WOW! what a game.....had me worried for lil while.
1. Congrats to the PACK. GREAT fan support
2. who threw that block on that Hays kid?? OMFG! that was sick!
3. anybody saw me? I had on a black hoody with light colored pants and purple & gold shoes on. I was with my boy he had on a PATS jersey with the white hat.
4. to JC-----get more consistent on your accuracy throwing, you almost got E.J. and Dez killed. but you played a GREAT game though.
5. Kibble is the TRUTH!
and finally, when the PACK D needs to step up--THEY STEP UP!
.........and Lufkin has the best looking girls in the state of Texas. :D

Glad you enjoyed it Scooter. It was a fun time today. Once Lufkin made it a two possession game in the 4th I knew it was in the bag. That forced Hays to put the ball in the air and move them out of their comfort zone. Great game though. Great deception in the backfield from Hays. Stay in 5A though Hays, love the great competition.

I posted this on another thread but here it is again, pretty much sums up my thoughts.
I think we are on the verdge of being that next upper level team, but we're just not there yet.
Wow, y'all really bring a BIG crowd, y'alls whole side was almost completely full. Although that many fans didn't produce that much sound. Do students sit together at games? It seemed spread out to me because we have a definate student section.
The game:
Our defense really stepped up today, I'm really proud of them, we kept your recievers in check and that's when we got burned by your HB. I can't tell you how many times we held to 3& 5 and it turned into a 30+ yard gain for Lufkin. Nash played a real tough game despite missing Tuesday and Wednesday due to an illness, he threw the ball incredibly well and excuted the offense as best as anyone could've asked him to do. Amadeus didn't really get to show off and shine like I really wanted him to, plus he had his first fumble of the game which was a huge momentum swinger. Your D kept him in check the whole game and that's when Nash began to throw and run.
Playcalling for us was a problem however and I think was a huuuuggeee factor. I don't understand why we go for it on 4th and 2 on the 50 with the Lufkin offense able to score quickly with 1 minute left in the half. But what was even worse than the decision was the actual play call. HB pass, come on, seriously not on 4th down. Yeah it worked on the first play of the game with our back up QB/ WR Brooks Pinkcard (that shows our team speed right there, our WR had no one within 20 yards of him after the catch got run down at the 20). Another critical playcall, 4th and 2 again in the 4th qtr. I beleive and we keep it away from the best 2 players on our offense, just baffling to me.
The back you have is scrappy and quick, I did'nt expect to much out of him because of his season stats. Y'all play a really nice balance of pass and run, and we got beat on the run which is ironic because I was scared of the pass all week.
Good luck to the Pack the rest of the way, y'all have the team speed to go all the way and incredible athletes as well. It was a fun game however I wish the score would've been the other way around. Sucks that we'll probably be moving down to 4A next season, I was looking forward to a possible re-match next season, but maybe we can dominate in 4A next year.

Except for deployments and work, I don't know what I'll wear the next day and you're telling us what you're going to be wearing next week!
I can narrow it down when I'm going to a sporting event, but I still have to pick one appropriate jersey or T-shirt. I usually just walk up to the closet and say, "I'll wear this today."

i agree with Ben we did our best bust the packs rb just ran it down our throat when i would think we would pound the packs defense with Amadeus so we would just run to win the game but didnt happen. but i want to know what was the hold up in the 1st quater it was like 30-45 mins long well gl next game beat garland and represent this area.

