Even with this win nobody will give us respect unless we go undefeated into a Big XII Championship game. The two things that Texas fans were doubting was our ability to run the ball and our defense. Well, tonight we outplayed Texas on both of those. I for one hope everyone keeps doubting us, because it keeps us going.

The game was the same garbage we always see. Texas always has the refs in their back pocket vs. us. They were pulling their normal stunts of marking us short and giving you extra yards.
There were a few more calls that went against you than normal, but it's just like the "Go Red Raiders" guy said:
"The Big 12 refs tried to rip us off and we won anyway!"

Oh shut up. The game was fairly called...Take the win and march on to next week. You trying to get more then what you got.."Despite the refs, tech won...thats how awesome we are"... You won and could have easily lost by the same token...You were saved by gideon.
Yeah the refs are the one that blew the coverage on a 91 yard bomb...the refs are the ones that allowed a blocked field goal.......
This was the only reason I didn't mind Tech winning this game....so loony wouldn't spam the board with his conspiracy theories.... but you cant cure crazy I guess

I'm telling you what I saw right before my eyes. I saw the same thing in 2006. I watched them move the ball forward and backwards after it was already placed. I saw guys fall at the 8 and the ball get spotted at the 10, etc.
Taking back the penalty on the punt return was garbage. We saw replays in the stadium with a clear block in the back. At least we got 1 holding call out of you guys. That hadn't happened since 2002.

Get your eyes checked. We all know being at a game is the worst seat in the house - at any level. The block was borderline - but I am surprise they waived it off. I don't know a ton about officiating, but this I do know.
If college refs routinely miss calls - they are gone - plain and simple. I'd say get out of fantasyland - but you won't listen.

I saw a lot of holding on both sides but what amazed me is the blocking in the back penalty they dismissed giving UT a touchdown. That was probably the biggest no-call of the night.

you have been stand up since the game. I noticed it from Sunday on.
That being said, so many UT fans are dogging Tech that we just got lucky and blah, blah, blah. I wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard it definitively said that we will not beat OU and OSU, even though UT pulled it off. That's the same stuff right there. It's like Hornsfans can't let it be , that Tech somehow got ahead of them and stuck with it.
It has been 5 long years since the last win over Texas. I had forgotten how crazy things get for the Orange Uteri following a loss against a team that is totally inferior to them:rolleyes:.
Don't be like aggy and act like Tech is the only one capable of not having dignity or class. PLENTY of Longhorns supporters are acting afool right now.

Tech did not get lucky. Certainly Texas fans are upset and rightly so, because they had the upper hand for the last couple of minutes and you can see one or two plays that would have simply ended the game.
The fact is, well my opinion I guess is that had Texas won, we would have been lucky. If the game were a prize fight and decided by judges at the end, it would have been a unanimous decision in Tech's favor.
As it is, I am disappointed in the outome, but very proud that the team showed the heart to come back. While we are not in the driver's seat we were a week ago, I would have taken a 8-1 record and #4 in the BCS 100 times out of 100 if you gave me that option at the beginning of the season.
On to Baylor and Griffin and hoping we heal pretty quickly. It would kind of suck if Quan had to miss his last game against the Bears.

Enjoy the win bro, they don't come often against Texas.slorch was right that you've acted well. On my part, it's not a case of dignity. I haven't trashed the 'horns after the game. I was rightfully upset about the way the 2nd half unfolded. I've heard people say there was holding on both sides. I have no beef with that. I do know Crab said his PI call was garbage and they should've thrown a flag in the end zone in his favor once.
Somebody said being at the games are horrible for a view, but that's only partially true. At Tech games, I have a great view of what goes on on the North half of the field. My view is not as good on the South end and my gripes are almost always what goes on in front of me. The worst part of the game wasn't the calls or non-calls, but there were a few bad calls. The worst thing was how the officials were spotting the ball and that's something you see at the game a lot better than on TV if you have a good view. I only mentioned spots on the North end. I can't distinguish the South end as well. I saw a repeat of 06 in that regard where Tech was getting cheated on almost every spot. I saw one time in the game that I swear somebody moved the chains because there was no way UT got a first down. The problem is the guy doing the spotting is always on the side of the visiting team. Just like 06, that guy did more to hurt Tech than any of the officials did. Overall, the game was called more fairly than the 06 game I hated so much.

That is just dopey. At home, you have no one in front of you. You can see the field from the perfect angle, and replay. None of those you can do at the game.

It's not dopey. Some things are better at home. Some are better at games. At games, you can catch things not on camera. Sure you get replays and a better view on what the camera shows, but that's not everything.
I know for sure you get a better view on spots in front of you if you're at the game. At the game, you don't get a good view on spots away from you, but I don't gripe about those.

Yeah, you can see exactly when their knee touches.
You can see exactly what yard line they are on.
In order to have a better view, you have to be directly on the yard line and only can see w/out an angle for certain about ten yards. You also have to hope that you can see the player's knee and that there is no one in front of you. You have no reverse angle.

