Pearland didnt get to play Memorial who is 5-1 at the moment because of Hurricane Ike... dont blame them for dominating bad DISTRICT teams... They have no control over them...

I'll tell you what...you come set up the schedule for us. All we can do is keep beating the :Censor: out of whomever gets put in front of us. TW has beat every weak team the way they're supposed to...20+ points each (40 pts average).
I cannot...CANNOT...wait until the state semi finals. Trinity better keep winning.

For the most part, TW is injury free (very minor stuff). The better news is that our roster is 90 deep and our 2nd and 3rd string players are very capable.

It is going to be very difficult for Trinity to get that deep into the playoffs to be able to meet your team. I hope that we can make it!
Honestly the only thing a team can control about their competition is to play a tough non-district schedule. You can only play the teams on that schedule.
Trinity had the best team in 2005 but most of all the talent went to D-2 that year and since there are two team left standing every year we were unable to prove that we were the best team. This same kind of arguement was used against us in 2005.
I guess you can agure both ways whether you can tell who will win a game by comparing stats. Maybe a litttle easier by common opponents. I guess it can make for good speculation even though it is based more on fiction than fact.:D

Most schools don't want to play the good teams in the state. This year, Katy had to go to Waco to play and was scheduled to go to Beaumont to play. When it was all said and done, we still had an open spot and Titus Marketing stepped in and helped put together the game with that chump team from Florida.
The other problem is that if you play great teams week in and week out, you won't even make it to the play-offs. You'll be so beat up and exhausted you would want to throw in the towel. It's good to get a few good games thoughout the year and spend the rest of your time against teams not as good so you can hone your skills and be ready come playoff time.

TEXAS 5A FOOTBALL CANCELLED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR
We interrupt this program to bring you this important breaking news from the Texas University Interscholastic League:
In a historic, unheralded and remarkable decision the Texas University Interscholastic League has just voted in favor of CANCELLING THE REMAINDER OF THE 5A TEXAS FOOTBALL SEASON and awarding the Euless Trinity Trojans the outright championship for Division 1.
This decision is apparently based solely on the weak opponent schedules of the top Houston Area teams, namely the teams defeated by the unbeaten North Shore, Pearland and The Woodlands teams.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a high ranking UIL staffer claimed,
"We all knew how it was going to end up this year anyway. Those teams from down Houston way just can't seem to show us anything this year. And there ain't no question that the Trojans are the dominant team in all of North Texas...dang, even the whole world. We thought it would be best to spare any significant injuries to those kids down there in the Houston area and let all the Trinity players go ahead and get lined up with their college coaches. It's a tough decision, but we made it with the best interest of those poor Houston area teams in mind. They can look forward to basketball, or debate, or band...heck, maybe even girls soccer, down there...that's what they need to focus on. If you'll excuse me I've got to get on over to the Dallas Petroleum Club and meet with some Trinity Boosters about the parade. Thank ya'll. Seeya next year."
The award ceremony and parade plans are forthcoming for Trinity, who has played arguably one of the toughest schedules in all of Texas 5A history this year.
Football fans from around the state are invited to view the parade on their local affiliates, and preliminary discussions indicate that it will preempt the formerly scheduled local, live Texas 5A football games that were originally scheduled, but now cancelled, for those markets.
Euless Trinity, the reigning Texas 5A State Champion, adds another jewel in its prestigious crown, claiming the Texas 5A Football Championship by default. Additionally, there has been some discussion with USA Today and some other state's prep sports associations to ban the game of big school football across the nation for the balance of the year.
This pending and possible action would assure the Euless Trinity Trojans of the undisputed national title that, from the beginning of the season, has been a foregone conclussion. Apparently, Trinity just has played too many great teams and beaten them all resoundingly...causing this abrupt but reasonable and merciful decision to halt high school football as we know it...and calls all teams, players, coaches and fans from around the state to bow in reverance and recognize perhaps the greatest high school team ever...with the toughest schedule ever, as the undisputed Kings of High School Football for 2008.

My Houston Area Top 10
1. The Woodlands
2. North Shore
3. Pearland
4. Hightower
5. Katy
6. Cinco Ranch
7. Aldine Eisenhower
8. Beaumont West Brook
9. Deer Park
10. Clear Lake
This is the best Woodlands team since 2003 in my opinion. North Shore is typically outstanding on defense, but the offense must step up if the Mustangs want to emerge as possible state contenders. Pearland is quietly having a very good season. They have their showdown with Deer Park this week. Hightower is talented and experienced across the board. This could be the best team they've ever had. Katy is much improved over where they were to start this season. If the Tigers clean up unforced errors, they could be in the state semis again. Cinco Ranch could be a real darkhorse in the D1 field this year. Eisenhower stumbled out of the blocks against North Shore and Hightower, but appear to be clicking in district play. West Brook has a very talented team, but they've been nailed by the injury bug. If they can get healthy, they will be a D2 region challenger. Deer Park is still undefeated, and put that to the test against Pearland this week. Clear Lake lost a shocker to Clear Brook (14-13), but the only other blemish is a loss to The Woodlands immediately after the Hurricane break. This is Clear Lake's strongest team since 2004.

the employment of sarcasm, irony or keenness of wit in ridiculing vices

Sorry you missed the wit. It's reasonable to deduce that a "fact" like da wiz brought up was solely intended for discussion...he wanted to poke the fire...he did.
Granted, I only was able to note Euless in his header, and never found Trinity anywhere... is that good for a consolation of $250,000?

