LH wins in OT! 48-42. LH wins 9-5a and hopes to close out with an undefeated record next week against an over-matched Molina team.
I'm going to take this from the LH point of view, so Creekview fans, don't get mad at me. Creekview played great. They are really tough to stop and will make some people nervous in the playoffs. Nothing more can be said.
Tonights game, well what can you say. It was one of the best games of the year, back and forth, back and forth. LH hangs 22 in the 3rd on Creekview to take a 35-28 lead, but Creekview punches one in on the first play of the 4th. 35 all. LH takes the kickoff back 75 yards and scores on the drive within 2 minutes...that's the type of ballgame it was all night.
Antoine Harrison for LH played the best game that I've seen him play...ever. He was unreal...ran around people, cut back against the field at opportune times, and when they were in his way, he ran over them as he did on one TD. I think he was sick of the losing the last few years and did not want to finish his home career on a down note.
Ricky Zorn was Ricky Zorn and soph Des Roland ran hard as always. Billy Allen made some clutch grabs. The defense made just enough stops including 4 and out on the 1st possesion of OT. David Green, a soph CB, made the defensive play of the game on that drive playing the pitch man perfectly and stopping him for a 4 yard loss bringing up 3rd and long. Reid McCann played the inside veer like a champ and the entire team got physical including two of the biggest hits I have seen all year right in front of me.
The crowd was loud...reminded me of the 90s. Good times are returning to The Boneyard. Can they make some noise in D2 this year? I don't know...don't bet against them though. They don't back down from anyone and are playing with supreme confidence right now. I'd pit the offensive skill positons against anyone in the state and feel good about my chances. They only need a couple of stops every game to have a real chance of winning.

Wow! Congrats to the Wildcats! Looks like Lake Highlands is back to playing some pretty good football.
Too bad Cooper and LH won't meet up for the revenge game ('96). ;)

Didn't LH go like 2-8 last year?! What is the difference between that team and this years team?

Yes, the schedule is different from last year but also consider the team has matured, has not plagued by injuries this year, and has a relatively new coaching staff.
You might remember the players had been brought up thru the Junior High and Freshman Center using Coach Gayden's style in preparation for HS football.
All that changed when Scott Smith became head coach in June 2006.
The players have been transitioning to Coach Smith's style and have done very well with it this year.
Additionally - The team has done well academically. The players have done their best to keep their grades up so they can continue to play football.
I am very proud of the players and the coaching staff - they have all worked very hard and done a really good job getting to where they are this season.
Argue the schedule if you like....
I will be watching how they do on the field to tell the story!
:D
Don't get me wrong...ALL the players on ALL the teams work hard to play football.
They ALL exhibit courage and determination to play the game we love.
They work hard on the field, in the classroom & do their homework.
They stay out of trouble.
These fine young men are the future of our country.
I salute their hard work, team spirit, courage, and determination !

both LH and Creekview are infinitely better than last year. Some would argue that Berkner benefitted most from the new district - however, from what I hear, they are better than last year as well. Skyline was good last year, and this district has actually been quite an upgrade from what they played last year.
WT White, Molina and Sunset are 3 of the worst 5A programs in the metroplex...
