How many districts are you aware of getting 10 playoff wins in a single year? They did the ultimate in 2A in 2003. San Augustine and Garrison won titles and Tmpson lost to Garrison in the quarterfinals to give the district a 14-1 playoff record.

26-5A went 11-1 in 1995 with Judson and Roosevelt taking titles and Madison getting beat in Round 1.

26-5A went 12-3 in 1998 with Judson and MacArthur losing titles and Madison losing to MacArthur in the quarterfinals.

Katy, Elsik, and Hastings went 10-3 in 2002 with 2 semifinalists and a quarterfinalist. Longview, Lee, and Lufkin did the same trick that year.

If 26-5A wins this week, they are guaranteed to go 10-3 at the worst, but we're hoping for better around here! :D

I just wondered if you guys knew of another district that has gotten the 10 wins. Nobody did it in 2003 or 2004.

OK, it looks like Katy's boys went 11-2 in 2000.

Not sure what the district number was at the time (11-4A maybe?), but in 1998, Grapevine won the 4A-D1 title (5 wins), SLC lost in the D2 semis to Stephenville (4 wins), and Colleyville Heritage lost to HP in the 3rd round (2 wins) for an overall record of 11-2.

Also, LaMarque and Texas City swept the 4A titles in 1997, which would have given the district, at worst, 11 wins. Not sure how the other district rep fared or even who it was.

Not true. In 2004, 17-4A went 12-2 with Kilgore (6-0, D2 state champs), Marshall (4-1, D1 runner-up) and Jacksonville (2-1).

I forgot about both of them getting a title.

That's true. I was talking about in 5A when I said nobody, but should've clarified. I have the Tyler paper showing the Gilmer, Kilgore, and Tyler Lee coaches on the front of the football preview.

I said it to keep SLC fans from talking about them and Denton Ryan last year. They got 9 wins just like 26-5A and 12-5A.

We're at 11-1 in 26-5A right now.

We need 14-1!
