even on the days leading up to the game, there had been fights breaking out between the folks at our school, and DH-J. Both schools had been vandalized, with windows covered in graffiti, and some windows were even broken. When our team busses pulled up to Herman E. Clark Stadium on gameday, DH-J' busses were pulling up at the same time. At Clark, the home and visitors team lockerooms are RIGHT next to each other. A water balloon filled with bleach came flying into one of our busses, and one of our players had to be taken to the hospital before the game was even played. Needless to say, when both teams got off of the busses, all hell broke lose. That was BEFORE the game. AFTER the game was when it got real ugly, and my life would change forever!
We won in a dramatic fashion as i stated 2 paragraphs above, but, we had a teammate who was in the hospital dealing with issues that he had with his eyes from having the bleach hit him. well unless it was ACM fans shooting a paintball gun across the field and over the fieldhouse nothing could have been thrown on Permian..there is just no way.
I know all teams on all levels have bad fans..and that's fine, but when I read an accusation that is in no way true, I'm going to comment on it.

Westlake had the same stickers when we beat them at state in '01. Absolutely classless bumber stickers.

Right down FM 2004 from Hitchcock there's a little town called Santa Fe where they used to get upset when a "diverse" team like Columbia would travel to there town and beat them in a football game. We cleared the benches with them when I played JV in '83. Their coaches were trying to fight our players. I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't standing right there and saw it myself. Fans started to come out of the stands and enter the field. Cops were trying to hold people back. It was rediculous. Believe it or not, order was restored and we finished off the A$$ whuppin' and went on home to Brazoria and West Columbia with another W in the books against the Santa Fe Indians. :D I hope things are different down that way now a days, but I doubt it. :(

Dont know but it was a joke!
you are a f'n idiot... I wouldnt personally join the corp... but its tradition its what sets A&M apart from other schools...and people take pride in it... stfu

Any unprovoked adult that would be annoying and rude and disrespectful to other people at a high school game just because they get off on it is a major loser. Simple as that! I know Lufkin has their share of no life loser fan's just like that as many other school's do also. The vast majority that have more then 1 brain cell are very respectful and just simply go to support their alma mater and cheer their team or kids on the team on. The intelligent fan should know not to judge a whole fan base on a select few that are idiot's.

2006 4A D1 Championship us (Cove) against Alamo Heights
After a very good game that we lost, I was walking back to my car with a few friends decked out in my cove blue. About 6 different heights fans 35+ started talked trash to us, even tried to pick a fight with me and my friend, even shoved us once.
I don't have a problem if adults are heckling adults, or students heckling students, but when grown men are picking fights with 17 and 18 year old kids, in front of their wives and little kids, thats unacceptable

I was very close to that teammate, and still is. We found out during halftime, that he may lose one of his eyes and, it was hard to deal with coming out of the lockeroom for the second half. The cheap shots continued as the game went on, and after winning the game the way we did, DH-J decided that they weren't done with their antics. Being that we're already pissed from the news we got, and due to the fact that they wouldn't quit with the crap, more hell broke lose when we went to shake hands. Fights broke out, this time worse than the pregame fight, and when it was all said and done, alot of people were suspended from both schools, and sent to alternative schools for the remainder of the year.
When it was all said done, after completing my tenure at the alternative school, I transferred altogether to another school in the Fort Worth ISD. Being involved in that altercation, and having a friend lose sight in one eye, I started to look at things alot differently than before. I'm not proud of going thru it, but, sometimes, there are things you just have to go thru to learn a lesson and wake up. My parents are the best that I could ever ask for, but, none of it was THEIR fault. I was just a clown who didn't want to do right. But, I feel like going thru this situation was something that I needed, and I'm glad that it happened when I was young.
That's horrible. I remember reading about that in the FWST.
Those DH-J kids didn't play around. We had to play them in middle school about 10 years before your incident and there was all kinds of crap before, during, and after the game. Hated going there.
But at least we whipped their butts. Luckily nothing serious ever happened.

I have seen and heard alma maters booed and applause when a player got hurt. That's about the worst I have seen in Texas. Now when I went to an all boy primarily white catholic high school, we played in the Baltimore City league. I am sorry to say I am familiar with what happens when knives and other weapons make it onto the field. the embarrassin part was that it was mostly our players that had the weapons. Ugly times for sure.

