If tech goes undefeated and Texas wins out, let's just go ahead and acknowledge the dominance of the big XII this season and have a rematch in the MNC.
Then the third place Big Xii Team can play in the Fiesta Bowl and roll whatever victim gets sent their way.
before I get ahead of myself there are still regular season games to be played, so here are my rankings-
1. Oklahoma State
2. Oklahoma
3. Baylor
4. Missouri
5. Kansas
6. Tech
7. Texas
8. Nebraska
9. Kansas State
10. Texas A&M
11. Colorado
12. Iowa State
The big XII deserves three BCS teams this season. Heck the way things are going, whoever goes to the Cotton Bowl is going to feel really dissappointed...

Baylor is our opponent 3 games( 4 weeks) from now and therefore, the ranking is legit.
I've been doing this ranking all season, from a Red raider perspective, of course.
Those teams ahead of the Matadors all stand in the way of our goals.

Texas hasn't been ranked below 2 or 3 in the conference in what... 15 years? so you should know they aren't hoops rankings...
They are my Slorchy World Big XII rankings.

I said it as soon as we lost last night.... The BCS would be in our backyard the next day having a cookout with us, kicking back drinking some beer... #4 is a pretty nice spot to be.... Considering who Tech has to play...

Tech could play in the Big XII championship game ranked behind Oklahoma and Texas in the BCS.
Now that the dream of having Penn State, Alabama, and Texas undefeated with Penn State missing out I'm hoping for about a dozen one-loss teams for the most unbelievable amount of chaos the BCS chairmen has ever witnessed.
Imagine the anarchy if these teams all ended with one loss. These rankings could occur without any upsets against unranked opponents.
Texas
Tech
Okie Lite/Oklahoma
USC
Florida
Alabama
Penn State
TCU
Boise State

I see scenario's where UT could play for the NC and not even play for the Big 12 championship, like OU did a few years back...

That is quite a long shot in my opinion.
Tech would have to lose to Oklahoma. Oklahoma State would have to beat Oklahoma. Alabama would have to lose to Florida. And Penn State would have to lose.
I think Florida would pass Texas given that everything above happened but if not Penn State wouldn't need to lose and Texas would be #2 behind Penn State #1 and Florida #3.

and with these last few posts i grow more and more disheartened as to the lunacy that is d-1 non-playoff football.
"cue the requisite explanation as to why po's would be bad for college football" made by the same people that think hs pos are very useful and required. don't we all wish we were down to the last meaningful game before voting for a state champion matchup? who would it be, right this minute? et and either of 2 ahs eagle teams? gpns maybe? that would suck, just like the bscs does.

I agree its a long shot... But I'm just saying its one of many scenarios that could have the Longhorns in the NC game...

Yep... Keep an eye on them... Iowa though a long shot could... But they have to travel to Michigan State to close the season... They have to dodge 3 bullets with a conservative offense... Its gonna get fun...

Ive been asking the same question.

Texas would go to the Big XII championship game. If that happened we would have a real good shot at a title because we would be #3 and then play the Big XII CG against probably a top 12 Missouri.
