It's easy for ANY TEAM to be up 31-0 when you give them 4 TURNOVERS in the first half!!!! Not to take anything away from SLC, but Abilene hasn't brought their A game so far!!!!

Now come on favpack?? :confused: I guess Grapevine is a NFL team?? ;) Every team is beatable especially in hs. It will take a very good hs team's best to beat them but of course that is very possible.

We scrimmaged Grapevine and they were pretty bad. They had one long pass of about 65 yards on our very first defensive play ever of our new scheme and after that they got nothing. Defensively they were weak too. I guess they got a lot better as the year went on or Carroll just didn't show up. Wasn't Carroll missing a bunch of players though?

Look, I have watched Lufkin play them twice and yes SLC is a great team but they are definitely beatable.

Yeah, because Grapevine was not a very good football team. Like all the other teams in 5-5A they were wannabee SLCs. I'm sure Lufkin could take care of them.

You're sure? Why, because Grapevine nearly beat Carroll? Have you noticed Lufkin's results in their past two games?

the whole grapevine stuff, you gotta remember, we are their rivals! they left everything out on the field...kind of like UT/ATM who would thought it would of been that close? people thought UT romp, ATM played with their heart and almost upset UT, same case being with gpvine almost upsetting us

Guys, remember, that Grapevine game was close in score only. SLC has 29 first downs to Grapevine's 15, and had double the offensive yards. Young Dodge threw an early INT that cost them 7. That was also a month ag5 games ago, and SLC has turned it up a knotch or two. Last 3 games SLC has dominated 110-0 in 1st half points against teams that are 30-3 combined.

Forget Grapevine. It only made us stronger and more focused. Just ask, IMAC, ALLEN and AHS. They were shell shocked

exactly! i would of used stats, but i didnt have the first down stats, or yards stats, i know it was heavily favored slc's way..like you siad enough about gpvine

also i heard if its plano its at TS
midland out in abiline! that will stink, what is it like 20k stadium?

I was there in the summer heat this year when you guys were wearing Kacki shorts and t shirts. smart move. Not sure how big that stadium is however. There were 33K in Waco tonight. I hope it's Texas Stadium.

Enjoy this ride D'08, 'cause you will talk about it the rest of your life - trust me. We won the 5A Ohio State Championship my soph year, and were #1 my Sr. year until our QB broke his leg. That took us out of the race. I remember it like it was yesterday, and believe me it wasn't.

last year was amazing and it was cool being a freshman and all as well! man this years seniors, if we make it to state, man talk about best high school tenure, 4 years 4 state champ games, that is just purly amazing and something to remember for the rest of your life

a little off topic..

SLC folks, i noticed Chase Daniel was there, also it appeared to be aaron luna, and i couldnt make out who the other people were with them, i assumed they were ex-dragons, because they looked pretty big and were on the sidelines with the football team

SLC is one of the best hs dynasty's ever and it will take a very very good team's best effort to beat them. Hopefully my team will get a shot at them again but there is still 2 big games left before that happens. Besides, Cove looks like the real deal this year?? Finally playing up to their capabilities it seems. Not to mention SG just beat Longview a few weeks ago. Long way to go!!

What has become a part of that "dynasty" you refer to is the great LP/SLC wars. I have 2 concerns if we meet up again this year:
1. It is hard to beat any "good" team 3 times in a row, and LP is a "great" team!
2. I understand Floyd Casey is not available that week, and though I have great memories about our 2002 battle at Waco ISD stadium, I don't want to have to arrive there 5 days prior to get a good seat.

Maybe we should meet in Austin, or College Station if we both make it that far.

And good luck to yall!! You are not lying about playing at waco isd. There is no way!! It will have to be a big venue if this game were to happen again. I still cannot believe Lufkin plays on Friday night in Waco this week?? Lufkin has not played a Friday night playoff game since 2001 vs Westfield at the astrodome.
