I am guessing that at this point the 1 week of great defense had alot to do with the opponet as well as it being a home game... We are just not getting it done against the run... We got gashed against Hebron and we must get this at least a little better than we have, I'm all for just slowing them down a little.. I know Lewisville has had a poor season thus far, but they have gotten several players back on defense and played both Hebron and Coppell very tough... We must also consider that this is Lewisville's final game of the season and you can bet they want to start the off season with a win..

We are back at home though, and thus far have played well at Dragon stadium... I trully feel like Carroll will dominate this game.. but I need to let them practice a few times before giving a prediction... More to come..

As far as FarmerFan goes, I do believe he will indeed come to Dragon stadium albeit lit up like a Christmas tree, but i believe he will come and cheer his Fighting Farmers on for their final game..

Wasson needs have this team firing on all cylinders in preparation for a run in the play-offs, which will most likely start against Colleyville. This game is the perfect chance for Wasson to have everything corrected as the result has no bearing on play-off qualification; as the Dragoins are in D2 as the second D2placed team.

Well guess who runs...you better be ready next week..Lewisvilles #1 is like a squirrel...fast and can direction on a dime...he also doesn't go down on the first tackle...strong kid. It is not going to be easy as you think.

Lewisville won't score that much but then neither will Southlake on the Lewisville D.

I'm still thinking about this game, but probably somewhere in the 20's.

Yea Peach thats kinda how we feal as well.. Its not a good week to be playing another run team... our boys will have to tighten the belts a bit and dig in... If we could just tackle... just tackle the man, we could be fine... Just suttle, simple things could get us where we want to be...

SLC... you have a great team, but if you take the Farmers lightly (already looking at the playoff line-up), you will lose. Lewisville is a scrappy team that plays every down. Their LBs are extremely quick and the team plays with a bad *** attitude that will cause the opposing team to make emotional mistakes. I'm going with the Farmers this week on another SLC upset.

Correct me if I am wrong but the way I see it SLC still has to win this week against Lewisville.

As it sets

Hebron 4-0
FMM 3-1
SLC 2-2
FM 2-2
Coppell 2-2
Lew 0-4

Herbron plays FMM this game has no effect on PO"S
FM plays Coppell

If FM wins and SLC was to lose, SLC and Coppell would be tied and Coppell would go to PO's because they beat SLC

In my books this is a HUGE REASON not to look past this week's game!

No prediction.... Just an observation!

I think FM is 1-3.

IMO, the Dragons got a little dose of humility Friday night, and because of that, they won't be looking past anyone anytime soon. The Carroll defense will respond against an inept Lewisville offense and the Carroll offense will score enough against a pretty good Lewisville defense.

Yeah what HebronDad said.

Carroll should win this game, but if they are distracted LHS could take it. IMO that was why the Hebron score was 10-7. LHS has a strong defense and Hebron was distracted by the upcoming Carroll game.

There can be a 3 way tie, SLC/Coppell/FM, but I think the tie braker is on points or the number of players that have scored and I think SLC is ahead on this.

I'm not sure what you mean by that... Humility is basically the same as humbleness... So your saying our kids arent humble?... and how is it you know this?.... I do not think the Drgaons look past any team. Carroll was simply not adequately prepared for Hebron, resulting in Carroll being out-played in every facet of the game. I hope the coaching staff are better prepared this week, otherwise Lewisville will inflict a third district loss on the Dragons.

I would love to see a Farmers victory here..........just don't think there is much chance there. They did make the Hawks earn their W and Hebron just punched SLC in the mouth, but that was at a time when there was still something (playoff picture) to play for. I know the Farmers are full of pride and intensity (some times to their detriment) but I don't think that is enough for a Farmer win this Friday.

Sad to say that.

Either way, I think I am going to show up on the Visitors side just in the off chance that I may witness the beginning of the rebound of Farmer Football.

Heads up about the tailgating in Lewisville. Last year our tailgate crew had it all set up and were about to heat up the ribs and the Health department showed up and told them they needed a health department certificate to serve food. They went over and told the Lewisville people and said the same thing. They let us go ahead and cook hamburgers and hotdogs as long as they used a meat thermomoter and hand sanitizer. But they could not serve the ribs because they were not fully cooked at the sight. You might want to call Lewisville town hall and ask. Lewisville is real strict about food being served in it's city limits.

One lady could not even serve her deviled eggs because they were not cooked on sight.

Just so everyone knows... I will not be at the Carroll/Lewisville game Friday night... I will be attending the "Battle of the Axe" game featuring the Sherman Bearcats and the Denison Yellow Jackets. I am a Denison alum and my wife is a Sherman alum... I feel bad for not being able to go out and cheer these young men on, but this is a blood rivalry... In fact these 2 teams not only hate each other, but these 2 towns have hatred for each other regardless of sports... This is one of the oldest rivalries in the state of Texas.. I have attended it every year since I graduated except 02 and 05.

I know all the Dragon faithfull will miss having my pretty face there, but no worries, I will be back in full force the following weekend..

You're right, I've never met a Carroll kid face to face, except if you count the time I met Riley Dodge when he was eight years old when the Dodge's lived in Carrollton breifly. But that is immaterial.

What a shocking weekend of football.
KT was texting me on Friday Night and made me aware of the scores from 6-5A.
I hurt for the Farmers as it sounds they once again left it all on the field only to come up just short once again. Good job boys on representing us well and leaving it all on the field. You deserve better but there are just no breaks in this district.
As for Carroll and Hebron, only word I can say is, WOW. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see the outcome of that game be so much in favor of the Hawks. Hopefully the district 6-5A fans will get the pleasure of watching these two teams play again in 5 weeks.
As for me making my way into Dragon Stadium, sholuld I be fearful of something? Will I not be welcomed and have my legs broken?;)
Let me recover this week from my wild and shocking weekend and go to the Dr to have my liver checked out and I will then think about attending this game.

