For your information. Garland and Lufkin have played three times. All playoffs.
Results:
1960 Lufkin 7, Garland 6. First round. Not sure how far Lufkin went that year.
1999 Garland 26, Lufkin 20. Second round . Garland won state, but but Lufkin
Was better than Katy, who we played in the finals
2003 Garland 19, Lufkin 10. First round. Garland had a good day, Lufkin didnt.
Just a little tip for you "cove" folks, If you ever have a choice whether to play Lufkin or not; DONT. Just a little wisdom from an older person.

As I have said before, I hate playing Garland because they are so disciplined. They make very few mistakes when they play us.

I'll likely be in Nac Saturday (gotta support the other home town team, even if they are our arch-enemies :D )

it's o.k., i can handle the hell. i know ya'll are decent folks and thats why i gave you a heads up on klien forrest playing dirty. cove and lufkin have never meet. one of my high school memories involves cove. we had to play them the same week they lost 3 cheerleaders/bandmembers in a car wreck. we cried every time we made a touch down and tried not to score, and we still ended up with a lot of points.(i know the score but i'm not posting it). we didn't understand why they made us play the game. i was in the killeen band. when i run across old classmates we still talk about that game and pause for 3 young ladies that are not with us today. i'll never forget them and think about their families from time to time when ever cove and killeen play.

p.s. even if i don't post as much right now as i used to at least i think and engage my brain before i post

I forgot to tell you thank you for the heads up on Klein. You were right and it showed which i posted about after the game. I didn't remember who posted about them being dirty and others were bashing you for facts.

Well i seen it and they lacked discipline and had several person fouls and as far as coaches go, they were an embarassment in my book out there on the field while the other team was running the ball. I know they had 2-3 sideline warnings.

Guess they deserve to be at home now.

If we could all play and win then there would be lik 500 schools with state championships each year but we do not get to decide those games.

Wasnt it Garland (maybe i'm completely wrong and i could look stupid) that beat Lufkin a few years ago in the 1st round of the playoffs. If thats true, i'd rather play Cove than Garland for the simple fact that Lufkin has never played Cove. Cove can't use the "we beat them one time we can beat them again" speech. Actually theres no way any Lufkin fan in their right mind would rather play Cove, at least from a pregame stand point.




But putting all jokes aside, i dont think theirs a single team out there that intimidates Lufkin. Any team that can give the "national champ" SLC dragons two amazing games the two times that they've played shouldnt be intimidated by anybody.

If it ended today SLC is picked to beat Lufkin by 9.
Lufkin is picked to beat Cove by 5 the week before that and we are picked by 4 over Garland.

But we all know we still gotta play the game and that is what some computer figured based on some kind of data.
