View Full Version : Forum Issues (Update 12/6, 8:00PM)

Hello all,

After talking with the tech support staff of our webhost, I've come to find out that they are having problems with one of their mySQL servers...and it just so happens to be the one on which our forums are hosted.

They're going to migrate the forum database over to another server, hopefully in the middle of the night. That should eliminate the wacky database errors and the forum should run smoothly.

Anyway, we are working on the problem and we hope to have it fixed within the next day or two.

11/28 Update:
I don't know what the heck was going on this morning. Everything was running beautifully yesterday...heck, it was working great at 1:00am this morning. I'm going to give Tech Support a call on my lunch break and see what the deal is...this is getting ridiculous. Hang with me guys, I'm doing all I can.

Update 12/6:
We apologize for the outages we had this afternoon. Our webhost had a major service outage around lunch time today and when they restored service, our database was not turned back on...for whatever reason.

We know this has been happening frequently as of late and all we can tell you is that we are doing all that we can and we do not anticipate this being a persistent problem, despite recent events. This latest outage was a separate issue from the previous forum issues.

If your taking donations, let us know...this is probably one the best HS football sites around and I am glad to offer any assistance you may need.

Since I couldn't post earlier because error page, I have tried to say this before KT post a thread about this.

I said that reasons it is slow, Here is the list below:

1. Server may have been down
2. Server machine may have had low capacity with that like millions of posts.
3. Hackers may have did this to slow it down.
4. E-mail may have infect this forum because some of you may have recieved this message "You have visited 30 illegial website" from department@fbi.com (Please do click that link!) I have recieved that and opened the attachment because I thought it was real person with the name of FBI. Alot of computers have been affect by that exluded me.

This is wierd also, My cable went off for 5 days (sometime went off and then back on) when it was a day before the forum was having error. Maybe Server has that same way sometimes.

If there was donation, I am sure around 500 dollars each month would have been donated to this forum because many people would have donated this forum, and I am sure this is the best-friendly website there is on this planet.

Pack, when you hit "Reply", hold down the Shift button and click Refresh...that should do it.

Editing posts has changed, too. If you edit your post, you have to hit advanced options to get smilies to add into your post.

This is a much better version of vBulletin software. vBulletin is the best on the net anyway. Glad to see the speed issues worked out. It can be especially tough if you are sharing a server with other companies in one of those "virtual server" situations. Seems fast now! Kudos.

I had a weird one last night - I posted at the office and followed a few threads - then went home. My posts from the office (and other posts such as the web radio link for AHS/SLC) weren't there - never showed up all night - weird.
The scoreboard thread lost posts to cut down the confusion over my fake Judson score.

The NFL section lost a few posts, too.

I don't know about other posts that went bye-bye.

I don't know if anyone else has run into it yet, but when you try and post twice within 30 seconds, it still won't let you but it gives you a time (i.e. 3 secs, etc).

I have suffered through this as an Admin on another board. We all appreciate how frustrating it is. Thank you for your hard work keeping this site up and going.

I did not have any problems at 6:30 but before that, It was kind alittle slow and than it came back up again. Why don't you use the Website server to put the forum in because Website Server is very fast.
It's running great for me over here. Believe me, it's been a lot worse on other days recently!:D
