God intended the World Series to be played in the Bronx. He allows aberations due to free will, but this series is simply more proof of His grand design.;)

We're in the middle of a second Dark Ages. The last 5 World Series have sucked something awful, so now we just have to wait for another Enlightenment or Renaissance. Then the Red Sox and Yanks can go back to fighting for the AL Pennant, the Dodgers can go back to fighting whoever for the NL Pennant, and the World Series can be between teams worth watching.

Is it true the ratings are going to end up worse than the White Sox - Astros series?

Seriously, they should re-define the national pastime and call it National Hobby and call Football the National sport.

Don't know which is worse, the series (yawn), or the men in blue (bad).

Good news is, pull for the Phils and the agony will end.

The ratings for the world series thus far have been absolutely embarrassing. We have the Phillies that no one cares about outside of Philadelphia and we have the Rays that 15 people total care about in the city of Tampa.

What is worse is the ridiculous rules that the MLB has for postponing playoff and world series games due to rain. If Tampa Bay had not tied the game last night in the 6th inning they would have been on a "rain delay" indefinitely until the rain stopped. With the forecast in the area that could have been several days. You can't suspend a world series game unless it is tied, or else you have to declare whoever is winning the winner of the game and that would be quite pathetic to have a world series champ crowned from a rain shortened game.

.....

It's worse. The Rays play in St. Petersburg, not Tampa. So a good number of the 15 will likely pass on with in a year or two.

but that's why we play, because if it was based on whose liked more. Ohio state usc year in year out championship games. Red Sucks and the Yankees, cow boys and probably San Fransisco year in year out. That would be boring

I never said that these two teams weren't deserving I just said that they don't have large followings and the ratings are awful.
