Just wondering if any of you out there have any cool apps for your iPod touch or iPhone 3g (free or $0.99 ONLY).

I have...

Applications:Pandora, Weatherbug, US Constitution, Woot On!, Shazam, Translator, facebook, AIM, backgrounds, Urbanspoon, Movies

Games:Pac-Man lite, Trace, Checkers, Word Warp, Cube Runner, MazeFinger, Tap Tap Revenge,, FreePiano, Sudoku, FourFree, I say Free

Sports/News: Sportacular, Digg, NyTimes, and baseball.

Anyone know of any other cool apps worth downloading? Please don't say that stupid lightsaber app or any variant of flash light. Those are so pointless.

Yeah. I really don't spend money on Apps so I think everything I listed was free or 99 cents.

Yeah I was looking for something like enigmo but couldn't find anything free. You know of any game with the pipes like Enigmo but free?

Also is there a way to get rid of some of the standard apps (besides unlocking it) such as weather, stocks, and youtube? Right now I just have all the standard ones I don't used shoved to the bottom of the last page.

"zintin" is a funny app...its like a wall where you can put pictures, steal peoples pictures off their wall, chat with people, etc. Its under Social networking. Beware though...a lot of guys have porn on their wall lol Its an adult type app. Sorry phoenix :D But I love it because some of the pics are funny as hell. That is where I found the picture of Jesus giving the finger that got me banned. :D Damn Zintin!

"Who's Here" is another social networking app. It has profiles of people near you and you can chat with them.

"Photoswap" is fun. You take a picture and send it off and you get some other persons random picture. It can be interesting.

"Now Playing" for movies

"Dactyl" is a fun game. Check it out.

Of course I have the myspace and facebook apps.

I like Pandora better for streaming radio and "Watch Now" was really slow for me so I deleted it in favor or "Movies."

There are some really dumb things that I am just dumbfounded as to why Apple won't put them in the iPhone. Landscape texting...? Ability to record videos...? Multimedia text messaging...? Copy and Paste actually requires a lot of work and significant change in code so I can understand why they don't want to do that but the other three I listed I mean COME ON.

don't most phone companies allow emails addressed to a phone number to be sent as a text message?

I know my girlfriend (verizon) used to be able to do that to my phone (Cingular/ATT)

No idea. Never tried. Shouldn't have to do that though. Should be able to snap a photo and select "send as a picture message" and then do it. Even Blackberry is allowing video recording and video/picture messaging on their phones now which is a big jump considering about 18 months ago they wouldn't even put cameras on their phones at all. Its not like these things are hard to implement Apple just won't do it.

you are correct there, but I look big picture.

Not very often but still enough to annoy me every once in a while and wonder why it isn't a feature.

I know I can email photos but it takes way too long to do that.

That is if you have people's email already in your contact and even then it still takes plenty of time.

Open the camera, take a picture, go to the camera roll and select the photo, touch the bottom left and select email to contact, select the contact, and email it.

And I don't do a lot of emailing so I don't know hardly ANYONE'S email address or care to know really because I won't ever email them. The only people I might ever email a photo to would be my mom or my girlfriend and even in those scenarios I would much rather send them a picture message.

My iPhone syncs to my Mac Address book so I pretty much have most of my friends email addresses already.

Most of my friends have blackberries or iPhones so its no problem for me to email a pic.

My mom is the only one that is still old school and has a flip phone so I just send her a pic to hernumber@tmomail.net (Tmobile) and she gets the picture as an MMS. Its not very difficult at all.

I understand all that but picture messaging is a basic feature that even these free phones that they hand out with a 2 year contract has. Seems kind of ridiculous that I would have to get all my friends email addresses if I want to send them a picture when adding a simple multimedia messenger would solve the problem and make it way easier.

does not being able to send picture messages really outweigh all the other cool **** the iphone does?

No it definitely doesn't and that is sort of my point. If they can make all the ****** stuff this phone can do work so seamlessly and effortlessly what is the deal with no picture messaging? I can live without the landscape texting because I can get used to portrait mode but emailing pictures isn't a good alternative to multimedia messaging for me.

Select few things I wish the phone had... and it should have them... so easy...

1. MMS
2. Speed Dialing
3. Landscape Texting

Thats it and 90% of the negative comments on reviews would be gone. These things are so simple which is why I can't understand why, after almost 18 months, these simple simple features haven't been added!

Speed Dialing? You can have people as "Favorites"
I know I have like the top 10 people I call the most under "Favorites" and it works just fine.

The things the iPhone CAN do far outweigh MMS IMO. MMS would be easier of course, but using email doesn't bother me.

The APP Store rocks!

I found two really cool apps today that haven't been mentioned yet....

Remote: Wi-fi remote to control your iTunes media or Apple TV. I had some quirks setting it up but once I did it was pretty cool especially since my laptop speakers are my 7.1 surround sound stereo. Just close my laptop and control it with the iPhone.

i.TV: TV Guide basically. All shows and upcoming shows including what channel, search for movies, and other crap like that.

Anyone have Shazam? Its cool. It picks up pretty much any song playing and will tell you the name and song...just in case you don't know it. It will save it too if you want to download it later or you can buy it directly from iTunes.

My friend and I were at Fuddruckers last weekend and a song was playing on the speakers and it was able to pick up the song.

FourFree is connect 4.

iTalk is voice recording

Scribble allows you to write over pics in your camera roll. I draw stupid things over friends pics and send it to them. :D

EasyWriter allows you to compose email in Landscape mode.

Backgrounds has a lot of cool backgrounds for your iPhone.