I just got back from Waco. Just now.. I waited ALL nite for somebody to call so we could hook up.. That call never did come. My cellfone is working, because I called and had a pizza brought out to the stadium so I could eat as I was terribly hungry by 11pm last nite.
It was about 2am or so, I had dozed off sitting against the wall of the ticket booth, I heard a funny noise that woke me. I thought: "finally, the call, I've not been forgotten about afterall". I opened my eyes and there was one of Wacos finest. He says "son, are you alright". I says "yessir, I'm waiting on a call, I am here to hook up with some people for the game." He says: "well, I hate to tell you this, but the game has been over for hours. All the fans have gone home." I says: "Sir you just don't understand, something must be wrong. Wide said he'd call and we would hook up right here at this very gate. He told me that." Cops says: "Who the f- is Wide?" I says: "He's the most notable poster on 5ATexasfootball.com, that's who he is." Cop says: "Oh, you mean Wide-E-Wide. The Widester. The Wide-Shizzle." I says: "Yessir". Cop says: "Something terrible must have happened because when Wide speaks, you can take that to the bank." I says: "Yessir". Cop says: "Why don't I just take you to your house and drop you off". I says: "The white Cougar over there is mine". He says: "Well, you should prolly just go on go. I don't think Wide is coming". I says: "Sir, if you'll just let me stay for a little longer. I know he'll call. I just KNOW he'll call. He just has to call. He said he'd call". The cop then hands me a hanky to dry my eyes with. He pats me on the back and says: "Now now, buck up little fella, it'll be ok". I says: "Ain't nothing little about me". Cops says: "You can say that again". I says: "Look, I don't need to be insulted". Cop says: "Sorry". I says: "If you were sorry, you wouldna said it". Cop:  .
He ended up letting me stay. At shift change, he brought me a big breakfast from McDonalds and a DietDr.PepperŪ, and introduced me to the next patrolman. When they were walking off, the new patrolman was shaking his head. I heard him say: "That poor guy. A thing like this could make a man grow hate in his heart for the fine city of Waco. Hell, it may even corrupt his thinking where the fine state of Texas is concerned". The original cop says: Yeah, we need to find Wide and give him a good talking to about the damage potential something like this has on us all".
At noon I had 2 Whopper Jr's and a coke. I went off on the "rookie" about the whole "coke" thing. I'm rather fond of Dr.PepperŪ and generally will resist other softdrinks.
At 3pm today I gave up on Wide and finally drove home. Tears in my eyes the whole way back to Austin. I was talking to mom on the fone and she reminded me that she had told me many times not to ever trust people I meet online. After listening to Dashboard Confessional to help with letting out my hurt feelings, I feel a little better about the whole thing.
So yes, I too, just got back from Waco. :)

The Lufkin player didn't take her down intentionally, I hope that is not what you are indicating? He was trying to catch a pass in the endzone and you guys were right on the sidelines. I hope the girl is alright, but did any of you stop to think before you lined up next to live action directly on the sidelines? There are set lines on the side of the field to stand behind to prevent that kind of thing happening, the Hays band was not behind the line, thus this incident. Still, I do hope the girl doesn't have any serious injuries. I am on the sidelines alot, I stay behind the designated lines and if the action comes my way, I have plenty of time to get out of the way. Hope she has a speedy recovery.

I think just about anyone in attendance would agree the incident was purely an accident. I mean the receiver only had his eyes on the football and was probably totally unaware the band was that close.

To get the whole band thing straight, it was completely her fault, when you're that close you have to pay attention. She was fine just a little bit shaken up, she marched halftime. The official came over to us and said that he would eject people if we didn't get behind the dotted line. Dez was down for awhile too, glad to see that everyone was ok.

Well - let's cut her a little slack gang. Sure, the band SHOULD pay attention, but they're hyped up for their performance and Dez was on top of the band in less than 2 seconds - he was running full tilt for a long ball. She said it was her fault and was a great sport and had a great, gutsy attitude. Gary Stallard with the Lufkin Daily News interviewed her and it was a great story.
I think Dez jammed his shoulder somehow - he was pretty banged up afterwards but stayed in.

Redneckn...you are crazy dude.
I was late to the game...well late me rephrase that...My Dad was late to the game...and we had to wait for him in the parking lot because he had our tickets. So instead of being at the gate at 11:30....we walked in the game about 15 after 1:00...Pack0808 held our seats as long as he could...but was overwhelmed by anxious Pack fans..hahaha
I left a list of cell #'s I had sitting by my computer at home...so I couldn't call any of the guys from the board. Luckily I had Pack08's memorized...and LPFan spotted me walking to our seats...
But I assure you...it wasn't intentional...It was just one of those crazy mornings where nothing went right.
Sorry again Redneckn...maybe the Pack will come back to Waco and we can all hook up then.

No harm done..
