As you know, I don't have any love for the Minnesota sports program. Besides my rants about the football team, I've always hated the hockey team and generally have rooted against the basketball team, too.

Regardless of how I feel about Brewster, he's done a good job turning things around this year and he's obviously done a good job recruiting. Through hook or crook or having a silver tongue, he did well to get 4 or 5 good Texas kids last year. My big gripe about Keanon Cooper was never as much about him stiffing Tech as the way he did it by committing and changing the day before signing day. All signs pointed to him wanting to leave Tech high and dry. It seems like he developed some kind of hate for Tech based upon his actions concerning Eric Stephens this year.

All signs so far has pointed to Stephens being a good kid and I think he regrets committing to Minnesota too early. Tonight, he changed to Tech and this is probably the first time in a long time or maybe ever that Tech got 2 commitments from 4-star high school kids on the same day.

We stole one back from them so I'll lay off of them for a while even though one situation was handled a lot better than the other one.

I have got to know the reason behind this.

Minnesota is winning, and Lonny is still not over Keenan Cooper(sp) picking the Gophers over Tech. :D.

That translates to the whole athletic department and hockey team?

The fact that Brewster could get ANYONE to play up in minny is impressive to me. Fine during the summer but that place gets crappy awful quick in the fall. Sure they lost to Northwestern but it couldve been worse, they couldve gone 1-11 or whatever it was last year. Just sayin....

I don't like Gopher sports because they've had off and on shady teams for most of the last 20 something years. That's the way it's been with football and basketball and that was set in stone long before Tim Brewster stepped on campus.

I was a season ticket holder for Alaska-Anchorage in hockey when I lived in Alaska. They're in the same conference with the Gophers, who are like the New York Yankees of college hockey with money and history.

I went to International Falls in August. I stopped by to check out the Paul Bunyan statue and go through the museum about Bronko Nagurski!:D

They got in trouble when Jim Wacker was the coach. Lou Holtz was there and I wasn't a Clem Haskins fan as the B-ball coach.

Hockey is just a pure rivalry thing with me.

I'm not a fan of the political leanings of the state, but I do like the state because hockey means so much at the high school and college levels, not to mention my favorite hockey team used to play at the Met Center and the Cowboys have tormented the Vikings for years!:D

Thanks, I knew there had to be more.

Personally with the exception of when Tellis Redmon and his cousin went there I have probably thought of them four times.

Another aspect is I have an overall hate for the Big 10. I put up with Northwestern, Purdue, and Michigan State to an extent, but I hate Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Minnesota, Illinois, and Wisconsin. I usually root against Penn State and Indiana, but I don't dislike them as much as some.
