In my search for post 100K I came aross this and decided to update it. I wanted to do a thread of all of Judson's playoff games (78-22) and #100 better be a win! (It wasn't) You'll notice they blow out South Texas and have lost a lot of close one's. Teams sure pay the price for beating Judson, too (11-17 after beating Judson with 12 teams losing the next week). That's good enough for 'em!:p

Good history lesson Lonny. You have way too much time on your hands though.

That took effort because I couldn't cut and paste. I was doing it in between getting people out of country on emergency leave in what was supposed to be off-duty time. It gets all fouled up around here. I post while I'm duty, but I do a lot of work while I'm supposed to be off duty.

I sure would've thought Judson would be better than 16-8 in playoff games decided by a TD or less.

I think a few Permian fans may disagree with your comment "Judson was the best team in the play-offs” in 1988 season. Permian only lost to Carter 14-9 in what was a very close game, unlike the blow-out loss Judson suffered in the title game. This season was, of course, well documented in Bissinger's Friday Night Lights.

Aldine is the only team to beat Judson and then win a title the next year. Westlake is the only other team to beat Judson and get to a title game the next year. History is history, but it's shown that beating Judson is like a one-time deal and has no future success tied to it.

You have to go back to Stockdale in the 60's to find a team that beat Judson in the playoffs 2 years in a row.

you mean that bs movie that has so many errors in it and is not historically accurate? - Judson would have blown Permian out.

SA Madison 0-1
S Westfield 0-1
Stockdale 0-2

The end results are 76 wins and 21 losses. You can call it 74-22-1 if you say one game against Ike was a tie and that Carter game was a loss. To me, it's 76-21.

Yeah, there were a few teams back in the 60's and early 70's that put a number on Judson. The Rockets are like 2-7 all-time vs. Randolph. I'd give you the numbers, but I'm blocked from the site because of "web hosting."

I just spend time looking at websites and then I remember where I get the good info from. I saw SLC played a playoff game when they were a "B" school!:D

I thought the world came to and end because Pine Tree played a playoff game against Mt. Pleasant back in the 70's!

Crap, Laredo United South went to the playoffs a few times this decade!

Permian 41 EP Andress 13
Permian 48 I Nimitz 7
Permian 21 A Lamar 7
Permian 9 D Carter 14

Carter 21 P East 7

Carter 31 Lufkin 7
Carter 22 Marshall 18
Carter 14 Permian 9

Judson 47 SA Jefferson 0
Judson 42 Alice 0
Judson 24 SA Clark 13
Judson 30 CC Carroll 0
Judson 16 H Stratford 0
Judson 14 Carter 31

It's an argument worth discussing. I'll go with the 4 shutouts in the first 5 games.

That's because they think nobody wants to see that stuff. They don't know there are people like me who'll listen to the radio at 2 in the morning!
