View Full Version : Heritage vs. Keller

While a little of the luster is gone from this game, it is important to both teams playoff aspirations to win. Heritage needs to cotinue their strong and comsistent play. As after Keller, we have Grapevine prior to the playoffs. Looks right now to be SLC or Hebron. Finishing strong and healthy is very important for the Panthers. Look for great intensity from CHHS.
As for Keller, they must be in a state of shock after getting thumped by Bell. Don''t know what to expect after that. Will they be flat or inspired? A loss doesn't eliminate them, but two consecutive would have them reeling.

I think they're still in shock.
I think this will be a big win for Heritage.
On paper Heritage averages more than 10 more points a game than Keller (41.8 vs. 31.4). The "Points Allowed" category is closer; but as only one defense (Trinity) has held CHHS under 30 points and only one other team in conference held CHHS to under 40 points, I don't see this as a true factor as even though they held Trinity to 17... they allowed 4a Midlothian to score 34.
The CHHS offense is really turning into a fine machine that could have lit Central up for 70 on Friday. I don't see Keller stopping it. If the CHHS defense shows up it could be a long night for the Indians.

Oh I'm here! Just a bit taken back!
OK! I'm a believer in the idea that a good butt whipping is good for the attitude sometimes. In this case....Well, the Indians just took a serious whipping! I hope I'm right! Niether of our lines showed up at the Bell game. The Raiders O ran all over us and the D swarmed Allerheiligen like bees!
<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->I believe that Keller is capable of winning against CHHS!
But, I'm still rubbuing my head and butt!

Way to man up, Crazy. Sometimes an attitude adjustment is just what the Doctor ordered. Or maybe, it is an indication as Rico says of the schedule to this point. Ya'll got beat by a very good Bell team. No bounceback this week, though. :D
This it for keller the tie breaker is points and keller is third in head to head with bell and nw. They dont win this game and most likely they wont make the playoffs. keller will play with great passion but CHHS is just to much to keep up with.

Funny, you should word it that way. Same message the players are getting. DO NOT look for a letdown from our players. Coach Fuller and staff will have the guys ready to play on Friday night.

The emotion on the CHHS side will be that it is Senior Night and the last "home" game as they are the "Visitors" vs. Grapevine next week.
Passion is great but if both teams play with similar heart and desire then it goes back to the numbers and CHHS wins there.
I will say that I expect a MUCH better outing from Keller than they had against Bell. I really think that was a trap game for them, they may have been looking ahead just as some of their fans had been on this board.

There are still about 3 or 4 scenarios where Keller can make the playoffs withouth being CHHS. Do they need a win, though? Desperately! But a Keller loss with a Bell loss means everything comes down to week 10. A win by both and it's the same deal. Keller fans may be secretly rooting for Fossil for once in their lives.
The tie-breaker for district 5-5A is not points, but a coin flip. Couple ways where Keller, among with NW and Bell/Fossil, will be in a coin flip for those last two spots. Don't count anyone out until the week 10 scores are in.

Welcome to the board. From the looks of your name, must be a NW Texan;)
Are you positive on the coin flip being the tie-breaker?....never mind, i just read your post in the tiebreaker thread.

Week 9 - Keller Win w/ Bell loss and Keller beats fossil means Keller is in; lose to fossil and it's another 3 way tie with NW & fossil (assuming a Bell loss to Trinity)
Keller loss w/ Bell win means Keller MUST beat Fossil to get a 3 way tie.
Both Keller and Bell win means it comes down to week 10, whoever wins their respective game is in.
Both teams lose; same deal, winner of Week 10 between Keller and Fossil gets in.

OK! I'm guilty! I was looking right past the unexspected brutality at Bell, to this week! Now! It is this week! I trust fully that The Indians will show up at Mustang/Panther Stadium ready to give Colleyville Heritage all they've got! The big O-line is made up of seniors who won't be letting go of play-off dreams that easily! The Tribe defense will be fired-up after the bashing! I've decided that last week was indeed the attitude adjustment they needed. Word around town is, they're looking to fix their mistake in a big way. I'll venture to say:
Keller 28 CHHS 21
Blue-lights will shine on the Keller water-tower again next week!

The key to the game for Keller will definately be their defense.
If they don't stiffen up and do better in the secondary than they did against Bell... the point scoring juggernaut that is the CHHS offense will make the scoreboard blink 70. The Indian D must give the Indain O the chance to keep up in order for them to be successful as a team..

Kellar has to win this game or resort to Coin Flipping with Bell and NW. Panters are in the playoffs anyway, avoid injury, you bet. Grapevine- no worries. The papers say close games last 5 year. If the Qb has time, this game comes down to the End.

You actually seem to be the hater, anyway yeah I am horrible because I want my kids to get a good education and oh by the way better schools equal better property values. Because you had a "wink" after the first reference to Adam Cartwright I thought you had the wrong name on purpose. But the second time I realized you were confused.
The Cartwright family patriarch and Hoss' father in Bonanza was Ben Cartwright. Lorne Greene the actor was the character "Commander Adama" in the "classic" Battlestar Galactica series. Maybe you confused "Adam" and "Adama".:)

The Dragon will be pitching and the panther whining like a kitten. It will not happen in the first round as we will win our district so it will be further down the road. Hopefully Colleyville will hang in long enough to enjoy the pleasure of the annual beat down from Carroll.
Was not being critical but really do you have any idea of how many times Carroll is accused of recruiting or suspect athletes moving in?
Why is it that no one is busting their butt to move to Keller or Grapevine or Colleyville for that matter for "academic reasons".
It has been nice this year in that the teams in this district have respect for our program and what we have done while the 5-5A folks still harbor so much resentment. I do not get it, maybe it has to do with our proximity to each other don't know.
Panther is the exception.

Keep up the hard work on Chinese history, everyone must have a hobby.

You seem to be the one talking all the trash about our annual beatdown and we aren't even in the line of sight yet. Trying to convince yourself that we are not better than we have ever been and that you have been shown to be beatable, is laughable. Thanks for the chuckle. ;)

Zero from anyone who knows football.
This year is different.
Ghengis knows more football than you could ever dream about.
You should be worrying about Hebron, not Colleyville Heritage.
you beat me to it.
GAMEDAY !!
Go Panthers !!

Maybe the schools can stay in separate districts for a long time.

Good luck to your teams tonight. One thing for sure, there will be plenty of footballs in the air tonight with these two teams playing each other. We'll be eagerly listening for the score over at Pennington.

these arent my words...
Hebron defense holds strong
Fourth and goal at the 1 Against Southlake Carroll's high-powered offense? No problem.
Hebron's defense held Carroll on four downs and took over on the 1-yard line. With the help of a 67-yard run by QB Justin Iwuji, the Hawks are now on Carroll's 20 with less than four minutes to play.
Hebron leads, 37-28.