You know, people are ***** nowadays and all, but back in the day....
Worst fans I ever saw were at Terrell, mid 70's. We won a close game in the last second and had people throwing drinks, ice, etc., on the way to the locker room. The coaches looked outside at the path to the buses and saw many of their fans waiting to throw more stuff. They just said "put your helmets back on boys and let's make for the bus." That we did and most of what was thrown by their fans then were rocks.

flower mound kids making fun of us (coppell) for being angry/sad that we were knocked out of the playoffs last year after our game. playing with those seniors last year, it nearly killed me when we lost by 8 and them laughing and taunting us didnt show a lot of class. i sure hope our fans were more cordial when we returned the favor this year.
They should have not done that. They were very upset that your coach used Morriss to read our hand signals. We were onto that and gave different signs but your coach never should have used a kid that way. Those are kids he grew up with and they took it personally. So the taunting was directed at your coach and Moriss. I do know that Coach Vanderford told them not to but some took it to far. For that I am sorry they did it.

Flower Mound/Marcus game this year. The Marcus players told Ashley they were going to hurt him and they did. When Ashley was out cold on the ground the starters refused to take a knee and laughed about it. You cannot get anymore unsportsman than that.

My son and I were about to watch the last game of a triple header at the dome between CC Calallen and Kerville Tivy. CC Calallen parent came up to us and told us we had to move because we were not Calallen fans. ********* even went to get the usher in an attempt to get us moved. WORST FANS EVER.

that wasn't Trinity, they didn't play in the ' 06 Champinship game.
He obviously meant 05 because Judson was no where near the championship in 06
It was an adult in a pig contest that came over to our side and started taunting our fans when they were leaving but the cops got to them.

sometimes its best to counter rudeness with a kind word.
I remember when NB lost to Rosenberg Lamar there was some Lamar fans who shouted out from their car about their victory - all I had to do was congratulate them and wish them luck. Their attitude immediately changed and wished us luck in our season next year. I dont put too much stock in rude fans unless its just over the top.

After the 02 championship game. One of the most exciting and devastating games I have ever seen was worse because of some POS Judson fans after the game. I know they don't represent the school but since then I really enjoy seeing them lose. I just don't believe there is any need rubbing in a loss after a playoff game, especially by people who were not responsible for anything to do with the win. We you are dealing with a big loss, you don't need to hear that crap.

Bad and Good experience in Abilene.
Just before the Permian / Abilene game last year at Shotwell, we ducked into the convenience store just up the road from Shotwell to get something.
Anyway, the Permian QB's (TByrd) parents and grandparents were there as well and all of us are completely decked out in jersey's and black from head to toe. This idiot walks up the TByrd's grandfather and father and asks them if they are ready to get their butts kicked. (Not the nice language) Being the classiest people I know, they just smiled at the guy and said I guess we will see pretty soon and walked away from him up to the counter.
Then the checker apologized profusely for the idiot and told them that she was taking off early to make half the game and wished them good luck. :)

hey those are kids on the field out there doing their best to win a championship...i feel for the loss that those kids had to deal with that day cuz it was devastating to them so close yet so far, but there is always gonna be fans that act immature about the situation instead of saying "Well played game you guys!"...we have had other fans say Judson sucks and all that garbage...but i dont wish for them to lose...there are always bad apples in the bunch...and from being on this board i've grown from that

It is not so much that I want the kids to lose, I have no problem with the players at all but when they do I know it chaps those jerks we dealt with back then and it makes me smile. I am not proud of that but it is what it is. We are all petty about one thing or another.;)

i've never really had a bad experience at a game as a fan. as a trainer, yeah. But it never bothered me.
Roosy players coming out of the locker rooms headed to the field yelling "whoop whoop f:Censor: the rockets whoop whoop"
There was a game in 2003 @ Spring-Westfield when we were trying to move all our equipment from the sideline to the bus after we lost 63-35 and the Westfield field crew or whoever kept coming by saying they would help us with everything. They never did help and we had to carry all our stuff, running because Judson leaves games quickly. No hanging out like other schools do.
Another Westfield one was the 04 semi-finals when we lost 28-14 and some Westfield players were standing in front of me blocking my way and yelling "Judson sucks" at me when I was carrying stuff into the tunnel at the astrodome.
But like I said, it never really bothered me. It's what people do. It's competition, you gotta be proud of your team.
And I was at the state game in 07, didn't see any of that Katy reserving seats stuff going on. Where I was there were a lot of nice Katy fans just enjoying a crappy, boring excuse for a football game (trinity-judson 10-13)
And the worst for me has been Lufkin. ;)
Standing at a football game? That's illegal at Abe Martin on the visitors side (except unless you're a Lp fan, then it's legal).
You still trying to get sympathy on this one huh. Have you forgotten that I talked to the Police after you posted it the first time and your story is not exactly as you state it. Nevertheless, Longview has to be the worst place to play. First off, the lights are still 1970's wattage. It's like a cave it is so dark. even high=tech video has a hard time showing up. Last year, fans throwing rocks at the drill team and band. I was standing there and saw it happen. This year Longview fans throwing water bottles at the Lufkin bench. Fans jumping on Lufkin players after the game after they storm the field. An apparent Longview fan pulling up beside a Lufkin bus at a red light, getting out of their car shouting obscenities at the kids. Now I know not ALL Longview fans are like this, but enough are!

