I saw this posted on another messageboard. This kid is going to be a junior next year and I wish SV had him. His name is Noel Devine, this guy is amazing... too bad he's from Florida and probably going to Miami for college.

I've heard some people compare him (Devine) and the Brownsville Rb- Stephens in their style, speed and ability.
I havent seen either play, but would like to.

what seperates some RBs is the ability to keep your feet moving and break tackles. This guy is very good at it. Mcgee and Ivory at Longview are also very good at it. They are fun to watch.

Not Bad....Not Bad At All...
Even though the video quality wasn't great, it's still a fun video to watch with the Miami Canes song, the editting, etc...It's a video that is now saved in my library.

Looks like a talented RB for sure.
Not trying to rain on his parade...but the tackling (or lack of) was horrible.

Well that was a HIGHLIGHT FILM so I am sure the tackling will look horrible on any highlight film for any RB!

I just got done watching film of Jamaal. and wow! it is true you cannot tackle what you have no chance of catching. I think Midland Lee did the best job on him as a defense even though he ripped his foot in their rears. :D

Man i sure do wish i had talent like that... watching people my age with that ability makes me go off into my own little dream world... and in that world i'm that star RB... haha

Bradly Stephens is NOT from Brownsville, he's from McAllen......McAllen Memorial HS to be exact.....and just fyi, even with Stephens and his near 2,000yrd total offensive production, Memorial still hasnt finished better than 3-7 in the last several years, this upcomming season they MIGHT be a 4-6 team....oh and Stephens plays DB as well as TB and he's bigger and faster than Noel Devine as well, 4.41 40, hi 10s 100m, 22.09 200m (1st time running it) and 48 sec 400m....

Noel Devine is a GREAT RB, but when he was timed as far as track speed, he only ran mid to low 11s in the 100m, i realize that track speed and football speed are different but this difference will become more evident when he gets to College, but Devines' vision, lateral movement, quickness and tackle breaking ability will make up for his lack of TRACK speed......Jamaal Charles is the FASTEST RB probably in the country....no Devine is not faster than Jamaal...

Ya, but I saw some Texas games where tackling wasnt top notch. Not knocking Texas because I believe (rightly so) that its the best "OVERALL" High school football in America.
But, that 90 yd touchdown run Mcgee made againt Tyler Lee last year was some sloppy tackling by the REL boys. They had him stopped for no gain and somehow he broke loose from about 7 dudes and took off. It was amazing.
PS. Vondrell Mcgee is very impressive.

You gotta be kidding about that song? Thank GOD there was a volume control to turn the sound down. Made the video more tolerable.

yes, he is very impressive, he plays for a WEAK team, wiht vertually NO HELP at all, yet he makes things happen, IMO any team would be lucky to have him come play for them, because of the fact that he is so versital.....Bradly could play RB, WR, WB, or even DB, but i wouldnt put him at DB because he needs to have the ball to make plays.... watching him play is DEFINETLY worth the price of admission, i must say, that his team SUCKS...but he is GREAT..

Well, sometimes that happens. Great players get stuck on weaker teams.

Hey Newsherrifintown. Sorry, I ask you if they even played football in New York. But, I see that:
2004 Season.
St. Athol (NY) = 28
St.Ignatius (Oh) = 13
Not to bad since both schools were considered top #10 in their respected States. Plus the game was played at St.Iggy.

No problem...
It was by far the best win a NY team has had in a while since St. Anthony's beat St. Joe's from NJ.
St. Iggy's was supposedly way way down last year, and they fumbled 2000 times in the second half, thats why they lost...just ask Concha. lol

That is great he is getting so much attention from the colleges as only a sophomore. You and I know that if MacAllen makes the playoffs, it is highly unlikely they will make it past a second round game. My point is that he probably won't get the big time playoff exposure other kids of his talent would get in the Metro areas of Texas. However with all the college offers, maybe he doesn't need it.

He was the first video that I saw back when I joined the site and realized I was moving to Texas. Then I saw that his team was like 3-7.
If he was in NY, he could play for NY School for the Deaf and win the big school state title.
Between him, Devine(hopefully), and Goodson...there are some great shifty backs in the state of Texas.

Did you just post that Ohio State University is looking at a Texas runningback ? Hmmmmm.

Yep! Ohio State......Can you believe it. They are even talking about him on their boards and have interviewed him. Seems that they found out that he has some relative who is a professor at the school. With this type of connection they may have a chance.

That surprises me totally. You would think they would have an overabundance of high skilled running backs there to pick from. Coming all the way down to good ole Texas just seems like a waste of time and money.
heck, I guess they figured they would join the club with the Pac-10, ACC , SEC and the rest of the Big-10 and start recruiting good ole Tejas.
Ps. I do see that Ohio St has two (2) Texans starting for the defense. That also seems totally crazy since their State emphiases Defense more than Texas.

Yes sir. It's true. All he needs to do is put on some more muscle and some pounds (he's only 200-205) get to about 215-220 and man! watch out.

technically McAllen Memorial has only made the playoffs 2 times in their History....maybe once...., McHi has made it several time as well as NikkiRowe which have both made the 3rd Rd SEVERAL times, Mission, Edcouch Elsa, Harlingen, PortIsabel, Donna, HarlingenSouth, Sharyland, LaJoya, SanBenito, RioGrandeCity, PSJA and PSJA North have ALL made atleast the 3rd rd and all hail from the RioGrandeValley.....fact is that Bradly Stephens plays for a WEAK team that likely wont make the playoffs anytime soon.....if Bradly played for one of the better teams in the RGV like LaJoya, SanBenito, Sharyland or Harlingen they would make a DEEP run into the playoffs, but then again those teams could probably do it without him.... Im not saying that the RGV teams are on par with teams like Lufkin, Longview, Tyler, Katy, SmithsonValley or Southlake, all im saying is that they arent that weak, in case that is what you were eluding to... ;)
