in recent years pesh has been a dominant force with kennan robinson and company but latley they just look like an average team with average players. so predictions on this one? i say allen rolls at kimbourogh and we come on back to eagle country to play the mean ole' wylie pirates in a classic for district contentions. thoughts on friday nights matchup with pesh?

It would be an understatement to say that East's program is way down this year. They should not present any real competition for you- at least not for 4 full quarters. I am going to be merciful and call it:
Allen-51
East-13

Allen loses big. ;) Actually pesh is worse then an average team by most assesments. I'd say consider it an extra bye week, however past couple seasons Allen always seems to have a let down. I Dont think it will be Pesh, just up to the coaches keep the kids well grounded and focused. Good luck.

This is a game I have worries with.
We spank Plano.(No disrespect intended)
We come out pretty flat in the 1st half
with Jesuit.
We NOW have a PESH team that stinks.(Sorry!)
We then have Wylie for ALL the marbles for district.
I pray that Allen doesn't look past PESH. That would
be a killer for the confidence of this team. If they
come out and go after PESH they can build on the
confidence they realized at Clark Stadium two weeks back.
If they are flat again . . . . . They might start
questioning themselves in their noggins, even though
they could still strut around.
These are the games that really can give you ulcers!!!
Best of luck EAGLES!
I'll see you back in town for the WYLIE "thrill fest".

Allen will win...probably big. Don't use the Wylie/East game as a measuring stick of East's talent...Wylie's "D" was very flat a big part of that game. That allowed East to stay in it. Thier confidence was boosted and they took advantage of the opportunity. Wylie "D" finally got it together toward the end of the game to preserve a win.

After watching PESH last week against West, you should not be concerned. They looked like a team going through the motions. West never punted, never turned over the ball and scored a touchdown on every possession, other than the last when they were on the one yard line and kicked a field goal.
If PESH plays like they did against West, your starters will be out of the game by halftime and you will have a hard time keeping the score under 70.

Wrong. PESH executed and did not turn the ball over. It had nothing to do with Wylie's defense playing "flat"... if we want to talk flat, we'll discuss the bands.
Wylie had 2 turnovers on offense that were near midfield. Big momentum shifters there. Any team that airs the ball out (As PESH did) has a great chance to put up some points. It's our offense that was "flat"... not the defense.

I was at the game...and your right the turnovers were big momentum shifters. But if our defense had been playing like they had in previous games then the momentum would not have shifted. We would have prevented them from taking advantage of the turnovers. I stand by my assesment that our "D" was not playing thier "A" game that night. The offense did thier job...they scored points. Could they have played a better game and scored 50+? Sure, but it's the defenses job to stop the other team from scoring. PESH has not shown themselves to be that good of a team this year but they had thier closest game against Wylie...and again, IMO, it was because of the play of the defense.

Wylie has had problems guarding the pass all season. They have been bad at that all season. Even if they brought their "A" game, or played the pass to the best of their abilities, they're still giving up those yards. I'm just saying that a defense that gives up 25 is not always a flat defense. They did play worse than they normally do, but giving up 25 is normal when the secondary is can not stop the pass.
I never said you weren't at the game. As a fan, I could only assume you were there!

Wylie played horrible in all phases 0f the game against East. East had two weeks to prepare for the game and they came out and played well....with that being said, East played perfect and Wylie could not have played worse....and Wylie still won. PESH looks like a team that could make some noise if they play perfect football, but i dont think that they can do that, especially against Allen. I watched them against WEST, and once they got down by 14 points, they stopped fighting and packed it in.....Allen will get up on them early and then you can put in some subs....the game will be over by halftime

I totally agree with your assesment of the secondary...they are our weak link this year. And maybe flat was not the right word to use...how about "didn't play as well as they had in previous games"? And didn't play as well as they will need to in the next 2 games. Can we agree on that? :)

Allen pretty much annihilated East last year. In fact, that loss kept them out of the playoffs. And because the win came so easily to Allen, I think it ultimately played a factor in how they prepared mentally for that infamous first playoff game where they got beat by Rowlett.
SO...I expect that both teams will be out to prove something this week. I would'nt be surprised if this wasn't a game until the 4th quarter.

Nobody will get fired. Has a football coach ever been fired in PISD for poor performance? The coach at East or West would have to leave on their own accord for a coaching change to take place.

If Allen Beats East then we have a 3 way tie for District. Allen would have to beat East and Wylie to take the top DI spot over Plano and the district championship, again. (Assuming Plano wins out against Jesuit...?).
If Allen beats East and then loses to Wylie, Wylie will take the district championship if they can also beat West this week.
If West beats Wylie and Wylie beats Allen and Plano beats Jesuit, then Plano takes the district championship and the DI top spot.

Let's assume the favorites win this week, ie, Allen beats PESH, Plano beats Jesuit and Wylie beats West. That means going into the last week, worst case for Allen is a 3 way tie for the district championship. But don't they still get the top seed in Division I and Wylie gets the top seed in Division II?

How is this possible? I thought Allen was a lock at DI 1st seed even if the Eagles lost to Wylie since they beat Plano.

If (or better when) Allen beats PESH even if Wylie wins out its a 3 way tie for district (Plano beat Wylie, Allen beat Plano, and only in this scenario Wylie beats Allen) as all three would be 5-1 in district. Since Allen & Plano are the two larger schools then Allen would be DI winner and Plano DI runner up since Allen beat Plano while Wylie is DII winner. So you are correct.;)

Thats the projected but not necessily the lock? SGP plays Irv Mac this week and both are tied in district (2-2) along with Iriving. So right now the 3 are fighting for 2 spots.

Cedar Hill will be DII 1st seed. IMAC/Irving are fighting for DII 2nd seed. And Wylie vs. West will possibly determine DII seeding for 8-5A.

Not sure how you figure? Cedar Hill (6) is 7-1 4-0
Teams to play OW-L DW-L
So. Grand Prairie(1) Irving MacArthur 3-5 2-2
Grand Prairie 1-7 1-3
Irving MacArthur(3) So. Grand Prairie 5-3 2-2
Irving 4-4 2-2
Irving(5) Duncanville(2) 5-4 4-1
Irving MacArthur 3-5 2-2
With these three going for two spots depends on who wins these games. Lots of possibilities even down to tie breakers. About only thing locked is Cedar Hill DII winner and Duncanville DI winner. Runner ups in both DI & DII still up for grabs.

The radio broadcast quality is terrible, btw! Apparently, they're having technical difficulties. Just my luck I picked tonight to stay home and listen instead of attending in person.

U did not miss much. Allen stuck in 1st gear all night...PESH giving maximum effort - just nothing there. Oporum going to be a Gator...pretty cool. He had a good night but that was about it. PESH had no Center, really cost them on some snaps, also no fans. Allen was up for the challenge, effort was there, intensity for this game was less than I expected. Coaches did good job and I am sure come practice, things will change rapidly!!:)

Thanks for the report. The technical difficulties continued throughout the game on the radio broadcast, but Allen's poor play kept me interested in the game anyway (painful as it was). But, on the bright side, I got all my bills paid for the month!
