The fact that Bush got the opportunity to gets those yards is amazing. How many kickoffs did he receive? That is never a good sign. He is a good player, but if a lot of good players got 37 touches against Fresno State they would probably have close to as many or more yards than Bush. We will never get to know, because Fresno State will never be in a game with a supposed great team full of great players in the fourth quarter

It's foolish to try and compare the two now head-to-head simply because they are not used the same way just yet. Bush touches the ball a lot more, but RT seems to make more out of his touches. Those are really the only facts we have and this is just not enough to make a head-to-head comparison. All we can debate is ability and I don't think anybody would argue that RT has the God given ability to duplicate what Bush is doing. SUC turned Bush loose a long time ago and we are all hoping Mack and Co. do the same with RT.

He had a stellar night at running back, enjoying the wide open lanes left from a weak defense, and was usable out of the backfield to receive. However, his 500+ yard performance cannot even come close to what VY did against Oklahoma state, considering 151 of Bush's yards came on returns, and any other returner would have gotten the same thing. Jesus dude.. Fresno St has Fres(NO) defense. Its the WAC Conferense where they play high powered offense agaisnt weak power defense.

If you put UT on the field with Fres(NO) defense and had Ramonce Taylor getting about 40 touches with the ball on running, swing passes and KR and PR I have no doubt that he has the ability to get tons and tons of yardage against Fres(NO) defense.

PS. Like a few others have stated. Ramonce Taylor wouldnt get that many yards against Fresno St because Texas would of been up like 20 pts by halftime and he would of only gotten about 10 touches.

Ya... I just kept laughing with amazment everytime USC ran the ball off left tackle and it was like no one was there playing defense. There was no defender in the ballpark until he was 40 yds down the field.

Just to give an example of how poor Fresno St defense is..

Nevada's RB- Robert Hubbard ran for (16-146 yds -3tds) and KR (3-57 yds) against Fresno State.

Before this game Robert Hubbard had about (400 yds rushing on the season). He's biggest game of the year was against a "WEAK" Fresno St defense.

So, not saying that Reggie Bush isnt a great player. Just put things into perspective on who he had his 500 total offense day against (Fresno St). Especially after he had like 40 touches against Fresno St.

I'm sure if a player like Ramonce Taylor had about 40 touches against a poor Fresno St defense (running, KR, PR) he would put up almost 500 yds also. 100% no doubt about it.

I think your right... He'll makes some plays no doubt. But, this whole "walk on water" persona that the some of the national press has put on him wont fly.

I do believe he has had a couple of sub-par average games this season that you dont really hear anything about.

But, he had a huge day against a "pathetic" Fresno State defense and special teams so he's the greatest thing "ever".

The Fresno State run D was a rock all season long against lousy WAC teams, and then it faced USC and Nevada. Everyone knows about Reggie Bush’s big day leading the Trojans to 308 yards on the ground and five touchdowns, and then Nevada tore apart the Bulldogs with 235 yards and four touchdowns, and it would’ve been a fifth if Robert Hubbard hadn’t chosen to go down at the one and run out the clock in the final few seconds. Louisiana Tech is up next for Fresno

This is right out of the Collegefootballnews. They even make an article about how sorry Fresno St defense and run defense has been all year against mostly weak competition.

I still say Ramonce Taylor and Texas offense would of killed and ran all over Fresno St defense just as bad.

Everyone knows that Reggie Bush is a great player. I still think that if Texas played agaisnt Fresno State and gave Ramonce Taylor the ball about 35 to 40 times on (runs, KR, PR). Ramonce Taylor could have a huge game with almost 500 yds of total offense also. He has those same kind of game breaking abilitites to take a run for 80 yds on any carry.