I will leave my score prediction which is pointless anyway until Thursday as usual but I the reason I think we win is that while the Farmers have a great defense they do not have a potent enough offense, thank God to beat us.

Well it could take some time, apparently to some posters everyone in the area knows how to defend the spread now so we are sunk.

I hear we will be running the Wing T or the veer this Friday although someone mentioned tight end at practice and all the players stared at each other because they had never heard that term before.

He probably does, but it might have some deer parts on it somewhere..

Man. all season I have been predicting easy wins for the Dragons.. I want to say the results should show me I'm wrong, but I just think at some point the staff and players are gonna get it fixed... I certainly believe Carroll is going to start clicking on all cylinders soon.. I certainly hope this game tells us alot, either way about this team... It should set the tone for the playoffs either way... Normally I am quick to post my prediction, but I think I will wait till later this week...

Never say die, I'm going back to the well one more time this regular season to provide this forum with the breakdown of things we'll see Friday nite at the Library...

* The Dragon Shop runs a clearance sale on Dave Campo Halloween masks, left over from last week...

* As a service for some of the avid season ticket holders, daily newspapers are hawked by vendors so they have something to do when the game starts...

* Knowing this game may be another high scoring affair, OC Poe orders his guys to go without showers for the week to be as offensive as possible...

* DC Wilson meanwhile, breaks the game down to its simplest phase by forcing a pre-read of " Tackling for Dummies" for his unit...

* A see saw first half keeps everybody in their seats as the drama of the evening builds, the Dragons clinging to a 28-14 halftime lead.

* Final score- SL 42, LHS 17

I hope it will feel like old times getting back to a 5-5A opponent for Rd 1. Got a good feeling on that match-up...

It is Thursday morning and time for another prediction that I am sure will not be close. Farmer I think my visionary powers are dissipating.

However I am predicting the Dragons win 31-13.

The offense will fire on all cylinders, we will give up a long run for a touchdown and 2 field goals.

It is Thursday, so I need to stand up and be counted. I have concerns about the enigma that is the 2008 Dragons. It just depends which version of the 2008 Dragons plays on Friday night. The team that played last week against Hebron or the team that put away the Colts and the Skeeters.

I just cannot believe that the Dragons will lose 3 regular season games and to a winless in district Lewisville as well.

While I do not expect the spectacular from the Dragons, I think there will be a workmanlike performance both sides of the ball; with a Dragon win by score of :-

Carroll : 31
Lewisville : 17

Alright... After a long week of practice and soul searching... The Dragons get it righted this Friday night at Dragon stadium... The crowd roars loudly and the air horn blows alot... Carroll knowing this is their last live action before the playoffs come out ready to make a statement against the Farmers..

I predict the Dragon boys will run enough, and throw alot..

I also predict the Farmers will run alot, and throw a little... The runs will head them 2 TD's and the throws will head them 1 int. They get 1 field goal

I am thinking this game will result in a big Carroll Dragon win.. Score is about like this....

Dragons 45

Farmers 17

Toonman is the glass always half empty to you?

No, I always see the glass half full; as I am a very positive person, but I try and take an objective view by analyzing the facts, coming to rational conclusion; while endeavoring not see everything through green tinted eyewear.

The facts are that this season's Dragons have not been the epitome of consistency, are not the world beating team of recent years and I am sure you will agree that a Dragon win in district is not the 'given' it has been in the past 8 seasons or so.

After tomorrow I hope to see another 6 Dragon games, but the evidence of the games played this season would suggest that this is less than likely outcome for the remainder of the season. I do not see that as viewing the glass half empty, in fact being in the play-offs gives me much optimism; in that anything can happen, especially as the first round opponent is against a team which has never beaten the Dragons in each of the previous 9 games ever played.

Okay, maybe I am in denial but here is the way I see the defense. We struggle against big athletic o-lines. We do not struggle against the pass since Shawn Hoagland showed up to complement Kacy Rodgers. Unless you specialize in running we will dog you and shut you down.

In the Hebron game we were in it until late in the 4th. Our offense doesn't score like it did with Padro but DP is getting better. Coppell was an eery night. They wanted us bad. The defense gave up 57 points but was put in several bad field positions because of poor special teams plays or turnovers. And it took double overtime to beat us.

All I am saying to Dragon fans is we still have a damn good football team. I don't care what outsiders think but I wouldn't want to kick this Dragon unless I was sure it was already dead.

The brutal, pure truth. Toon manages to keep his objectivity in check better than most of us do on a day to day basis. Most of his concerns have played themselves out this season as legitimate. This team has a real chance to catch lightning in a bottle and make a run that could lead them to the last game of the year. Problem is this same team could very well be eliminated in round two. I refuse to even ackowledge the possibility of a loss to the kittens down the road.;):D

Agreed. This group has alot of potential and has shown the ability to unleash it. We'll need that to be on a consistently constant display for the next seven weeks, though. Failure to do that during the p/o's will guarantee a trip home. I feel good about the kids, though, and believe we may still have a few good fights left in us.

- Dragons will play solid run defense and tackle well
- Dragons will force a couple of turnovers

The Dragons effort was good. Lewisville is not a very good team. The Dragons need to learn to put a team away. 3 turnovers and only 7 points will not work against a decent team. Tommy looked good tonight. O-line looked like they could hustle a bit more. Is it possible that we could overthrow Popkin just once? He has been open by 5 yards 3 different times this year and we have underthrown him each time. Defense had a good night against a bad offense. Only one blitz that I counted!
Go Dragons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
