Somehow I knew this was my kind of thread. Anytime you mention state champs, there's a good chance that some pleasant info is in there! :D

finalist meaning the team made it to the semi-finals? i guess.

I think he means

State Champions - are exactly that - The winners of the Final
Runners-up - are the Losing Finalist
Finalist - appearances in the State Chapionship Game, either as a winner or loser

If this is true why isn't SLC shown as a runner-up once... when they lost to Katy in the championship game?

Good point - I guess I am now as confused as you and everyone else

It's nice while it lasted for Judson, I see about a 5 to 7 year streach where they might not make 2 games into the playoffs and 4 of the years they might not make the playoff's at all. All great things must come to an end, but hey it was an awesome ride!!!!!!!!!

If Judson stays with the bunch they play now, I see it a little differently. They'll either miss the playoffs or make long runs.

toonman, you have it exactly correct. I just put the top 5-7 teams in each category, that's why SLC isn't in the runner-up.

Interesting to see what each Region has done overall and after UIL went to two division playoff system.

What do expect from a Judson follower:

Forgot to mention any Aldine school. Like Aldine High, Aldine MacArthur, and Aldine EISENHOWER!

We never forget about Ike. That's our 2nd favorite team! :p

eagleike, I just stated only the top teams with multiple appearances were listed and only in the state finals. If you want, I'll start a thread with multiple losses in the semifinals.

Here's my own little statistic. Worst Arsse whuppin administered to a region 4 (Westlake)team in the semis by a region 3 team(Northshore).
52-0. 2003.
Worst possible Arsse whuppin is yet to come. Look out for Westfield!
If you have not seen them play you are in for some SHOCK and AWE.

Oh Lonnie, I didn't have to go to CALPREPS for this stat.

Just a little pre-semi smack.

Something tells me we'll play them closer than NS did. Kinda like last year.

Nothing like having some wannabes blowing their horn over a couple of good seasons. Here's another stat for semifinals: Judson 9 Region III 4.

If SW & Judson make it to the semifinals, SW should beat Judson with all of those Division I suspects on their team. With all of that talent, you wouldn't think that SW was afraid to play Judson at Judson Stadium, but they are and chose to go elsewhere in San Antonio (either Seguin, Alamo Stadium, Northeast, or one of the NISD stadiums). Always nice to play Region III schools because they are usually heavy favorites over Region IV, but a funny thing has happen since 1990, Region III ranks last in state titles and Region IV has more state game appearances than Region III.

As for SW, what was impressive for one of the few times in Region III semifinal opponents of Judson, was the coaching and self-discipline of the players. My hat is off to the coaching staff for being able to corral that talent and make them a team.

I can tell you didn't do any research! :p

You spelled my name wrong and got the score wrong! :D

Lonny and 49-7 North Shore.

BTW, 52-0 was the 1992 D1 Finals when Judson beat Euless Trinity.

Maybe they aren't so sure about a win after all.

Lonnie You must be getting your stats from those dope smokers at CALPREP. I was actually at the game . It WAS 52-0. Westlake never scored. I bet you weren't in attendance.
I hope Westfield whips your boys just as bad. I've determined that Judson is a frigging CULT. Your time is about over. Glory Days done passed you by.
How much did those Judson colored glasses cost? Too much.

Hey fbjones, hijo de perra, you sound like another bitter fan who witnessed Judson whip one of your overrated Houston teams. Or were you a player? Either way this hate that you have inside you isn't very healthy. I mean we are talking about 15 to 18 year olds on here right? Do you really hate a group of teenage kids who happen to play for Judson that much? How long this hate been eating at you?

Judson = Unhealthy Emotional Baggage?

Who would have thought?

Grow up hijo de perra.

Last year's edition of Texas Football said 49-7 just like texasfootballratings says. I didn't go the game because I was doing something with the girls.

What can we do to ease the pain Mr. Jones? All we did was play the game. I still predict we will have a closer game with WF this year than NS did. If you want to talk about whuppins, why don't you mention the whuppin' we took from WS in the '02 regular season. Now that was a whuppin!
WF has a great program. They earned my respect last year after they beat us in the semis. They kinda flew in under the radar screen but when they showed up they brought the full load. I think thier coach has a lot of class and has control of the program. That is what usually beats the Houston teams in the semis'. Either way, we will enjoy the game and I do not mind losing to a better TEAM than us. I do not enjoy seeing our team get beat by individuals though. That very rarely happens to the Rockets.

I don't know what we did to get on their bad side Bullrock. I didn't say anything to Houston all year this year. I just left them alone except a few times early in the year I said on some threads that I thought Judson would beat them with the homefield advantage.