It was definitely worth the money. My ticket in the season ticket package was $55 and I've often said I'll drive to games and stay to the end of games because you never know what will happen. I've been watching football for 30 years and I'd have to say that the 4 plays I most would've wanted to see by teams I like, I was fortunate enough to be in the crowd for.
I'll always remember a Mt. Pleasant TD pass to win a game vs. Liberty-Eylau in 1988.
I won't ever forget the TD pass for Judson to beat Midland in 2002.
The TD pass to Robert Johnson to beat A&M in 2006 was great.
If Tech goes on to win a national title, the Crab catch vs. Texas will trump the Judson catch.
Right now, I can't think of any memorable football play I missed in a game that I had a chance to go to. I blew it by not going to the OU game last year, but there isn't anything in that game or about that game that tops the Texas game on Saturday.

. I will slap any Horn across the face that says Tech got lucky....You don't get that lucky...You just play lights out.
I can't take responsibility for people who seem to have sucked the logic out of thinking and claim that Tech wouldn't have a chance against either OU or OSU...Texas beat both, so it is 100% reasonable to believe that Tech can achieve the same since they beat Texas...and had it not been for some breaks in the second half, it could of been a lot worse for us. Personally, i hope they lose to at least 1 of the two to throw us back into the championship game. I believe we are better then #7 in the coaches poll, and about right in the BCS.
I was asking Lonny to have some dignity, take the win...and put away his quack job theories just for one night...Enjoy it. Winning is fun, Sure as hell makes your Sundays a whole lot easier when chit chatting with the congregation horn fans or Tech fans.

Fair enough. The more I hear about Geoff Ketchum, the more I think he has an axe to grind with Tech, but I don't know why. He's in the middle of a good amount of the lucky talk, though. That game proved that both teams are among the absolute elite in football this year and I don't think it changes much in the next few years. I think we're entering a time period where having Texas players is a godsend to a college football team.
Man, the Big 12 is just like I started seeing back in September. This is the hardest the South has been in 13 years. I don't think it gets any easier, either. I knew Tech and OSU were pushing hard to run with Texas and OU and the hard work is paying off, but it hasn't been cheap!:D It's a good thing we've sold out the East Side suites and box seats that they're getting ready to build after the Baylor game!

I agree, it would be awesome.I was all for the Big 12 breaking up and have said from Day 1 I didn't care if Tech was in a conference with UT. I just wanted a good landing spot for us. You won't find any posts where I said it was unethical for Texas to leave the Big 12. I'd love to not be in their conference because I'm tired of the unfair playing field. I don't want it if Tech doesn't have a good option for the future, though, which is something that nobody can say pro or con would happen.
As far as revenue sharing goes, I think it should be split evenly for TV money. I've never been a big fan of the NFL types trying to corner the market for all extra money like they've fought the Cowboys on, but the TV money should be split because it takes both teams for a game. Tech brings more exposure to the Big 12 than just 3 teams. The only teams in the last few years with more TV time are UT and OU.
I've always said Pied was a great name for you because you're very consistent about spreading deceit.
Tech is such a hot commodity. I don't know why they bother sticking around. I would go independent. They would make way more money than UT. The fan base is far reaching and HUGE. Every game would probably be at 7PM on ESPN.

I will find a post where it was terrible to keep the conference together.
Texas is a disgrace to the state and their fans are accomplices in all of this because they defend every dirty thing they do. I hope some of you guys are now seeing what I've been saying about UT all these years and why I speak of them with complete and total disdain. Once you can accept the fact that Texas will stoop to many levels to disparage Nebraska, A&M and whoever else gets in their way, you're about ready to believe they'll do anything possible to gain the favor of on-field calls and we already know they want an uneven playing field with conference decisions.
See I think you are jealous. That makes you crazy and distorts your thought process and makes you look like a kook to many of us.
As far as spreading deceit, you've never said that on this board(that I could find), so until proven otherwise, I will continue to say you make crap up.
I still think you make crap up to further your beliefs. I think at some point you buy into it, and think the crap you make up is true. May not be al that bad a quality some times. You can live in your own little world....

I will find a post where it was terrible to keep the conference together.
See I think you are jealous. That makes you crazy and distorts your thought process and makes you look like a kook to many of us.
As far as spreading deceit, you've never said that on this board(that I could find), so until proven otherwise, I will continue to say you make crap up.
No, I've never said anything about deceit on the board. I've said it to myself.
I'm not jealous and never have been. I was even thinking about that yesterday. There was some preacher on the radio and I got to thinking how never in my life have I ever been able to say, "I wish I was like him" and I've never looked up to anybody. Nobody has ever been my hero. There are things I appreciate about people and take from them to apply to my life, but I'm just not the jealous type. I've always wanted to be me, not somebody else. Sure, it would be nice to have some strong points I see in others, but I've also always been keenly aware of my individual strengths.
Yeah, I said it was terrible to keep the conference together. I said Texas' rules will always lead to the downfall of a conference. It's not a coincidence that for all the glory of Texas, they sure are bad for the long-term viability of their conferences. I even said conferences would be better off not inviting the 'horns. Texas is like the high maintenance beuaty queen that is so bad to deal with that you eventually want a divorce.
I don't make stuff up, other than that time I posted fake scores in a Judson playoff game!:D

ou was part of the SWC then the Big 8 then the Big 12.
Texas was part of the SWC then the Big 12.
How did Texas bring down the SWC?
Texas Tech was part of those two as well(SWC/Big 12), but also part of the Border Conference, correct? Seems that Tech has been part of more conferences that have become defunct than Texas, right?
