It was a good game for 3.5 quarters. Garland was FAST but it appeared the scout team had done their job.

I was impressed by their speed and execution on plays but they just made a few mistakes early that hurt them.

Both teams capitalized on the two turnovers which is important in a game like this.

Good luck next year and hopefully Cove can continue to roll on up.

It would be nice if some of the Cove posters were a bit more gracious in their victory. We're trying to be nice and we still get slammed on these threads. One poster on another thread even said we sucked.

I have all kinds of respect for the Cove football team.......but many of their fans don't deserve them. Unlike the team, they have no class. :(

From what I have seen only a few are talking trash, but considering how much trash Garland talked before the game you should expect some now...deal with it.

just curious, did any people from this game make their way on over to our game?? before halftime there was nobody next to us (on our left) then we come back and theres a group of about 20 teenagers which looked to be sporting a diffrent team, coulnt exaclty tell they had jackets on and what not, so i was just curious, and is Waco ISD literally right next to Floyd Casey, when we were in the parking lot i was able to see lights that lookedl ike a football stadium and was curious

I went to the game tonight... And this is coming from an unbiased opinion even though I am an Garland Alumni.

Garland looked terrible on offense, play calling was horrible, and then the defense could not cover the long passes, nor could tackle. I was actually suprised Garland made it this far after watching them play tonight. No excuses.

Cove's QB/Punter is awesome! What grade and what college is he going to? He seems like a great player. Cove fans were very loud.. could careless for the making fun of the garland cheer with the arms... but thats what football is all about. It all in the game.

Good Luck Against Lufkin/SG. I do favor Lufkin and SG because SG is a garland school and I have alot of respect for LP, but you will give them a great game they deserve. Good Job Cove, and Good Job Garland. Way to make it a good year.


BTW Dragon, we drove by, saw the score, and kept on driving back to Dallas....lol

...most of the Cove folks have been gracious in victory - and we probably deserve some crow after the way we've gone on over the last two weeks.

For the most part, they were right in about everything they posted. They WERE faster, they DID have tons of heart, and WE had not seen anything like them all year (so much for the "we have a better legacy" and "we've played a tougher schedule" arguments).

Garland is a proud program, and our fans are proud of them. This is a tough pill to swallow - not because we think we should have won, but because none of us wanted this to end.

This was a special year and a very special group of young men. It has been a pleasure cheering you on for 14 weeks. This was one of my favorite Owl teams in the last 15 years.

The amount of trash talking that precedes a game usually defines how both sides react after the game... win with class, lose with class.

I give a lot of credit to Garland for not quitting in the first quarter. It would have been easy for them. We jumped out to a 17-0 lead, should have been 21-0, and had forced them to punt again. But they put pressure on the punt returner causing him to fumble and they got the ball inside the 10. They scored and got the momentum and held it until late in the second quarter. Played with a lot of heart. Nothing to be ashamed of.

As for the fans, you guys have a lot of class coming back in here and congratulating Cove and their fans. You proved you could dish it, but also can take it. I like how y'all coaches handled the extra curricular business towards the end. The way they chewed those players out shows that that kind of stuff isn't indicative of your program. Best of luck next year.

We dont have class? how about #23 and #50? tryin to fight a coach on our side and then when we were takin a knee your guys bulldozes through the line and just throws our guy to the ground for no reason...those guys have no class get it right!

This Is True But Lets Not Dwell On A Few Players That Lost Control Of Their Emotions. It Was Dealt With By Our And Their Coaches So Leave That On The Field.
We Acomplished What We Needed To So No Need In Waking Up Sleeping Owls And Getting The Trash Talk Going Again. I Want To Keep The Lid On That Crap With Them, It Was Way Too Much Last Week.

Great game to Cove. Loud students, but we were pretty loud too. I know I was there till the very end clapping for the Owls and then teh Dawgs after the game was over.

two minute drive from WISD Stadium to Floyd Casey, me and several others went you your game and caught the last minute of 2nd qtr . SLC has one awsome QB, haven't seen a QB with that kinda touch on his passes in quit awhile....Looks like one hell of a program ya'll got there...good luck to the Dragons but I really don't think ya'll need it

#50 is a senior who lost controll of himself. its not easy seeing everything youve worked on for the last 4 years come to an end and know theres nothing you can do about it, so i dont blame him for what he did but i also am not saying it was appropriate.... next time just take it out on a punching bag or something
