Abilene has clinched (based on tie breaker victory over Richland and the #1 seed) the 3-5A district title, however, Richland can not place any lower than second in district, and is assured to be in div II based on enrollment size of the next 3 schools fighting for the last 2 spots from 3-5A.

Arl. Bowie has clinched (based on tie breaker victory over Arlington) the #1 seed and the 4-5A district title. Sam Houston and Mansfield Summit are officially eliminated, meaning only 1 potential 4-5A team, Mansfield, is smaller enrollment than Bowie.

Therefore, we know for certain that Arl. Bowie and Richland will be meeting in the first round somewhere in the metroplex, regardless of week 9 results. I have heard that the Gopher/Warrior Bowl or Pennington Field are the most likely locations.

Richland played a very good game tonight against Abilene....they could make some noise in the playoffs.

Yes. I think a Bowie - Richland matchup is one of those big playoff games that is uncommon in the first round.

That would be a big first round matchup...both teams shoud go into that game with identical 9-1 records. Don't know much about Bowie other than their record....any info?
