On the last offensive play for Irving Nimitz, the coaches for the Vikings let the refs know that a special needs player was coming into the game at wide receiver so he could get a play in. I appologize for not having his name, as the DMN has the name wrong in their stats, and the FW Star-Telegram doesn't have their stats uploaded yet (I got the name as a coach was telling us what happend afterwards, but failed to write it down).
After the referees notified Coach McGuire (Cedar Hill) that the kid was coming into the game, McGuire told the refs he would call time out with just over a minute left so he could let his defense know what was going on. The kid took the handoff 61 yards for the score. After 4 years on the team, attending every practice, pretending he was on the field, he had gotten into a game. His only ever high school play, he ran for a touchdown.
Again, Kudos to both staffs as you allowed for this kids dreams to come true.
I will have the kids last name for everyone as soon as I get it.
