Congrats to Lufkin on another district championship. Since Conroe lost, Lufkin wins the district outright. Good to see you guys bounce back after all the struggles early on.

Good luck to all the other teams in district playing next week.

Thanks TO!

Sorry Highlanders, but I guess we'll take the Gold ball again - makes no difference for the PO's though.

I have been a critic of Lufkin's QB play all year. However, I have to say that Claybon probably had his best performance of the year tonight. I was in the north end zone had a good vantage point all game. He made good decisions and decent throws after a shaky start. He is still off target a little at times, but still had a great game. He is finally starting to put it together at the right time.

I'm still not convinced Lufkin is 4 rounds or better good yet. Although, RII D2 does look wide open right now.

See other thread.

Jeffrey played well after over-throwing 6 of his first 7 - dude was on Red bull or something - way to jacked up.

Um confused:
The Woodlands rolls over New Caney

<!--[include_if_component:movie-file:1:incs/story/movie.inc]--> NEW CANEY – At least the scoreboard wasn’t working. The Woodlands football team steamrolled through New Caney Friday night at Don Ford Stadium with a 42-0 win that clinched a share of the District 14-5A title.

So because you beat TWHS, the don't go on tie breakers based upon head to head...its soley on w/l record. Both TWHS and Lufkin ended up with the same district records to be district co-champions. Sorry to burst the bubble.

I think it's been established that they are co-district champions. But Lufkin gets the 4 Lone Star Cup pts and Woodz gets 2.

The t-shirt company would be happy though. He's got 2 sets of shirts to sell now.

If Mike Taylor, who also said TWHS would beat Lufkin 9 out of 10 times and moonlights as the Woodlands Chamber of Commerce President, said it, it must be true.

I think even the Highlander fans won't dispute that Lufkin deserves the district championship, no matter what the rules say.
