Dynastybegan 86 can tell you off the top of his head how many years it's been, but I've lost count. The fact is that Mayde Creek has never beaten Katy and I don't think it will happen this year either.

Someone can put a poll on this if they want, but what's the point?

At least when Hunter fumbled a punt last year he followed it up with an INT for a touchdown. It's a lot easier to live with those mistakes when the player redeems himself later.

Why Not?

Get thru the Region and anything can happen. Look at 2003. Look at 2005.( I realize they lost, but they got there). The team that gets hot and confident at the right time can do a lot of things. Coaching helps at those times also.

i say yes because of how weak div 2 region 3 will be this year... i say they will have the opportunity to compete and fight for the title... but whether they actually lose in the semi finals or the final is a big toss up... depending on who makes it... but i wont be surprised to see katy back in the championship game this year, next year, the year after that, and the following year lol... the underclassmen in the program right now are wow... we might have another 1997/2007 team coming up again pretty soon

Sorry for not following the "We're not going to start any more Katy threads" policy, but I wasn't aware that was the rule. Of coarse, I'm not the cool guy that's in the loop like you are.

if they make it to the state championship...you still have to worry about reg 1 and reg 2...which are stronger than reg 3 and reg 4... so even if they make it to the 'ship...it's not guarenteed they win. and even if they make it to the 'ship...i dont think they will win

Hey man...ending a football season before Dec 21 or 22 sucks. Let this old man have his dreams because it is a long 8 months until it starts back up again. There are no guarentees in this life but one thing you can count on is that Katy will make it exciting along the way.

If they r all no then how do u know what happnd? And yes some of the players did feel dissrespected. Its football so the players reach for something to get them in the moment. What happnd was something that did so it had an impact on the game. Even if we weren't "disrespected" the outcome would not have been much different. Still a Katy win and most likely a blowout win.

He seems to be somewhat moody. When he on though, he's tough to contain. The post pattern has become a signature play for Katy. You usually will see it every week and Brandt is the next in line of a great group of receivers that makes it a vital part of the Katy offense.

He seems to be somewhat moody. When he on though, he's tough to contain. The post pattern has become a signature play for Katy. You usually will see it every week and Brandt is the next in line of a great group of receivers that makes it a vital part of the Katy offense.

Somewhat moody? The kid routinely walks off the field after failed offensive series. I have doubts that he even wants to be out there.

The post pattern is nice and all, but I wish they had another downfield threat that they could goto. Oh well, I guess that's why he got voted back onto the team.

Fair question, tough to answer. I kind of agree with Owned, but the new coach is trying and seems to be getting more people to the games. I'll say this, if they can finish the year out and make the PO's it will do a lot of good. Just don't know. It would seem as if they will become a CyFairISD school as close as they are getting to Katy. Time will tell, and the time that has passed, says no I'm afraid. Back in the mid-late 80's they were very good and have had some good teams along the way...but consistent, they have not been. They have talent EVERY year.

As far as the Mayde Creek game this weekend, I think Parker Ray will air it out a little more distributing TDs to multiple receivers and may have his best game of the year. I'd be surprised not to see 200 yds through the air and 350 on the ground. Katy defense shuts out Mayde Creek this year.

This is the key for the 2008 Katy Tigers to make there own place in the long and glorious history of this program. We've all watched a lot of high school ball over the years and if this team can gather enough focus to take it to the other team for four full quarters then they can be just as great as any team that has come through here. We still have the coaching and the program in place, now all that has to happen is the next group of kids needs to step up and take hold of their place. Focus for four quarters of football and the other things you mentioned go away.

You know, looking back on it, what keeps popping in my mind is how the P-Ville players were just standing there.:eek: If you go back and look at the tape, there were four of your guys just standing there looking at this thing develop almost as if they were in awe. Anytime you tip the ball to another player, especially on a throw that far, there is a little luck involved, but why your guys didn't react quicker to the play, I have no idea. Be that as it may, even if Katy didn't get that play it wouldn't have made a bit of difference. Katy makes adjustments at the half better than any team I've seen and the game was won on the first series of the second half. When Dean had his big run, and the Katy defense just blew you guys up for that three and out, it was over. After you go back and look at the hail mary, fast forward the tape and take a look the faces of your coaches and players after the first series in the second half. They knew they were in trouble at that point.

A Hail Mary pass is a very low percentage play and seldom successful, no matter how often you practice it. Otherwise you'd call it every other down! :cool:

being on field goal team, we were set to go for at least 4 minutes...first it was yes go for it, then no, then yes, then no, then yes....it got to the point where bo and aundre basically pleaded to go for it. they were getting pretty ticked off...but i do thank p-ville for that TO

Ya see...I really liked the decisiveness of the Katy team last year. I am starting to see some of it come back to this team this year. That kind of attitude comes with trusting the guys you play with and a shear determination to win.

actually it was planned. when u send katy's tallest receivers avie and doerr to the back right of the endzone and tell them to swat the ball back to #80 brian rowe( standing in front of them ( not going up for the ball i might add) i say it was a well executed play.:notworthy:notworthy That was practices many times.
