who is better...lufkin or westfield

my cousin and his friend were having an argument and his friend thinks westfield is invincible...ive told my cousin all about the playmakers from lufkin and why i think lufkin is better and that no team is invincible...my cuz is a member on here and he wants to know what everyone thinks

Why does it matter? They are in two different divisions. Since Westfiled is mostly a senior team and Lufkin with lots of juniors, I may give Westfield the edge here, but not by much.

Westfield is the best team in the state in my opinion and no one can touch them. I'm not even sure Lufkin will make it to the finals.

Well westfield doesn't have to play the best team in the state to get there and lufkin does. But westfield is an awesome team, I think they have about the same amount of talent, either team could beat the other on any given day.

I'll say Westfield ONLY because teams have been scoring more against Lufkin so far in the playoffs. It would be a great game to watch but it ain't gonna happen this year.

After what I saw them do to a VERY good North Shore team. Aint nobody in the entire state that could beat them including the D2 side of the teams. I am so glad that they went to D1 and Katy went to D2!

Doesn't matter - they will not play each other. If they both go undefeated we still will not know. This dual playoff system does not allow a final championship game and to find out who is the # 1 team. We have two # 1 teams in Texas Class 5A. :(

Westfield putting up 42 points against Katy or Lufkin? Wouldn't happen. Westfield's greatness is based on beating mediocre teams both in the regular season and playoffs. The only impressive victory thus far was the Norhshore game. Lufkin was playing those same mediocre Houston teams and its taken them a couple of games to adjust in the play-offs. Could Westfield have made the adjustment? Perhaps, but we will never know. Katy, SLC, Lufkin or Abilene would have put an end to their title hopes if they had landed in Div.2. Westfield only looks unstoppable because they are playing in Div. 1.

I've seen both teams play as well, and even though I love the Pack, I think Westfield would have the advantage on the defensive side of the ball, and with the experience. Westfield's offensive line is for real and they would wear down the Panther defensive front. Westfield made NS do things they didn't feel comfortable doing. NS didn't look like the same team I had seen before. Westfield this year is just better.

Sorry LUFPAN, I've seen all of these teams play......and Westfield would embarrass them! I played the game for long time, and I like to believe I can recognize certain things about teams!!

I see more fans for Lufkin voting them just because its there own team. Oh well, by the way... Westfield has better offense and better defense too but I know Lufkin has very good defense, thats it...

I hate to respond to threads like this, but here it goes anyway. Lufkin and Westfield will not play this year, so there is no need to go back and forth. The one time they did play lufkin won in 2001 on their way to a state title. The only common opponent they had last year was Tyler Lee, which lufkin beat earlier that year, which is the same team that beat Westfield in the title game. Now with all that being sad it is possible that the two could end up in the same district next year from what i hear which could set up a nice rivalry. So u guys should save your breath...Westfield gets to play N.Shore about once a year in the playoffs to prove themselves. Lufkin has played the likes of Katy,The Woodlands, Longview, Tyler Lee, Shreveport Evangel(before they fell off) Southlake Carrol, Aldine Eisenhower when they were contenders, along with a host of other good teams on the regular. Now lufkin didnt win ever game but, they won a whole lot more than they lost. with the exception of two close games with SLC and Evangel, lufkin has handled all those teams pretty well. I will have more respect for the Westfields of the world when they beat someonelse other than the annual westfield vs. n.shore game. so good luck the rest of the way and if we are lucky we may be in the same district next year, which i have very little doubt that lufkin would dominate that district also.

Wait..how many championships has Westfield won?..do they have to win at least one before they are kings of the world? Just a thought....I guess if they want to prove they can beat some of these top teams they ought to play them..

While I certainly respect you professional opinion, you have to prove that you can win big games. So far Westfield hasn't proven that.

Kind of a pointless thread considering these teams will not meet?? Oh well it is just fan's yapping so let me give it a try. ;) Westfield was supposed to be God's last year after absolutely destroying Judson and Northshore and guess what happened?? OMG they amazingly lost to Tyler Lee a team Lufkin beat by 10 points?? :eek: :eek: LOL Lufkin is 1-0 vs Westfield (but that was 2001 and means nothing) Everybody on reality knows that div2 is 10 times as tough as div1 this year overall, and if you say different then i and most of texas will consider you blind!! j/k I would say the same if div1 was that much better!! I am a realist!! Most know Westfield will beat Trinity for the div1 title unless some minor miracle happens. Westfield might have won the div2 title but i seriously would doubt it (in my opinion) and you can think the UIL for that. All this opinion garbage is just that!! Opinion's nothing more!! Who knows??
