Figured we would all like to attend as many games to show the kids support as we can so this will be our so called "up-to-date" info thread. All game info can be posted here so we can make plans accordingly.
Info so far:
Katy vs. Stratford
1 p.m. @ tully (not sure of date)
Cinco Ranch vs. Alief Taylor
Not aware of date, time, or location
Taylor vs. Houston Memorial
Not aware of date, time, or location
Mayde Creek vs. ??? (anyone know the opponent?)
Not aware of date, time, or location
hope our district makes a good showing. I will be trying to make as many games as possible when i am not atending the Cinco Ranch games
Good luck to all!!

2 years ago I never thought watching football is THIS fun. I didn't even know much about football anyway. And this year my kid's school, CR has won against Katy Tigers and going to the play off... and I will be missing most of the games. I am quite frustrated.
Anyway, go KISD!!!

Mayde Creek will pull off the upset of the week by beeting SJesuit. Watch out for all of the things MC does, I watched SJ last week and we were calling the next play that SJ was going to run quit funny. :ninja:

ya.. strake isnt that good.. we lost to them last week because our offense couldnt put the ball in the end-zone or make a field goal to save their life.. strake has no real run defense besides the QB and the Qb is inconsitant with the throws but will make some.. Their defense is decent. but whats going to kill them in the long run is there Depth...

I believe Strake is pretty good, we just didn't see their best game on Friday. I for one will be very surprised if they do not beat Mayde Creek fairly easily. That's not to say I predict a blowout, because Strake won't score that many points. I would think it'll be something like 24-10, Strake.

What I find interesting about the match up between Cinco and Red Taylor, is that these are the only district opponents that have beaten Coach J's Tigers. I think Cinco could be underlooking them. I hope this Cinco team goes further than the '06 team. Pearland is waiting once again.

Cinco's got a much more interesting playoff path than Katy this year... going by probable opponents, that is. Ike in round 2, then North Shore. Pearland in the region final. I'd love to see any of thse games.

WOW! looking at the brackets it would seem that Pearland walks to the Regional final! Top half is top heavy!

I hope Cinco doesnt get caught with their heads in the sky. Red Taylor will not be a push over. Hopefully CR comes out determined and dominates!:D Its going to be a short week for any banged up players to re-coop much.

Speaking of Depth.....that may also play a factor for the Spartans in the Katy game. Maybe I picked the wrong game to watch, but nothing really stood out to me. I'm not saying that in a negative way. I remember in the Strake Scrimmage with Katy I thought Strakes QB wasn't that good with the deep ball and threw a lot of quick slants and out routes, held true to form Friday.
Katy will need to establish a pass rush against Stratford....they way to move the ball on Katy is by quick underneath routes. On Offense I think Katy's O-line will pretty much impose their will on Stratford the way Elsik did and if all three backs are healthy(and can hold on to the ball) they should give Stratford trouble. If Stratford dosn't pressure Parker Ray and the running game is getting 5 yards a pop....expect to hear the name "Taylor Brandt" a lot.
Stratfords QB seemed to be very mobile when flushed out of the pocket.

Our d-line is decent.. they jsut need to stay with there responsibilites and they will do fine. Ya elsik ran on us pretty good but when it mattered like 4th and 1 and 4th and inchs. elsik couldnt get it. Our db and safeties is a good group of defenders. both corners, Roland Rodriguez and Erik Odem are extremely quick and keep everything in front and dont give up the good ball. Free safety Jerry Young has a lot of range in the secondary and is leadin 18-5a in interceptions..
Our backers have to have a mistake free game. end of story.

Has anyone seen Alief Taylor play this season? if so how did they fare? i have head that 4 of their wins have come against schools with losing records. I saw the highlights from the game w/ elsik and they looked fairly solid but Elsik has never been known for having a great defense.

I've seen Taylor play vs. Memorial. D-line is strength of team, with several D-1 prospects. QB is good runner, but offense is one dimensional. They will have athletes that any school would love to have, and those guys will make plays, but a solid team like CRHS that plays its game should win. MHS doesn't have nearly the athletes Alief Taylor has, but was able to beat them comfortably.

You're a year late and a dollar short.......You should've been calling "the next play the SJ was going to run" during that 39 - 13 beat down last year.;)

We beat them after the 3rd quarter 37-7 ;)... QB is one heck of an athlete... D-line is solid... But they are easy to pass on and seemed to lose interest or were tired as soon as halftime was over... If u can contain the QB and pass u should win this one easily... If u play 3 yards and a cloud of dust and give the QB space, it wont be an easy win... If u pressure and contain the QB and force him to make plays with his arm, uve won (although he has a good arm he is to inconsistant