In fact, just as the Allen Football Team is UNDEFEATED THREE years in a row in district play, (don't forget "56-23"), the Allen Band also beat every 8-5A band in UIL AND Drumline!

No need for either of you to start trashing the others band. They are both good.
But far as Allen being "far superior" I believe Allen placed 7th and Plano placed 8th at the Area B marching contest. Of course this type of contest is very subjective anyway. Also, I believe if you check the UIL records, you will find Plano has not had a single year where its band did not make UIL sweepstakes (1st division at UIL marching, concert and sight reading contest during the same year) for over 30 years. Something Allen can not come close to claiming. Also, Plano usually plays college level music and Allen usually plays simpler music due to being almost 50% freshman. Nothing wrong with that, just makes your post seem a little silly.
They are both great bands, just different.

Nothing wrong with that, just makes your post seem a little silly.
They are both great bands, just different.
our band has also cause multiple olinemen for opposing teams to false start, and refs have gone over and talked to our band director because we were SO LOUD, (of course theres absolutely nothing the ref can do about it in terms of penalties and what not), and seeing as this is a football forum, we being a better football band, is all that matters
The Allen Band has also played in the.....
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Ireland's St. patricks day parade (yes, in Ireland)
Hawaii's St. Patrick's Day Parade (2003)
Tournament of Roses Parade (2006, when UT Won the Rose Bowl)
and they're playing at this years St. Patrick's Day Parade (in Hawaii) & at a Dallas Stars game on Dec. 10th:cool:

as you just said, none of which matters as it isnt at a football game. play in all the parades youd like to, this thread isnt about yalls band or its quality, its about football fans and how horrible some of them are. (i.e. violent ones; obnoxious, rude fans that dont know when to shut up; or that are overly aggressive to players or supporters due to their own feelings of inadequecy).

Worst game experience: I'm just going to go with the very generic "any game played at Texas Stadium the last few years." As much as I enjoy filthy concession areas and overflowing toilets, I'll be happy to see this playoff tradition go away.

You could not be more WRONG on this one. In fact, you just admitted that the Allen band engages in conduct that is explicitly contrary to the rules of the game.
Rule 9-2, Article 1 (b)(6)
Persons subject to the rules, including bands, shall not create any
noise that prohibits a team from hearing its signals (Rule 1-1-6).
PENALTY—Dead-ball foul. 15 yards [S7 and S27] from the succeeding
spot. Flagrant offenders, if players or substitutes, shall be
disqualified [S47].

Obviously most officials would be very reluctant to enforce such a rule against a band. But if the offended coach and the and/or administrators complained sufficiently, then the officals might do so, especially if they had previously warned the offending band and had requested their compliance. Evidently, according to the Allen guy, he believes that the band is not subject to enforecement of the rules and it is explictly so subject by Rule 1-1-6.

125 Players, coaches, JV players
65 Dancing Royals
85 Band Members
15 Cheerleaders
25 ROTC

2 Vice Princpals
150 Parents

Westlake had the same stickers when we beat them at state in '01. Absolutely classless bumber stickers.
I have grown up in Westlake and went to every game as a kid and that statement is completely false. Those stickers are and always have been, just a rumor. Nobody ever made any bumper stickers that said "we're rich, we're white, we're westlake" So unless you took an incredibly hard hit during that game and were just having hollucinations, then you never saw that sticker. It has never been made.

WHO IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!
you don't say JACK about the Allen Band!!! OTHER than being 3 times the size of that POOR excuse for a band that plano seems to have, the Allen Band (which is also INTERNATIONALLY known) ALSO kicked the plano bands a$$ at UIL and Lonestar Drumline Competition.
In fact, just as the Allen Football Team is UNDEFEATED THREE years in a row in district play, (don't forget "56-23"), the Allen Band also beat every 8-5A band in UIL AND Drumline!
They play 5x louder than ya'll can, they make your poor excuse for linemen jump offsides.
They're far superior to your band's Musical Ability, Marching Ability, Football Band Ability, and WOW factor
Shut your freaking mouth PWF
56-23!
I think I'm gonna stick up for PWF here, your band is big, loud and annoying. I wouldn't even classify half of what they do as music during a game. I say this from the perspective of a lineman, it never made any of us jump offsides. P.S. your football team is the most perennially overrated team in the playoffs. It's to the point no matter how high your ranked you can still expect to get spanked by SL. Spend more time on the team rather than the band. Also arguing band geekness on a football board screams of insecurities.

