have already ditched their coaches. What other BCS jobs do you see opening up?
I think that Greg Robinson at Syracuse will be shown the door. Don't know if they'll have the guts to do it, but Groh should be booted at UVa. I think he'll get another year, but Croom's seat at MissState is getting warm.
If he plays into the NC game, I wouldn't be surprised to see JoePa step down at a high point and open up Penn State.
In the Big XII, the only one I see a possibility for is Prince at KSU, though I think he gets one more year. That's not factoring in the possibility of Leach bolting. Also, Texas WILL be looking for a new DC after this year.
If that does happen, I wonder if Robinson comes back to Austin.

with his big win on saturday over Texas, Tech coach Mike Leach just got a huge payraise, either from Texas Tech, or look for him to head over to the best open job available..and that is at
Tennessee
Phil Fulmer has lived too long off of that national title he won in 1999. Tennessee has long had a reputation for having good qb's and great WR's, especially in the mid to late 90's and early 2000's...Leach will get all of the top QB's and WR's to run his system in the SEC
Clemson is the second best job available, and I look for them to go after a defensive coordinator, since Tommy Bowden, a so called offensive guru, couldnt get it done. That interm coach they have now will not be the head man going foward
Washington and Syracuse better be prepared to suffer a lil more pain....they are both bad right now, but have had sucess just earlier this decade...the right coach can turn either program around, but they will have to go thru the JUCO route to get guys right away....Washington has a bunch of youngsters playing now, with 24 sophomores and freshmen part of their two deep lineup.
I think the following jobs may have openings as well, BCS wise:
Auburn. Tuberville can kiss the plains goodbye. His hiring and firing of coordinators has finally caught up to him, and he still has Georgia and Alababma left to play......No bowl game for the Tigers this year
Mississippi St....Sly Croom, as great of a story as he is, will not open up his offense, and that will be his demise at MSU...they have a decent defense there, but when you lose game 3-2(to Auburn) 14-13(to Kentucky), and 22-14(LaTech) then you pretty much deserve to get run out.
Iowa-Kurt Frentz...he should have taken the Chicago Bears head coaching job when they offered it to him...he is making $2 million plus and he can only get six wins a season...unless he pulls off the Penn State upset this saturday, he's gone
I think Ron Prince at K-State gets one more year. Al Groh at Virginia has a 6-3 record, so unless they collapse down the stretch, he is safe.
other coaches that will get canned after the season:
San Diego St- Chuck Long....see ya buddy...you blew the Notre Dame game with some stupid play calling..kinda like high school coaches blow playoff games
Steve Kragthrope-Louisville...he may get canned..two straight losses to Kentucky and losing to a weak sryacuse team didnt help..he will have to now beat Rutgers, Cinncinati, Pitt and WVU in his last four games to even make a decent bowl game.
Hal Mumme-New Mexico St...his offense worked every where he went(Southeastern LA...Valdosta St....Kentucky), but in Las Cruces....they just got creamed 49-0 by Boise St, and had the ball for 38 minutes.
Joe Glenn-Wyoming.....hard to get recruits to Wyoming, and Glenn is catching hell in Laramie
Frank Solich-Ohio...he could win in Nebraska because they had recruits. He cant win at Ohio U with second tier athlethes who had Ohio State beat, but were outcoached down the stretch.
Tom Auzmutz-Toledo...will not be back...reassigned to the athlethic office to work out his contract
Neil Calloway- UAB...they have been getting blown out lately. He should have stayed with Richt at Georgia.
Todd Dodge-North Texas St..they have the worst defense in all of football..probably worse than a very weak Washington St team....the administration says he is not in trouble, but when 15 of your 85 players test positive for drugs, and you give up 50 points per game after having the resume he had coaching at Southlake...it makes you wonder...he might get one more year, depending on how the season ends..
Florida International-Rob Christobal...they are just as bad as North Texas.....FIU will not be the "U" of Miami, which was his alma matter and where he got his coaching experience....he may be running out of time.

Robinson might go to USC because he and Carroll were teammates at Pacific, I think. He has been in the NFL most of his career.
