I wish I had a picture, but it said "Battle Of The Sexes" with the symbols for male and female on it.

Could someone from Stratford explain what that had to do with the football game please.

I just imagaine the crowd going completely quiet... :D It's kind of hard to see here, but it reminds me of this scene from Dodgeball. I know KT will get it.

Perhaps they were implying that the team they were facing was of the other sex...as in their men vs the other team's women.

Clever.

We couldn't figure it out either. Nor could we figure out why their band was warming up during the introduction of our Seniors, or why their Flag carriers tried to run around the track to the Strake side lines after they scored???????????

Ktfiend has pics.....

A lot of things confused me.

1.The battle of the sexes thing.

2. Stratfords band only playing when Stratford was on offense.

3. Flag runners...both teams...running all the way around the track

it was hillarious

Stratfords band warmed during the pre-game while we were introducing our seniors for their last game. This happened before the game maybe you weren't their.

Stakes flag runner only ran down our side line. They never go over to the visitors side lines when we score. Never! Stratfords runners ran down their sidelines, around the curve and started down the straight away towards the Strake student section until the Strake administrators sent them back. I'm not sure what game you attended this evening

Congrats to Strake, a deserving district champ. On a night when I think it was clear you played less than your best game, you still made enough plays on offense and defense to win, perhaps more decisively than the 21-13 score indicated.

Your kicking game was truly impressive and alone made the difference in the outcome versus our special teams, which I think had its worst game of the year.

As for the run-through, who the heck knows what those kids were thinking? I believe there was some internal boys vs. girls theme at Stratford this week, it had nothing to do with dissing Strake. But I agree, it was a head-scratcher.

Now we wait for tonight's Seven Lakes / Taylor game to see who we play next week in round one. I hear that regardless of whether we play Katy or Mayde Creek, the game is Saturday at 1pm at Tully. That's not confirmed, it's just what I heard.

Actually I did. And that would be tasteless as well! Things like that can take away from a good clean game!

Thanks! I've thought all year that Stratfords defense was pretty good. You all have two pretty good QBs although I think one is better and has a stronger arm. I think that would be one of the twins.

Yeah, that's alone the lines of what I heard, I think our options were Tully or Rhodes with no decision on whether we play on Friday or Sat. or who.

No clue at all on that sign. The thing that confused me most was if both defenses were unreal good or both offenses were awful. Other than about 5 total plays it looked like sophomore level football on the offensive side. the jesuits have a kicker with a mean leg. Although I still hate the fact that the jesuits are in UIL football I will say that they have a very very nice facility.

Well, Stratford's defense has played very well all year. Our offense has been another story. Virtually no running game all year despite having two very fine RBs.

Nice little stadium, but what a mess parking wise. I guess the aggravation of getting in and out of there adds to the home field advantage though. It looked to me like 1/2 of the Stratford crowd arrived just at gametime or even a bit late. I spent a good 20 minutes trying to find a place to park. Cannot even imagine Katy Nation trying to squeeze into there.

The problem was that Katy Nation couldn't squeeze in there and in my opinion that is why the UIL yanked the jesuits out of Katy's district after two years. Stratford's offense certainly didn't look good but to me the jesuits offense didn't look much better.

I would be surprised if UIL used as one of its criteria for re-alignment parking slots. Student population and projected growth patterns yes, whether Katy can fit into a stadium..........................

The stadium is nice parking not so nice. With the construction its even worse. Our offense isn't bad and how prolific it can be depends on the tone of the game. If our defense is playing well, and we're up we will play conservative offensively and minimize risk. If the defense provides opportunities we try to captilaize quickly and will open up offensively. The thought is to shorten the game because its not in our best interest to get into a track meet. We just don't have enough players. So i guess an opinion on whether its good or bad for me a least depends on the results. We're 8-1, and 7-0 in district. From my view point our offense is pretty good. We score more than our opponents which is the object of the game.:D

We had some strange run-thrus at Stratford. My personal favorite is the third round of playoffs last year. Our senior class was going through a rather innapropriate "run train" phase, started by lineman Anthony Tedder, and the sign read "Run Train on Clements" with a picture of a train on it. Haha. I cant believe we got away with that
