This article kinda sorta implies that the Dragons are a little leary of the Eagles. I'm confident in my team :D

But is Southlake Carroll looking forward to a rematch with the Eagles?

If it's any indication, the scouts for the Dragons in the press box at Lowrey Field on Friday night were rooting pretty hard for Monterey.

Thats mostly because we could have played Monty at Dragons Stadium if we so chose...whipped them in Lubbock in 02...

Actually we played (and nearly LOST) to them in 03. We got up on them early in the game and in the 2nd half they came roaring back and nearly defeated us. A very controversial (and incorrect) call by the refs at the end of the game helped to preserve the Dragons victory. Had the stripe's call gone the other way i'm fairly sure SLC would have lost. Monty plays amazing in the post-season.

Monty gave Carroll the toughest game of the 03 playoffs, but Carroll deserved to win & did...the call was correct, but contriversial because it was in Lubbock

Very true Phoenix. We have the mis-fortune of playing them in our pre-district schedule most years. We usually beat them which just adds to the dilema of having to face them again the playoffs. Monty gets better through the year (after they have accumulated 3 or 4 losses) and come playoff time they are loaded for bear. It didn't help that we had to go to their backyard to play them but we owed them on the home and home deal. We still should have beaten them by 14-17 though IMHO. :(
