Today the Southlake Carroll dragons added a new running formation. The power eye. since Carroll have been having a hard time running up the middle the coaches decided to change thing up a little for Abilene. So look for the power eye on Friday that’s if SLC can pull it off in practice. :D

Carroll is also working on a formation where there are 6 receivers on the field and the center is eligible. They also have this thing where they call a timeout, eat spinach, and amazingly become giant behemoths that smoke a pilot and beat up bluto and save olive oil. They also have this play that they stole from the University of Texas where their quarterback goes into a telephone booth on the sideline and a person wearing a green cape comes out takes the snap and flys into the goalline.`

i just dont see why dodge would do this. Running everything out of the shotgun spread, barring Goal Line and QB Kneel plays. After four years of sucess with it, what would suddenly make him feel the need to add this. I can't think of any personel the dragons have that could be used as a full back. Moorefield comes to mind, but he's injured. I will be shocked if I see this 'power' eye, but i suppose stranger things have happened.

moorefield's back this week and they're not changing the offense to power i by any means. they've added plays that can take quite an advantage over abeline's defense. SLC will never get rid of the spread as long as coach dodge is here

maybe it's to try and help us get into the endzone when we're on the 10-. i've noticed a few times this year when we had difficulty working with a short field and "pounding" it into the endzone for the 6. IMHO that is one of hte only drawbacks about the spread at any rate

For those of you who think this is new, sorry. This play has been around for a while. In the past, it was practiced with one of the linebackers or D-lineman leading Luna. It was practiced a straight eye and as a toss out to Luna to the right or left with the lead blocker in front.

The play was called "hammer".

So... at ease, go back to sleep.

No one said that they were getting rid of the spread or anything like that. There is a formation that involves personel that would for a "power I" type of formation. Trust me, they have it. Most teams have formations like that that they will rarley use. If the time ever comes, don't be suprised if you see it.

i never thought that they were getting rid of the shotgun spread either, i just dont think it fits into the style of offense, nor do we really have the personel to run it. i havent seen it yet...therefore it does not exist. of the players i have talked to they know nothing of it, but maybe its a secret...;)

Well if this is meant to be a rouse then I will give that you! What do you think we will be waking up Brence tonight to let him know that SLC is running the I in practice.

If you are serious then Yeeee Hawwwww, What are you trying to hand us the State Championship do you feel sorry for us?

Please God, please let SLC run the Power-I against Plano please!!!!!!!

Don't see it happening, I think we will see 99% spread!

Not a chance. Plano will see the spread in its many splendor. You need to watch closely because it doesn't stay on the field for very long. Then they turn it over to their dominating defense and they don't stay on the field very long either (3 and outs are their custom). Plano is a great team with a great tradition. Saturday will be a football fan's game. 40,000+ will be in attendance. I respect Plano but believe that SLC will win 48-21.

2 THINGS.

1ST PLANO HAS NEVER GIVEN UP 48 POINTS IN A SINGLE GAME IN 45 YEARS THAT I KNOW OF. THEIR WORSE LOSS IN THAT TIME SPAN WAS IN THE 1974 BI-DISTRICT GAME AGAINST jOHN TYLER WHERE A RUNNING BACK NAMED EARL CAMPELL LED THE WAY TO A 35-0 WIN AT TYLER ROSE STADIUM.

I DON'T THINK SLC HAS ANY EARL CAMPBELL'S ON THEIR TEAM. AND NEWTON DON'T COUNT!! SO DON'T GO THEIR.:p

Run all of the running plays you want. You don't have a Barron Batch on your team. We will stuff the run every time and you can take that to the bank.

chicken, please tell me how you defended midland? were you able to but 7 men in the box? were your safeties playing 6-7 yds off the ball? i agree you can completely stuff the run if that is all you care about. the slc offense doesn't care which form it takes to move the ball. play the run stopping defense and it'll be a short game for the dragon offense. slc'll lose the top by 3-1. the second team will be in by halftime. not bragging. that's just the way it is.

the 2nd team wasn't in at the half for Allen or Abilene so why would it be against Plano ?