Has to be Paris high fans back in 94 we scrimmaged them and ran all over them. Well they made sure we didn't forget them either. Walking from the locker room to the bus we came under attack from a group of people throwing bricks, bottles, rocks, and anything that could be thrown. Well I just put on my helmet and got on the bus and slouched down in my seat. Some on the team weren't so fortunate a couple of guys were hit and had to receive some attention. The buses didn't fare so well broken windows.
Well small town of course it was gang stuff and things were getting blown out of porportion. Lineweaver told us this stuff has happened many of times even back in the early seventies when he first started coaching. I think his speech calmed some of the parents nerves of knowing this action wasn't gang related just a bunch of unruly fans. I kind of miss a little excitement every once in a while. Lifes a little perdicatable now days other than the adventures my kids like to get into.

2004 Coppell vs Irving MacArther...
Our own fans turned on us...we went on to lose the game by like 45-0 or somthing stupid like that. our fans left before the end of the first half, and the fans left were booing us. One guy at the end of the game yelled out "Cowboy Fight has now died" that stuck with us until the end of the season.
Lucky for us we went on a winning streak and the fans came back..
2004 Coppell vs Jesuit
Jesuits first year in the UIL they upset us on the first game of the season by beating us by like 14 or somthing, the Jesuit fans we're chanting "over rated" I litrally walked off the field with my head down and helmet on. that was embarrasing.

I'm sorry to say but sports "fans" very often are jerks, no matter which team they support. When you say "I'm a fan" you are basically saying "I'm a fanatic" where this team or program is concerned. Fanatics do crazy stuff sometimes. Why not just enjoy the game and let the kids do the same. Years from now they'll look back with an adult (hopefully) perspective and the relationships and fun they had will matter a lot more to them than how far they advanced in the playoffs. Hey, it would have been great to win state, but honestly, I don't believe my life wouldn't be in fuller or richer now if I had. Sports should be about teaching...learn how to be a gracious winner and loser. I've always liked that tradion where the kids get together in the center of the field and pray together after the game. Those are kids who have their priorities straight.

I'm sorry but this is football not Chess or a math competition. There is nothing wrong with yelling "You suck" at someone. If you can't handle people cheering their teams and heckling the other then don't go to the games. If they aren't being obscene or threatening violence on you then just deal with it. Cheer your team on louder so they will shut them up if you don't like some good old jeering.

What do you mean they have nothing to do with the game or team? That is why they are there. I do not agree with unsportsmanlike conduct from anyone, but you cannot control every fan. Just be the bigger person or in this case people and keep doing what you do as a band and don't let the other teams fans effect you. That is what they want. A reaction.

I think that all of us adults at games need to take responsibility for young fans who start behaving badly. Our APs are at all the games to watch the student section and squelch poor sportsmanship or unruly behavior. But I think that we can't just sit quietly in disapproval if we're next to students or younger who demonstrate bad behavior. I'm a former teacher, and I find a stern look and a few words go a long way.

I agree wholeheartedly...especially if there are little ones (as there often are) nearby..but on the other hand..the crowd can be an effective tool to help the team..they just have to be good at doing it..like how loud they are...if you can say something to get in someones head (without being crude) then that is a good thing..people don't realize that sports are 99% mental..if you can breakdown the guy on the other side in that way you have an advantage..especially if you are outmanned physically..the best kids i have seen on the sidelines are warren and macaurthur players on the sideline watching other games..chap fans were very nice last year...judson fans are the worst (they still think they are not part of san antonio)...if soemthing is being said that is not cool than I do the same thing...

I'm happy to say that I haven't had a bad experience interacting directly with fans at any high school football game. The only negative experience I can think of was at Texas stadium. The amount of trash left behind in the stands by the fans from the previous game was especially bad (spilled drinks, half eaten nachos, etc.). We were the 2nd game but it looked like 3 or 4 games had been played. You tell yourself the majority of the fans from that school were not responsible but it nonetheless leaves a bad impression.

The lady that left a doodoo diaper under her seat in front of us.

Last week at TS during the Trinity game some kids, probably 10 to 12 years old, were throwing half open dr.pepper bottles at us? Luckily they couldn't throw seven rows down.

My worst as a coach was at Vidor...It was all the vidor but i'd say 25% gave me and the other black coaches dirty looks as we made it to the pressbox...at Halftime I had a 16 year old punk call me N%&&$# and the cop/sheriff that heard it just looked and laughed...thankfully i had my other coaches with me...
