It's now set...14-5A championship hinges on TWHS v. Lufkin game. Saturday 11/1, 4:00PM @ The Woodshed.
With The Woodlands defeating Conroe, the Lufkin Panthers stand in the way of The Woodies claiming the 14-5A title (barring any unforeseen upsets at New Caney (not a given)). So who takes this key matchup and WHY DO THE WINNERS WIN?

Lol LP-79...that was fast! Let's let the admins decide. We had a couple polls going on the Conroe game and feedback was pretty good. You comin' down?

If Lufkin's offense can get going and be consistent, then the Woodlands will be challenged and in for a fight. They gotta be ready for our beasty defense though too, i say Lufkin has a top 10 defense in the state. Eventhough we lost Bryson Brown tonight due to a fractured wrist, our defense will be just fine. Lufkin is one of the most underestimated teams in the state, mark my words. They just have to put the pieces together and fast. Lookout, the Pack is on the rise! GO PANTHERS!!!!!

Besides I like your poll options better. I was being a little sarcastic on mine. Some people must not have a sense of humor. I mean at least I did not get into the Cornrow Woodchopping Flatlanders like I have seen in the past!:Music

I think TWHS will have another dominant game, but earlier in the season I would have given them an underdog shot. I'm just flat out amazed that LP hasn't made adjustments as quickly on offense as I would have thought they would. The D for LP is very strong/quick. If they stay disciplined (linebackers and DE hold their positions and not get overly aggressive) they'll give TWHS offense some challenge. The down side is that TWHS defense which could be one of the top few in the state (IMHO) may be all over the recievers and in the backfield for fumbles and interceptions, not allowing much for LP.
If TWHS can get enough outside (Tweedy/Rowe) and over the middle (Wolfe/Eastman) where we can use some speed and strength, I think we'll see TWHS score 35 and hold Lufkin to 10.
I just haven't seen the adjustments from LP...yet.

Fair assessment and I tend to agree; however, we saw some of the adjustments last night that "could be" and they were remarkable. Lufkin even made changes to LB corp last night and it was a very good thing, not sure why, but very much needed to shore up the D even more.
Mr. Taco - I can understand why you would think Lufkin sucks and your analysis probably comes form a well-informed internet position;) Keep thinking that it's certainly your right...but if certain adjustments are kept from last night, Lufkin will be a different team!

If they keep all of the adjustments, then yes.
