I'm tired of all the ESPN hype about Okie Lite beating Tech just to trump up ratings.
1. Tech is at home.
2. Okie Lite hasn't won in Lubbock since 1944.
3. Tech had a good week of practice and won't let down.
4. Tech wants revenge for last year.
5. Tech has a better D-line.
6. Tech has a better O-line.
7. Tech has a better offense.
8. Tech has a better defense.
9. Tech's passing game advantage over Okie Lite is greater than any potential running advantage the Cowboys have over Tech's strong run D.
10. Dez Bryant can't play on the road:
8 road games: 32 catches, 374 yards, and 0 touchdowns
1 neutral site game: 9 catches, 117 yards, and 2 touchdowns
10 home games: 62 catches, 1185 yards, and 19 touchdowns
11. Once again, this is a 7 P.M. start.
12. Tech has been the best team in total team rankings during Big 12 play.
13. Tech has also been better than Okie Lite all year in total team rankings.
14. Leach is a better coach than Gumby.
Seriously, my biggest worry about this game all along has been the potential for cheating refs and I heard Bible might be doing this game. Stay tuned for his antics because otherwise Tech should probably win by 17.

OSU is a great team....but like you said, this is a night game in Lubbock. Do you think our fans don't know this is now more important than the Texas game? At worst, Tech comes out of the regular season with 1 loss, and it won't be at home.
I am worried, but I have enough confidence that the final score will be in favor of Tech:
OSU - 31
TTU - 42
Good god tech matters for the first time ever and now its a sin to pick against them when playing another great team

At the beginning of this week, I was very scared of this game. Then the analysis came in.... Half of their quarterback's yards are passes to Dez Bryant. All because of their dumb jump ball. Double cover dez with a good safety and he won't get as many yards. What other wide receiver on their team has double digit catches on the season? None. The only other person on the team with double figure catches is Pettigrew, but it's nothing compared to Dez's catches (60 to 21). The only thing that concerns me is the running game. I'm excited to see what the Tech defense can do against an excellent running back. Whoever comes out on top of that matchup will probably win this game.

and the Texas d was inpenetrable...we heard it all week.
Tech's D couldn't stop McCoy... we heard it all week.
i have watched the replay 3 times, and if the Tech coaches are worth a nickel, they pounded that offense for the terrible execution in the thrid quarter. They worked the secondary's but off on safety help up top and better man coverage. tech had plenty to work on this week. In no way do i beleive Tech has played it's best game. There is no way they should be overconfident going into this matchup, because OSU can exploit those same opportunities. If we don't have our bonnets strapped on tight and aren't ready to execute the offense and tackle on defense, we'll be pretty down after the game.
I still believe the coaches and seniors on this team will have the Red raiders ready tonight.

True, we have seen this situation happen plenty of times before. It happened two or three different times last year, remember South Florida, Mizzou, Boston College, California.

Anyone with half a brain knew that the Texas secondary was the glaring weakness on the team. Maybe some of the myopic fans decided to overlook that, but I KNEW playing at Lubbock was going to be a nightmare, as it has been other years. Your team didnt stop McCoy. The damn receivers couldnt catch a freaking ball (and Cosby was gone). Not excuses, just facts.
That being said, Tech played like crap against Nebraska and A&M. Don't tell me they are one of the top teams in the country. We shall see after tonight and then next week. ;) The Land Thieves are going to donkey stomp your overrated team in Norman.
Texas already went through a series of tough games, let's see if Tech can come away with only one loss in theirs.

funny how Hornsfans act as if Tech's season started two weeks ago. Y'all act like your little three game homestand was so much harder than the road conference games Tech played, including a rivalry opponent that y'all have lost to for two years straight. UT's opponents were outstanding, but they basically played three home games in a row, and don't even act like playing in the CottonBowl is anything remotely as hostile as the Jones was.
However you want to justify last weeks' result in your little mind is your business. We'll just keep on being the sorry team that got it done.
i don't remember ever asking for UT's endorsement any way.

The young secondary was my biggest concern about the Horns/Raiders game last week, and it proved to be true. But even saying that, you are right.
Had the Texas offense came out and played good football for the first 3 quarters then that game wouldnt have been close.
And yea, lets remember, it took O.T. for Tech to beat Nebraska, and the A&M game was closer than the score seemed. It was a 7 point lead going into the 4th quarter. Tech only outscored the Ags 13 - 2 in the fourth.
I still havent seen the "tough road games" that Tech fans keep hollering about.

OSU wins because Tech's #1 fan is loony. That's just a good of reason as cheating referees.
Since Tech has almost every advantage, if OSU wins I assume Tech will just cease to exist.
Oklahoma State may not win, but at least they have fans who know the opponent's name and head coach's name.

Anyone with half a brain also knows that Texas got outplayed in the trenches on both sides of the ball. You give absolutely no credit to the Tech defense. Why is that? Can't believe someone could stop your precious Colt McCoy? You also realize that Tech should have had more points on the board, don't you? We had 2 long drives in the 3rd half that didn't produce points (but should have).
You know, honestly, I thought you Texas fans would eventually realize you got outplayed. I guess you aren't really seeing that yet. That overrated Tech team just beat your team, and should have won by more.
And also, Tech and OU don't play next week. I believe both teams have a Bye.

It has all the relevance in the world, since the fact that Tech beat the no. 1 team in the BCS, and that vaulted them to the # 2 ranking. I mean, a team ranked that high, this late in the season, shouldnt there be a mention of a National Championship somewhere in the conversation? Unless we all know something else to be true.

We beat a ranked team by 42 points on the road and beat the #1 team in the nation. #2 may not be justified, but no doubt about it, this is a very good team. Is that kind of what you were trying to bait me in to saying?

Holy crap, Lonny. If I got this wound up every time they picked against A&M, I'd have had a heart attack at age 19.
Think about it. ESPN is A TELEVISION NETWORK. If they tell people it's going to be a Tech blowout, you think people are going to watch? No way. It's probably just for ratings. And there is no law that requires them to give their honest opinion on the air. I don't see why you're so concerned. Also, you can only rely on the "cheating refs" excuse so many times before people quit listening. So CALM DOWN! OK State is a great team, and there IS a chance they will win. That's something we're all going to have to just learn to cope with.

As far as the national title talk goes; yeah I think we'll do it, but I'm looking at one game at a time. OSU has a very good team, but I do get tired of all the talk in the media looking to discredit Tech. The one benefit is it does keep them from letting down.
Tech doesn't have the #2 talent in D1, but I don't care. They have a lot better coaching than the Top 10 teams because they've beat 9 teams and sone of them had better talent and Tech didn't blow a game this year and deserve to be where they are. You have to rank teams based upon what happens on the field. We'll worry about OU and the other teams after this week.
