There are 3(8-4) teams left, (1 in D1 and 2 in D2) Will any survive the next round? Has there ever been a State champ with 4 or more loses?

I don't know about 5A but there was a lower class team that went 5-5 and won state back when one team represented the district.

I believe Hastings (or Nimitz) made a deep run in 2003 after going 5-5 in the regular season.

I tried to goggle and came up with 1961 Donna Redskins. It didn't give any stats--something about breaking down racial barriers

cyfalls (8-4) has a chance against la porte to go one more week. might be a slim chance, but that is better than none. if they do make it (9-4), they would face winner of katy/wbrook. probably the end of the line there.

Judson should be 9-4 next week. We could even be 10-4 the following and then finish at 11-4. I can dream can't I? ;) Seriously, look for them to finish at 9-5. Three weeks ago I was looking at 5-5 so I am very satisfied.
The first year there were two reps in 5A Beaumont Westbrook won state ('82). I believe they had 4 losses.
