• On the bubble: Ellison, Shoemaker (both 3-3 in 12-5A)
• Key games: A&M Consolidated at Ellison, Shoemaker at Temple
Shoemaker gets in with either a win or an Ellison loss. Ellison gets in with a win and a Shoemaker loss.
District 16-5A
• In: Stony Point, Round Rock
• On the bubble: Georgetown, Leander, McNeil, Cedar Park (all 3-3)
• Key games: Cedar Park at Leander, McNeil at Georgetown
It's as simple as this: the winners of those two key Friday games are in the playoffs.
District 25-5A
• In: Bowie, Westlake, Pflugerville
• On the bubble: Austin High (3-3), Connally (3-3), Anderson (2-4)
• Key games: Austin High at Anderson (Thursday), Connally at Pflugerville (Saturday)
Bowie and Westlake already are the district's Division I playoff teams. If they both win this week, Westlake gets the higher seeding.
Austin High gets in with a win over Anderson.
Connally gets in with a win and an Austin High loss.
If Austin High and Connally both lose, a second tiebreaker would come into play since there is no head-to-head scenario that works here. If Anderson beats Austin High by more than eight points, the Trojans will get the playoff spot. If Anderson beats Austin High by seven points or less, the final spot goes to Connally.
District 26-5A
• New Braunfels, which made the state semifinals last year in Class 4A, is out of the playoff race.