Keller Fossil Ridge, Keller Central, and Grapevine anyone? It would seem you have had your fair share of the "weak" teams as well.....Appreciate your concern about us H-Town folks and teams though, have a North Texas kind of day!

We had a little thing called Hurricane Ike that kind of messed up the football around here for a few weeks, you might have heard about it? How about:
John Curtis (7-1)
Cedar Hill (7-1)
Allen (7-1)
Keller (6-2)
CHHS (7-1)
Anyone? That's what I thought. Match that record of opponents then you can talk. Even with those 3 bad teams their opponents record is (38-26), 8 of which are from Grapevine. So Da Wiz has every right to bring this up, Trinity has played a tough schedule.

Here's the difference, KB. My goal was to bring TW up to the quality level of ET by making some statistical comparisons. This fool's goal was to chop the Houston teams down. Can you see the difference?

funny how this guy brings up records when all of pre-season everyone and their mama on this board was talking about our (North Shore's) non-district schedule being murderer's row and being one of the toughest ever.
1) Katy
2) Aldine Eisenhower
3) Cypress Falls
4) La Marque
5) Southlake Carroll
Several factors must be weighed. First off, Katy and Ike both started off slow but are rolling now. Cy-Falls and LaMarque are both having "off" years (at least by their standards). Both were given a lot of pre-season love but since i am not a follower of either program, i can't tell you specifics why they are having the season that they are. And, of course there is SLC. Yes, they are still SLC and still one of the state's best but even they have a loss and not exactly dominating in district play. Don't forget that because of Hurricane Ike (which is another topic in itself) NS didn't play for almost a month and had to scramble to find a game. Who did we choose? Lufkin @ their place. Say what you want about their record, but they are still Lufkin. And not too many teams can say that they went in to the ABE and they came out with a victory. Now as far as district, we can't help that. We play who the U.I.L. says we play. I'm just glad this isnt NCAA football where we have to rely on the BCS. What a damn mess that would be.

ok -- for my take ( expressed many times on this board )
Forget the rankings ( especially you fellow Woodlands fans )
In Texas High School FB -- rankings dont mean SQUAT -- there is no BCS type seeding --so the only rankings that count comes in Decemember -- a # 1

I have been a TWH ( McC ) fan for a LONG time --- a teams rank in regular season means NOTHING --- not even a plaque at the end of the season . The only thing a high rank means is an idea of what to expect if your team faces off against a high ranked team --- and that means NOTHING after that game --- win or lose

I believe you're right, fbstangman...you may have to get in line, though! After the first post on this thread, everyone's wanting to get in line. They are the top rated team in the state though, so until they get dumped on, they can have the target the size of Dallas on their back!
And what the heck is haka anyway? Horse:Censor:?
Please if anyone's weak attempt at finding bullentin board materials is what would make those teams wanna knock off Trinity one bit more than they did before I would be disappointed. I don't think you're giving your own teams enough credit, but as for Trinity and the Trinity community and family nothing said on this thread will take away from the focus on this week's opponent Justin Northwest, next week Bell, a strong 6-5A team the next week, and there's nothing guaranteed after that for Trinity. Nice last line by the way, stay classy .

I guess if The Woodlands wanted to look ahead to the playoffs, they can start concentrating on Westfield. That game is a virtual certainty no matter what happens the next 2 weeks, unless I'm mistaken. And make sure they do not have a repeat of Jersey Village in 2003.

My point was that Ike messed up many of the games that were scheduled and could not be played. If it had not been for Ike we would see different records than the ones you are posting. It is easy to say you don't play anybody when a team doesn't get the opportunity to play the games they had scheduled. Again, Katy was not one of your targets, but we missed out on BWB and found a game with Conroe Oak Ridge(3-4), that puts a big hit to our would have been SOS to what our SOS is now. That is why I said what I did. The only other thing I was explaining was that you were ruffling feathers, after 4 pages I still haven't seen anything from you that states you were "just looking for discussion". The post was to stir Htown up, congrats, you did it!
Sorry to hear about your family and the tragedy you have had to deal with. With your experience, I would have thought you would have been a little more understanding to folks like us who are dealing with what you already have dealt with. Good luck to the Trojans on their march back to the title.

 Match? Oh so I can't say anything unless I have played the same teams? I think playing the likes of Northshore, The Woodlands, Flower Mound Marcus, CyBay, FL, COR, and Mo Ranch all of whom were undefeated at the time we played them allows me to say what ever I wish! Besides, if you don't think that does, then the 1st Amendment does, remember this is still The United States of America.:ninja:

Well I figured it's best at this point to stay out of that particular argument. Westfield v Woodlands looks like it's a virtual lock, hence the reason I brought it up. I'll leave you guys to go back and forth with the Woodlands v ET possibilities. I've already expressed my opinion a while back.

Yep. You're absolutely correct dynasty. And after an entire day of seeing and contributing to this thread...it occurs to me that the original post from da whatever his name was has a right to write exactly what he did. I never said he didn't have that right. he stated an opinion and that's his prerogative.
It doesn't change how we feel about his remarks, just like it doesn't change how NS, and Katy, and Pland and TWHS and all the Houston area teams feel about the games they're preparing for now. We know where he stands on our strength of schedule, he and all of you know where we stand in our positions.
And for WIW, Lufkin is still a formidable opponent, no matter what their record. And so are many other teams in TEXAS.
Good luck to all. May the best TEAM win.
